Chargrilled Oysters

- This here is my NOLA inspired chargrilled oysters. They are so freaking good!!! I highly recommend using oysters that are fairly meaty because the oysters will shrink when it cooks on the grill. Be prepared to make a few dozen because you'll probably go through these pretty fast! ;-P
Ingredients:
- Oysters (I used Yellowband oysters)
- Old Bay Seasoning
- Smoked Paprika
- Cayenne Powder
- Parmesan Cheese (grated)
- Romano Cheese (grated)
- Parsley (chopped)
- Cracked Black Pepper
- Garlic (finely minced)
- Butter (melted)
Instructions:
1. Shuck oysters.
2. Sprinkle cajun seasoning over the oysters. I used Taste My Roots Spicy Creole Seasoning blend but you can use Old Bay, paprika, and cayenne powder. Or you can use whatever you like!
3. Top oysters with the grated Parmesan cheese, grated Romano cheese, chopped parsley, and cracked black pepper.
4. Melt butter in a saucepan and add minced garlic to the butter. Thoroughly mix the garlic into the butter.
5. Throw oysters onto a grill.
6. Pour garlic butter over the oysters. You want some of that garlic butter to drip into the flame so the flame will rise.
7. Cook until cheese is melted (approximately 3-5 minutes).
8. Remove oysters from the grill. You can top with more cheese, cajun seasoning, and fresh parsley. Can even squeeze a little lemon juice & serve with bread!
9. Enjoy!

I don’t trust an oyster that I don’t have to shuck.
Thank god I thought I was the only one thinking that!
More company’s are starting to do this pressurized method.
They are both very good. Different tastes.
Only if it's Shucked in front of you right..lolz
Awesome, but all that “water” you let drain out is the liquid gold that your supposed to keep it in the shell. Dragos in New Orleans has the best chargrilled oysters hands down
I usually don't eat open oysters like that. I like to find the ones that are closed. Those taste alot better
I never thought about cooking my own until now! Feeling adventurous
Thank youuu for this video! I’m am going to start making my own now !
You dumped out the best part of the Oyster, the liquor, which you called water. That should be added back to the oysters along to whatever you want to add to them.
Got hungry real quick watching you.
Looks amazing my mouth is watering had to watch it twice
Now those look Delicious 😊
I love your oyster recipe looks delicious😍🤤🤤🤤🤤
Just for future reference u wanna leave that juice in there instead of draining it but great video
I think you can get rid of that first batch of water, the oysters will rebuild water by themselves after a few seconds…
That is exactly what I was screaming at the screen. Such a waste to lose that liquid!
Looking great! Oysters look yummy too 😊
My now favourite oyster cook! The most beautiful one too! 🔥❤️🌹
always always always ! keep oysters on ice at ALL times ie inside that bowl before cooking
So cool how they just plop open!!! Makes it easier for you to open without using an axe like me😂
But you look so cool using an axe! LOL!
This looks incredible!!! Yummy! 🤤
Why am I drooling...?
Love it!! I was always on the fence about making my own oysters, but now I'm going to do it!

Looks great,good recipe
She become my next wife all of her ingredients is what I use ;)
On yellow band or any band oysters, you still need to check for any bad oysters. People are mislead to think a banded oyster always means fresh. So time that is not the case.
Omg that looks soo good
Get a large aluminum pan & char your oysters in it. You want be messing up your gas grill. I've done it @ 450-500 degrees. Comes out great, regular grill really doesn't matter. Looks & bet taste great. I get my oysters by the sack, not time yet Nov. they are good thru March. From way South Louisiana, 30 miles north of Gulf.
Making this weekend 😍😍😍
Keep the juice
i found my recipe thanks !
You have a good recipe well prepared and we'll detailed. Tambay muna ako.
Where do you buy them from? Are they to be cleaned/rinsed on the outside prior to fully opening? Thanks
No rinsing/cleaning the oysters?
Awesomeness !!! 👍😋 is she goo...... 😳 I mean is this good or WHAT!!!
Beautiful.
Yea the oysters look delicious too
Great stuff! Keep it up.
Where do you get them?
We’re can buy these at
Thanks! May Jesus continue to bless you and your family
I need that 😍
You should be working at Drago's
How long do you recommend cooking them on the grill for ?
Until the cheese has melted! About 3-5 mins.
Yes very good. But the wine should be better white
One oyster was dead! The oyster was open...
Omg forget the oysters I want her!!
Hey are you not supposed to wash first ?
I don’t think it matters
Yes you are. The insides will be full of rocks and grit
Where do you get the Taste My Roots spices from? Just regular grocery stores?
You can place an order on IG. Just send @TasteMyRoots a DM!
I dont know about them oysters cause look a little suspect during the shucking process...🧐😅😅
Did you go to a culinary school?
How long did you grill it
What a babe
um thinking about some of these on a comal over the stove top? what you guys think?
You can try cooking these on a comal but it def helps to have the oysters directly over a flame.
Why are these oysters already opened?
I filled the cup!!!
You say, "Lick all that goodness off." 😯🤔😁
No garlic
How long do you cook oysters for
@Burr Anderson but they are already opened to put the other ingredients on, so.........
mehhhh i like to do the hard work ...no yellow bands for me
Why couldn’t you get a clean plate to serve them?
Already open mean dead.!... Husband?
Dead oyster with all the liquor drained out ... 😢
I wanna bust them cheeks.
Please tie your hair
Don't have a grill, Can I do it in the oven??
They are already dead that’s why they’re banded. I hesitate using those. I want them to be alive and fresh.
