*It's that time of year for oysters!!! I'm so glad everyone is enjoying this delicious recipe! Please make sure to subscribe to my channel!!! Stay hungry my friends* ! 😀
Great job! I love this recipe and it is amazing to me what restaurants try to pass as Oysters Rockefeller. I just went to a local Southern restaurant that specializes in fresh oysters and their version is just the oyster with a topping of chopped celery and some other stuff, no bechamel sauce, Pernod, spinach or parmesan. The oysters were not even properly cooked. I will try to make this recipe myself if I ever get my hands on good fresh oysters here in the middle of Georgia. Thanks!!!
Those two recipes look amazing. My husband's birthday is January 25th, and since we cannot go out to dinner due to COVID, I will be making this for his birthday dinner. We both love oysters so much and this is right up our alley.
@@RegesterForDinner Will do. I certainly appreciate the best wishes, as his health is failing, and I am trying to make the best of it. One day at a time. We live on the coast of Georgia, so fresh oysters is not a problem and they are always good.
@@RegesterForDinner Just wanted to let you know that I made your Oysters Rockefeller last night. Out of this world! It was so delicious and my husband enjoyed it very much. I also made Oysters Casino along with Bonefish White Cosmopolitan Martinis. We had a great old time and even have leftovers for tonight. Thanks again so very much.
GREAT video. Listen, I can only get fresh oysters in a jar. In the 2nd roux that you made, you used the juice from the fresh oysters. My question is, can I use the juice from my jar of oysters to make the roux?
Great video!! Question, why the wine with the roux? Does it give a special flavor? Do you use wine in all of your roux mixtures for other dishes too? Thanks dude, this video really helped!!
GREATTTT recipe. I'm not confident enough to shuck oysters yet. Will it work if I have them do it at the market? Do they leave the oysters in the shell? Oh, and your dad is 😍
I’m sure they’ll be able to shuck the oysters for you. Make sure they loosen the oyster from the shell, but you’ll want them to be in the shell when you prepare them! I hope this helps and I’ll let my dad know haha

Thank you for very much for the kind words! I’m sure there has to be a spot for good oysters, you just have to ask around.
You guys are hilariously entertaining & informative!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a question can you do that with clams and mussels
@@MichaelSimon-d5k I don’t see why you couldn’t. The cooking times may be different though because clams and mussels tend to be smaller.
Looks great thanks!
Thank you!
Maryland seafood... yes!! I have to make this soon
Let me know how it turns out!

Yes that should work!
Lovely meal man
Thank you sir
Are you able to replace the port for a substitute? Not a fan. 😊
You can use sherry, or a fry white whine. Those will work fine :)
What happened to the lemon in the hollandaise sauce?
This isn’t hollandaise sauce…
Great video!!

The wine adds a wonderful flavor to the roux. I don’t use it in all roux i make but I highly recommend it for this particular dish.
@@RegesterForDinner Thanks so much for the speedy response. I'm going to make these today!! I'm so impressed that I subbed!!! Ciao!

We’re you humming “stay fly” by big tymers while you were stirring your butter???

A lot of people may not know what Ol Bsy is...lol. I sure didn't before I moved to DC.
Old Bay is the best seasoning ever!
I’ve never had Oyster’s but they look delicious 😋
This is a good way to start liking oysters! Give it a try and let me know what you think
Pernod is essential for Rockefeller sauce. I was confused with your bechemel goopy glob. I’ve only made and viewed sauce.
Don’t knock it till you try it. Thanks for watching

This is actually a terrific cooking show. Although it's really too bad the audio is way below par. Too much echo

He wash his hands after licking his finger?
You can enjoy these with a nice bottle of whiskey from your local liquor board.
That you can my friend
Recipes look great. But from being from Chincoteague island in the SEASIDE.although your oysters are absolutely beautiful, there not seaside salts
We can’t really complain for the price we get for these. I think last time we paid like $60 for a bushel
I have that picture of your Grandfather MRYC
Oysters look slimy
Oysters in general? Or the ones I made? You have to get past the look and focus more on the flavor. But it’s more of texture thing for a lot of people
say man whatsthis here sauce.
Pure deliciousness

Does anyone else cringe with the sound of the metal wisk & the pan? Or is it just me
Otherwise, looks delicious.
It’s actually never bothered me. Sorry to make you cringe
Metal spoon in metal bowl is a no, no but i like your recipe .

I mean I’d like to be able to taste the oyster

No clean.
You are shouting and the sound is too sharp.
