  • With the release of the newest Batman movie, I wanted to reflect on what I considered a strong era of Batman games growing up. Of course, we always go to the Arkham games (and rightfully so) but this collection of games meant a lot to me growing up. So, in celebration of a new era of Batman, let's reminisce!

It’s way better than Sin Tzu, Vengeance is a toss up. Heath Ledger dying had a massive impact on why the sequel wasn’t made and even then they still made a mobile version that was fun! If heath lives then I think they make the dark knight video game and I think they ratchet shit up to 1000. The only thing that would’ve propelled The Dark Knight further past the legendary status that it currently has would’ve been a polished gritty video game that probably could’ve changed the course of history with the Arkham games. You might not ever get the Arkham universe if The Dark Knight game would’ve been made.

I just couldn't get Into It, though. I suppose the new Beat 'Em Up direction that Ubisoft went with just didn't work well with Me. I just preferred Vengeance's more direct Adventure/Stealth style.
I do also have Vengeance on PC too. It's just a really shoddy Port when It coems to the Lighting and Character Animations. Enemies just have static faces and the Lighting doesn't have any actual shading.
I am hoping to see a Modding Scene open up for Vengeance on PC, though. That would be amazing and Is something 8/9 year old Me wanted back In 2001.

I often think of things to buy now so when and if I have kids, they'd have something cool waiting for them but the toys now really aren't the same. Hot toys and some funko pops can be cool. Developer Eurocom (Predator Concrete Jungle, Mortal Kombat Gold) definitely had the right idea with Batman Begins but unfortunately the end result was a bit of a letdown. The whole "scare your enemies" mechanic that they were boasting about sounded really cool...but in reality you don't actually come up with ways to scare them as it's already predetermined in each situation how to do it. Bummer. Overall though the game is solid, especially for a movie based tie in.

Mr Matty, good sir, when are you gonna play Daggerfall Unity? Even if you don't I love the work you are doing and I think playing these older titles is very important for the gaming industry and community.

I bought Batman Dark tomorrow at GameStop (I think it was an EB games at the time which was weird since I always thought EB games were in Canada only but anyway) when I opened up Batman dark tomorrow it was Batman begins instead and after seeing this video I’m so glad I had gotten a way better game since I did have a blast playing that game 😮‍💨

What I remember as a kid was The Batman begins game was good but I’m guessing it wasn’t as a game today or even back in 2005 lol

I have fond memories of playing these games, but I hated the batmobile chase level in Vengeance. It tripped me up so much!

Vengeance led to the Arkham series, it laid the foundation

I loved Vengeance and Begins. They were so much fun to play when I was a kid, especially Vengeance. My favorite level was the Batwing VS Freeze Copter.
Sadly I never played Rise of Sin Tzu. It never really piqued my interest.

Batman Begins introduced the concept of scaring enemies and using fear years before Arkham

Oh yes I remember Dark Tomorrow, probably the only game I have EVER returned. 😂
The thing that really killed it for me was when the guns came in. You COULD NOT mess up certain gun sections cause you were dead! Just stun lockee by never-ending gunfire pretty much 😡

Dark Tomorrow made rise of Sin Tzu look like the best Batman game ever when I traded Dark Tomorrow for Rise of Sin Tzu. 😅

Brooo, don't remind me of the Poison Ivy levels, so eerie, and that bandaged up henchmen, like man, when I saw him in the manual, I wasn't looking forward to running into to him
