- This video shares my first ride experience on my brand new 2020 Yamaha YFZ450R. I'm beyond grateful to have another new machine. I'm very excited to use this quad in a variety of terrains and to find it's strengths and weaknesses. Thank you again to everyone that watches my videos. If you haven't yet, you need to check out Durham town in GA.17 tracks. Miles of trails.Its quad heaven.
I just turned 18 and started working, and my dad gave me his 06 Ltz 400, slightly modified. I'm so happy, he knew I always loved that quad and gave it to me as a present, and it's street legal too !

F1shittyGarage sxs has faded out finally. The problem is the soft comfy riders need power steering, big ass suspension, no gears , heated thumb grips. It’s more comfy on a grizzly than a sport quad and they do the same thing , go the same speed .
I had a YFZ450 about 10 years ago. Awesome machines!

I have a 04. You won’t be disappointed. But do a fci intake, dasa exhaust, vortex ecu and it will really wake it up.

What made you get a raptor im considering getting a raptor or the yfz next summer. Have you test rode other quards

Funny how you can always tell a Raptor by the exhaust note, they're all the same.
Every bike I've ever owned, regularly peg them, all but my old Raptor 660, feels dangerous 40mph up, it is a beast. Never a problem neither, mechanical wise

Sweet addition. That blue is stunning! I always felt Yamaha had a "meet and potatoes" look to their Blaster, Banshee and warrior. They've made some sleek machines with the Raptor and YFZ.
Have fun at Little Sahara. I've been needing to get it there. Just got back from a week at the Hatfield/McCoy trails earlier this morning. My ATC 350X got more attention then previous trips.

My ltr450 with walsh suspect and fox shocks gave me the confidence did feel in the yamaha or honda. Handles like its on rails and never worry bout over shooting or landing short on jumps. Amazing machine

I love to watch things I can't even afford in my dreams.
I never broke in a machine and they where always just fine. Most important IMO is to always let the motor get to full operating temperature before running it hard regardless if new or broken it.
Same here. Riding it hard the first few hours is actually good for it since it sits the piston rings better. After I had my mustang cobra rebuilt by a highly reputable shop, I was told by the owner to bring the rpms from 2000 rpm to 6000 rpm and let the engine bring down the rpms back down to 2000 and do that 3 times. And this was right after the 1st start up and it had warmed up from normal driving NOT IDLING.

Awesome Pete- just bought one of these myself- HARD TO FIND! I installed the Vortex ECU and I have the FCI intake and Fat Boy 4 National arriving soon- the Vortex ECU brought my 450r out of the bog coma.... it's an entirely new machine. Good luck and great videos!

Also, if you want to keep the shine, you could always try and buy a protectant, I'm gonna try and use some slick atv plastics shine and protect on my 450r

Congrats on the purchase I owned a raptor700 sold it but recently had a banshee but loved the chassis and geometry of the yfz450r I myself just got a yfz450r chassis aswell I’m looking to put a banshee motor in it. I’m gonna make a hell of a hybrid.hopefully your next trip to Florida It’s done.

Highly recommend a VORTEX ECU as soon as possible! It is night and day and eliminates the bog/lag completely. Dont waste money on anything else.

You inspired me to get a sport quad so I picked up a 07 z400. Haven’t got to ride to much because the chain kept popping off. But I just installed new rear axle,sprocket and chain. Now it should be good to go!
