- Twisted Willie (Written by Willie Nelson
Performed by Johnny Cash with Krist Novoselic (Nirvana), Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), Sean Kinney (Alice In Chains), and John Carter Cash.) - Видеоклипы
Badass combination of artists/musicians.
Cash was a killer in rock tunes, he nailed them!!
like them both, but Willie has it for this song.
Lou Pyzik that’s because Willie is the original singer of this song. He wrote it himself.
Willie just has the better voice for this kind of song.
First line of Preacher, "Garth Ennis's finest comic book series."
I used to have this CD back in the 90's & love this song. I am glad I finally got to listen to this song again.
If they ever make Preacher into a movie or TV series, We found our theme song!!! ANd every scene should have a Johnny Cash song cuz that comic book series screams Johnny cash!!!
Ruben Baeza you got your wish this is the first song that plays in the series
This is one of the best tribute albums around.
Willie had this on the redheaded stranger. If you are new to country music Redheaded stranger is a great place to start.
@N7Crazy that electric guitar is what gives it the fire of the lesson being taught.
Who came here from preacher by Garth Ennis? Lol
Me, JESSE CUSTER 4 LIVE
+Tyrone Biggums Nobody. They went to the Willie version instead.
Fucking awesome book so far.
+Tyrone Biggums Best comic book on the entire planet
i prefer the willie nelson version
What a GREAT compilation!!!
Awesome song awesome work
this is a great song
I have this album. Awesome work!
Awesome!
I wish you luck!
Cool!!
que buen tema por el amor de Dios...
I came here cause I bought the album in cassette form twice in the mid-late 90s,and now I only have the case and can't find the disc.
No one talks about how Chris novoselic played bass on this
Here because I was curious if the man in black ever spoke on Nirvana, and found a story of someone who worked selling CDs at a mall where Johnny Cash asked him for a Nirvana disc because he was doing a song with them soon. This was the song. Very cool. He gave him Unplugged btw - great choice.
and he saddled his pony, and he went for a ride.
'cried like a panther in the middle of the night' makes me think of anchorman
For the Badger ..
@Lenny359
it's from an album called Twisted Willie.
@Devilsblood this is in the willie nelson "red headed stranger" but it is sung by willie nelson...
Oh, sounds like an interesting album.
@Lenny359 "Alice in Chains - Working Class Hero" is the album. It is a hard find. good Luck.
@N7Crazy , thanks bro
@xavierguitars Rusty Cage is on "Badmotorfinger", which was produced by Terry Date, not Rick Rubin... but you're right, Johnny's cover was Rick Rubin's suggestion...
@ProgressiveOasis It'd make a great movie theme
I knew almost all of the comments here would be about Preacher.
Just so people know, I've just finished writing a pilot script based on the first 3 issues of PREACHER. I'm gonna submit it to Garth Ennis as soon as I can find a way to get in contact with him
The Outlaw Bongslinger well a show was made. Did you write it?
Thank you Garth Ennis
@omegalen umm he cover rusty cage cause thats what Rubin picked out for him to cover, you know since he produced that soundgarden album
The Preacher is a metaphor for The Gun. A decent song.
i was gonna say willie took it but damn that cash is good. its said that they both played this song so great they ended up in hell i seens it
I don't think Johnny Cash is in hell. He was a real christian.
Wait hell what do you mean willie eh maybe but cash was a good Christian man
There isn't a hell, probably, I hope there isn't.
While I love Preacher, Edge of Darkness did it better. Jedburghs last stand and Craven's defiance.
I love Jedburgh . I wish he had used that plutonium bullet . The black flowers would have saved the planet anyway!
Your opinion.
It brought me here too.
If people listen to the conversation between Craven and Jedburgh, it explains this very succinctely. Willie's whole album "Red Headed Stranger" is a brilliant story. I'm not a fan of country music, but because of "Edge of Darkness - the BBC version, the only version worth mentioning", I bought it and enjoyed it.
isnt this Jerry Cantrell on the 6-string?? what a sick fuckin solo my friends.....
no my brother, that's actually Kim Thayil from Soundgarden
brilliant song, cash's voice is the only cover i've heard do this song justice. too bad it was ruined by that electric guitar. :(
As much as i love the Seattle guys on this, i just don't think all that distortion fits on this song.
Boy, sure didn't know Cash did this. Prefer Willie's version. But this one sure is interesting. Must be a non-issued take done at American recordings?
What the hell is that awful clash of blurred electronic noise layered over Cash's voice? Sounds like a vaccum cleaner choking on an object that it can't handle. Terrible.
F*ck all that unnecessary noise, just want to hear johny cash sing it pure like willie nelson :-(
@TheARMDogg sick as in u wanna puke, it's one of the worst solos i have ever heard
cash sounds great as always, but the rest of the music is horrible. a goddam abomination.
Awful music.......
Cash sings it his way but you can beat willies version..
