- Even though I have put relatively low hours on this machine, I recognize that there are some weak points that I should take care of. And of course, I want to make some improvements in the power department. Dive in with me as I crack open this YFZ and start to learn Yamaha engineering.

I got a 23 yfz450 and it has the big 3 done I will be getting the flywheel bolts and clutch now thanks for the info 🫡
@@anthonyatv4504 I hope you get that thing in top shape 🤘🏼
@@SQUARE1SpeedChannel I didn't know about the bolt problems.. going to have to deal with that now lol
@Bumpertrash1 I didn't see alot about them, but enough to make me do the switch.
shes looking real nice with the new mods Ian!!
@leedimatteo5078 thank you 🤘🏼 protection and aluminum parts are probably next on the list.
That YFZ450 is looking really good with that RP exhaust system. Please don’t abandon the Honda Gang ✊
@@floridatrailrider305 Everyone can relax. I'm still building and riding Hondas. 🤘🏼
Sadly, I can't say that Honda is doing the same, though. 😮💨
@@SQUARE1SpeedChannel yeah I wish Honda would bring back the 450 & 400. I believe if they did it would sell like crazy.
Heck yeah!!!! Things going to be a true ripper!
@@JacksonOffroad25 that's what I'm hoping.
Ironic............ I have a YFZR sitting in my garage right now (The American Flag Practice quad) with sheered off flywheel bolts and who knows how much damage!! Great choice of upgrade!! My old Race quad that you've ridden and been around many times, had the same GYTR Billet intake flange that you did with a Twin Air foam filter. The only difference is I did what Logan did, and added the FCI intake Tube to the stock air box because the stock intake tube has a sharp angle that limits airflow. Love that stem and bars as well!!! So clean looking!
@@DocAtrox I want to keep this one clean and simple for as long as I can.
Great video lan awesome parts I’m loving that exhaust
@700rRaptorLife I really need to get it tuned so I can ride.
@@SQUARE1SpeedChannel Most definitely..I gotta take mines out next weekend to see what those gb3 about 😁😁
@@700rRaptorLife h3ll yeah 🤙🏻
Great video my friend! And nice 450! I was actually thinking about doing the same with the intake on my 2024 700R and was gonna try the Niche aftermarket lid that lets it Breathe better but i wound up just getting the fci intake! I truly believe both methods gotta be close in performance, especially with that Niche lid! One thing i noticed before getting the big 3, is that taking the air box lid off definitely makes a difference! I ran it like that for a while and it was fine! Im still amazed at how much bigger the air intake/filter is for the 450 vs the 700! I had the trx450 fuel custom intake on my z400 and i guess thats why the 700 intake seemed so small! Lol anyhow! You take care!
@TerrellSpivey it was an eye opener when I saw just how restricted the OEM intake is. It's going to be alot of fun seeing what performance I can squeeze out of it with minimal modifications. 🤘🏼
Yezzir! I'm interested to see too! Ill be watching out! @SQUARE1SpeedChannel
Not done with the vid, but dood - I said it in Indiana - Ashton's raptor sounds SO good! You're correct. Hope this is similar.
Sick new project, maybe I'll catch you testing it at Twisted Lizard when it cools down.
@sbz666_ that's the plan. I want to get more laps in at that place 🤘🏼
I was looking at the rp race also, the full length one. I had the gytr adapter on my blue Raptor, works great and made a big difference and you still have ability to run a lid in wet conditions. i may go with an ecu flash from EHS racing to avoid the piggy back trouble. Not sure yet.
@@OdysseyOffroad it sounds goooood. Slick looks, too.
Also forgot to say you’ll have to check out the RP exhaust heat shield to keep from melting boots on that back section of pipe
@@JacksonOffroad25 I kept the stock one on and just bent it out for clearance.
@@SQUARE1SpeedChannel works even better since it was FREE.99 lol
I dont like the thick odi lock-on grips either, I like the thinner grips also, and I have big hands, just feels like I have more control.
Do the gbc ground busters let you kick the back end around and cut donuts ok? I ran the xc masters bit the hooked up so well they wouldn't really let you kick the rear around, they would try to bite and 2 wheel. I ride for fun and like to cut up.
@@jb1.. the Ground Busters act more like an MX tire. They have a controllable slide and a softer "stickier" feel to them.
How did you get the RPexhaust to fit with the parking brake cable guide? Or did you remove the cable guide?
@@michaelquill8086 I re-routed it farther back behind the head in the cable stay above it.
Cool build. I've got a 22 that I have similar plans for, RP exhaust, Hinson clutch, etc. Who does your tuning in Utah? I was going to get a Vortex but maybe I'll just do a reflash.
@@vintagetrikesandquads4012 Jeff Schrick has a dyno and software to flash the ECU. He doesn't have any base maps yet, so I'll put mine on the rollers to really get the most out of it.
♿️♿️♿️ Blu Crew!
No tune needed for these upgrades?
@clockworksoldier77 Yes, a tune is needed. I mentioned in the video that I'll be tuning it on the OCP dyno alongside my Honda "Randy Savage."
No I thought you was loyal Honda
@@johnbruzzi4381 why does everyone think that? Because I built some Hondas? 😆
@@SQUARE1SpeedChannel cause I've only seen you ride Honda, except with the Brewers.
Do the cops every tell you anything for riding on the street ?
@asg7861 no. I register my quads as partial street use. I have tags for them and can use public roads to connect trails.
Here in Arizona all you need is collision insurance and working brake/headlights and your quad can be street legal. Very common to see SxS's driving on the street in some of the smaller towns up north.
