I was 12 and remember that day very well! This victory is so sweet coming after so long, was tough being a loyal fan when a lot of my friends turned their back on the Blues. Glad to have turned up when times were shit. So happy all weekend. 1 for the 09 🙌🙌🙌
I was 11 and that 2003 team was THE team that really got me into rugby in a big way. Been a blues tragic ever since and there was no way I was missing last night's game. Drove down from Whangārei and loved every minute. Blues forever!

I was 7 years old the last time we won it in 2003. So many years watched them as bottom of NZ conference and sometimes bottom of the table entirely. Then Leon Macdonald came and we started competing for the top again and wow Cotter first season first grand final win? Insane. Also Harry Plummer for the AB's now surely.

Phenomenal performance by the Blues. They didnt let the Chiefs do much. Yes, the URC final was more entertaining, but it was fun to watch the Blues get their first championship in 21 years and in such dominant fashion.

As a blues fan how come there was no mention of Harry Plumber except for a possible AB call up 🤔 he was the one who made this victory happen and he deserves credit 😊 his form throughout the season has been outstanding 🔥💯
It was honestly the best game of rugby for the weekend. Despite the rain bringing it more into the realm of a forwards focused game plan it still beat the pants off the horribly disjointed game that was South Africa v. Wales. SA looked like a bunch of high school kids, not like world champs at all! And the Fiji v. Barbarians was more of a demo game, felt bad for the Fijians in that one, the travel and jetlag showed.
Congrats to the Blues on a very convincing and dominant win.
Let's hope that Scott 'Razor' Robinson has the right mix of talent and game plan to dominate England in the same way next month!

Blues thoroughly deserved that. Big chiefs fan, a very frustrating watch both live and again on TV. Blues dominant in every area and chiefs making errors with the little ball they got. Auckland fans were awesome and was a great atmosphere in spite of the weather. Don’t mind losing so much, more disappointed that we didn’t turn up 😞 I said when the QFs were going that I wouldn’t be too annoyed if the blues win it if the chiefs don’t, whilst I didn’t want it to be us they beat in the final, I stand by that. Congrats blues 👏

I moved to Aussie in 2004 and it hasn't been great watching over the years from across the ditch from a Blues perspective. Hats off to the Chiefs and the Canes for their hot form this season. Congratulations to the Blues but 21 years isn't long. I'm from Mayo in west of Ireland and it's 93 years since winning the GAA All Ireland Championship and it's not like they haven't made the final and also there was a few years they had replay final.
Congratulations to the Blues from a Crusaders supporter. A well deserved win and lead by a coach who knows that hard graft with a simple gameplan gets the victory. Disappointing effort by the Chiefs but the Blues didn't give them a chance to get going. A lot of experience in this Blues team and I wonder how many will stay on to go for a repeat next year? I think Cotter took the job after the Crusaders told him no. Great call that one. Going with a donkey with an abysmal record in the comp. Lost my enthusiasm for the tournament without the Saffas. Needs an injection of Japanese teams. Maybe some South American too.

Happy for you and the Blues but as a neutral that was a pretty disappointing game. The whole finals series was a let down actually, was there maybe one close game? Compared to how many good games there were in the regular season it's a bit of a strange turnaround. I don't think moving to a top 6 is going to help us with the entertainment factor based on this year's results.
Here's hoping the trend of competitive games continues next season and into the finals next time. Also hoping an Aussie team can chase down a home semi to spice things up a bit.

The urc was a true final super rugby final was dissapointing as a neutral fan because its borring if it's that one sided watch the first 20 minutes then i saw here is a hiding so i went and did something else but happy for blues fans

Just saw twocents just uploaded a Top 14 final review, it's considered the best and most competitive rugby club comp in the world and the final had a 56 point differential
