When they sang this song on the NBC show the Sing Off (they won in 2013) they were told to change it up. They gave it a reggae/calypso beat. It works! Adam is crazy good. Love Tim’s last note and that sly smile at the end. Good one!!!😍😄
Which makes it so interesting that Adam changed it up to more of a Calypso beat for this video, among other changes to the vocal percussion, including the new entrance.
My favorite version. Pretty much the same arrangement as the one with Avi, although the percussion is quite different - obviously more mature and varied.
Yes they sung this when they were on the Sing Off the year they won then did a video with Avi 9 years ago. Now this one which is part of their As Seen On TV album it a album to celebrates their 10 year Anniversary of their win on the show consisting of the songs they sang on the show the other videos they have released off the album are. Psychodelic reggae. A good song, and this is certainly a good one, can be interpreted many ways, so it doesn't bother me whenever something is not like the original. I think Johnny himself would enjoy this upbeat acceptance of the danger of love. I've loved all three recorded versions that HF has made.

As good as this version is I love the version with Avi in it so much better. Just my person preference though.
I appreciate the spin they put on the song… but strayed too far from the original in my opinion. Still a fan though!
