I'm new to oysters.....never tried them but intrigued by them....are they cooked through in only 4 minutes or are they partially raw?

    • @jr_xtreme8940
      @jr_xtreme8940 Год назад

Oysters are one of those foods that can be eaten raw or cooked depending on the recipe. For this one, 4 mins is more than enough...the main criteria is that the cheese is fully integrated with the cream sauce

Has anyone ever heard of "Oysters HARAWAY" ?
It is awesome ! I only know a few ingredients because the Chef wouldn't tell me the rest. It was created by a Chef named WILSON who made this AWESOME dish while working at the 2 named restaurant "
    The Speedway / Caf'e
ABRUZZI in Langhorne, Pa. R.I.P. Wilson...you and Leon did a hell of a job .

Sambuca really makes this recipe shine but I would also add some kind of ham prosciutto or capicola and maybe but not definitely some very finely diced red bell pepper

Yum looks delicious…. I could eat a dozen of those no problem….I read the colour of green from the spinach is to match the colour of money because Rockefeller was very rich 🤑

The more I look it seems the more I find a different combination of green favored items that are combined to make up the topping. I think I prefer Oyster butter that consists of softened unsalted butter, watercress, tarragon, celery, bread crumbs, minced green onion and Pernod.

I'M BACK ! YES, HOWARD IS BACK FOR A MEMORIAL WEEKEND 2023 OYSTER EXTRAVAGANZA ! Unfortunately, this means
Me, Myself, and little ol' I.
This holiday weekend i will be indulging on crab legs and BEER ! BUT....the 🌟 of the show is about you,and the way you make Rockefeller.
    1. Oysters Rockefeller made the way YOU make them and that is absolute HEAVEN !
    2. Oysters Haraway. Made the way I created this recipe.
Easier to prepare, a teeny bit less rich, and taste AWESOME ! Not that a master chef cares about some strangers twist on oysters but maybe you'll get a kick out my comments. Maybe ? 😬 ? Anyway, let's start.
Fry your favorite smoked bacon 🥓, ,rendering out most of the fat. ( trying to keep it a little healthier Lol)
Once bacon has cooled down, chop and crumble it up into small bits.
Finely chop Vidalia, or red onion, fresh garlic and red bell pepper. ( option Jarred fire roasted Sweet red), Sautee in leftover bacon grease until translucent, set aside. Shuck oysters, and lay on a crumpled up aluminum foil, creating small cradles so the oysters don't tip ,losing the liquor. Spoon in a little of the sautéed mix, and bacon.. NEXT ....
This is where it gets interesting, and exciting .
Ingredients : Add "YOUR" amount of .....
    Creamy butter
    Olive oil
    Tabasco's Smoke Chipotle sauce.
    Tabasco's Sweet and Spicy sauce.
Hellmanns Roasted Garlic sauce ( omitt sautéed garlic unless you LOVE GALIC .I do both.😎👍)
Now, I chose NOT to add cheese to this oyster recipe but what I do do is 1 minute before pulling them of the grill, I garnish with crunchy coarsely cut
GREEN onion. Chives are ok but I prefer the crunch and the slurp of the oyster going in my mouth, and enjoying all the different flavors, and textures.
IF this awesome chef reads my comments, please tell me what you think about the ingredients, and whether I made too much of a project over this ? All I know is, when I eat my last oyster, from this recipe, I get depressed 😢
    NO MOE OYSTERS TONIGHT.
QUESTION ....Do you have a recipe for steamer clams that is more then lemon, garlic ,and butter ? Something with more ingredients?
    One last request..lol
    How about your own
Black Mussel recipe with "YOUR" Ingredients ?
I love shellfish and I'm always looking forward to exotic recipes.A ethnic twist is simply thee best.
Thank you sooooo much for reading and responding to my previous comments from over 2 years ago. One more thing, You could teach Gordon Ramsay a thing or 2 about cooking . Lol... absolutely !

No go on sambuca. Very odd choice as that liquor has a black liquorice taste to it. I'm no chef, but sometimes chefs make bad calls too

Try minced fennel. It’s naturally anised-flavored. The Sambucca and Pernod are not original to the recipe.

Whatever tastes good is fine, but the original recipe doesn't use spinach and it sure doesn't include cheese...or the Hollandaise that is often included. A simpler, fresher, healthier version can be made by processing parsley, watercress, some celery leave & green scallions. Squeeze out the excess liquid, and mix with some melted butter. The mixture doesn't have to be precooked. Press a rounded teaspoon of the the mixture onto each oyster. Top with 1-2 drops of Tabasco and either a drop of anise extract (use a dropper, not a spoon) a 1/4 tsp of Pernod or Anisette. Broil, supporting the oysters in a tray of rock salt. That's it. It doesn't need to be more complicated than that and it tastes outrageous.

Just a matter of taste. Her version is what I prefer and most people I know. Depends on what part of the country you're from I suppose. But it's like you said...whatever tastes good is fine. Chow down.

chopped/processed greens (spinach, watercress, etc), butter, and breadcrumbs on oysters is what i think of when i crave oysters rockafeller.
Whole spinach leaves, bechamel, and cheese reminds me of steakhouse creamed spinach haha
      Regardless that looks delicious chef

I doubt Tabasco was in the original recipe either.

Every time I get oysters Rockefeller it's made with a unique zip. I very much enjoyed each restaurants version except ironically the most expensive one where they blended all the ingredients into almost a green moose. Blech. Ruined it.
