I was astonished that Jason Earles was 29 playing 16 year old Jackson. He could have passed for being in his early 20s, and younger me would NEVER have guessed.
I was surprised to find out he is only a few months older than me
it also throws you off knowing that both Miley and Emily were the same age as their characters.
I love Bianca Lawson. She just never ages. I remember when she played Kendra, in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and then when I saw her again in the Vampire Diaries as Emily Bennett, I gagged at how young she still looked. I swear she has done so many shows and doesn't get enough credit.

You know Bianca was a good actress if she had everyone thinking she was a teen in every role all the way up to her 30s.
Cordelia Chase was not Buffy's "sidekick." She was never considered one of the "Scoobies" even when she was involved with Xander briefly. For much of the series, she was an antagonist and/or someone to get in the way and/or comic relief. She also started out as comic relief on Angel.

Amy was 22, Walter Jones was 22, Thuy was 19, Jason David Frank was 20 when he joined the cast as Tommy and David Yost was the oldest at 24 in the first season. late teens to early 20s.
You start looking like a fully-fledged adult at around 30. Many under 30s can pass for teenagers.
You used the wrong clip for Riverdale. That’s Ross Butler, who played him in 13 episode before leaving the show n favor of 13 Reasons Why. He was then replaced with Charles Melton.
The funny thing about Riverdale is that when most people made jokes about the characters looking too old for high school, they would often mention KJ Appa who was actually still high school aged when he was cast. Ashleigh Murray looks so young you would think she’s younger than most of the cast.

Nicholas Brandon was also much older than his character, Xander Harris. He's only about 8 months younger than Charisma.
Going back further, Anson Williams was 25 when Happy Days started, while Ron Howard was 20 & Don Most was 21. I would count Henry Winkler at 29, but he wasn't playing a high school kid. So it's been a trend for a long time.
And both of them were the same age as the actress that played their teacher, the one that had a relationship with Giles

Daenerys and Margaery were deliberately aged up for the show. The show versions were supposed to be late teens/early 20s.
All the main characters were aged up. Jon Snow in the books is 14 or 15, same with Robb Stark. But the show versions were supposed to be older.
Yes, if I remember correctly, Daenerys was 13 (or almost 14) years old during the events of "Game of Thrones". Margaery was 16 when she married Joffrey (13).

Someone made a mistake saying Tom Welling's bday. It's 1977, not 1997. Otherwise, he would have been only 4 years old when he started the series.

I find it odd and a bit fitting that Bianca Lawson's character in PLL is named Maya St. Germain. She shares the same name with the Count of St. Germain, a supposed immortal. Seriously, this woman must be a vampire.

Why do TV shows do that? Can't find actors close enough to the age they want to represent?
One reason is because there are multiple regulations (parents on set, maximum number of hours a day they can work etc) that must be adhered to if the kids are younger than 18. Those go away once the kids are 18.

@@chynne33 I’m going by what he said on the podcast. She wasn’t in the show until season 5. Season five was released in 97’ and Rider Strong is 44 or born in 1979. I’m pretty positive that he said himself he was about 17/18 years old.

Of course Mojo would make a list like this but of course as usual they never add the cast members of the 2016 LGBTQ show called Eyewitness and I believe both of the main characters named Lukas Waldenbeck and Philip Shea would be perffect for this list since they were both played by criminally underrated actors named James Paxton and Tyler Matthew Young who were both born in February 1994 and December 1990 respectfully and yes they were both in their early twenties when the series aired with only one season unfortunately but I still believe they needed to honorably mentioned at least once so I'm mentioning it in the comments but of course as usual nobody else deeply cares about this CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED SHOW but me, what a damn shame that more people didn't know about this LGBTQ show because it was really, really, really, really, really good.

I haven’t seen _On My Block,_ but glorifying the issues presented in _13 Reasons Why_ is a prominent problem I have with that show. Jay Asher’s debut novel of the same name did a much better job without glorifying what happened to Hannah. I even analyzed the show in a research paper on teen girls’ mental health I did as a college freshman. Feel free to disagree, but the articles I read opened my eyes to the show and its controversies.
@Jeremiah_Rivers76 I don't think they glorified it, I think they represented teen girls mental illness issues mixed with high-school drama issues very well.
