I'm also 27 and I was also 7 when I first got this game, it was the 8th game I owned overall. Though I think I rented it several times before then, when I was 6.
When I was young and playing this, (too young to actually understand what I was doing) The “orange” option on the profile menu looked more appealing than the bananas. So I pressed it, deleting a file. It also causes a cutscene if I remember correctly, which I enjoyed. This led to me deleting my brothers’ profile of god only knows how many hours. They were nice to me but I could tell they were piiiiisssed!😂

This game makes me sad. I REALLY wanted to play it as a kid but the graphics made me so dizzy that I couldn't play it for more than 30 mins. I even tried playing it laying down but It still made me feel sick. What makes me even more sad is that I tried to watch this playthrough and it also made me dizzy. Something about some of the 64games just don't sit right with my brain. I was fine playing Mario 64, Zelda, and racing games though. :/

Wow this brings back memories I remember I used to be a little scared playing dk64 since it had a dark ethstitic but looking back at it now Its still weird to me but I'm looking forward to playing it someday
I sincerely think that this games problems that people hate this game-for are 100% chalked up to the limitations of the N64 hardware and the harsh development of the game. I feel if they had more time and some more modern hardware and no limitations it would of been loved so much more. If this game came out on the GameCube it would of been loved way more.
When the N64 came out i played several games on it however around that time computers were starting to make their presence felt and i abandoned console playing to do other things and eventually went to playing computer games. For some reason when you play on a PC, console playing is just not that attractive anymore,nothing to do with graphics in my case,just have everything i need on my PC, fast forward all these years later and with the advent of emulators and all that i have been playing all these games for the first time and having a blast,i played half of Turok 2 seeds of evil back then and finished it recently,it a killer game for sure, all these games are a treasure.

One of the most brutal (in difficulty terms) games on Nintendo 64, Mad Jack drove me past the point of insanity while that damn DK arcade machine led to 5 broken controllers..Still this game is good

One of the most brutal (in difficulty terms) games on Nintendo 64, Mad Jack drove me past the point of insanity while that damn DK arcade machine led to 5 broken controllers..Still this game is good
I always found the hardest part to be the two Beaver Bother mini games in Creepy Castle. Those frustrated me more than anything else did.

I remember getting most of them on first try, but for some of the later ones (especially Beaver Bother in Creepy Castle), yeah there was lots of off-screen fails :p
