Hi, I have the 4 cyclinder 1.2 Corsa C, and have a leak somee´where on the pump. Your video has been great to give me confidence to show it not a too complex replacement. One question, is how does taking the belt off impact the timing? i'm rather nervous of making a bugger up to the engine
Coolant systems are designed with a specific coolant in mind, use the OEM spec coolant otherwise it will degrade seals in the engine as well as the coolant hoses, causing catastrophic failure
I would have removed the airbox for better access to diagnose and repair then ran the engine, on this engine it was just the thermostat housing so easy cheap repair
If you’d known would you just have replaced the hole thermostat or just the mounting (so the gasket area & cleaned it up) rather than replacing the pump?

No worries over timing. The camshaft is driven by an internal chain, so the water pump belt is auxiliaries only, which do not have timing.

I would have just cleaned up and resealed, but no harm in fitting a new pump.
