Thank you!!! one of mine housing is missing - the previous owners covered it up with drywall and I finally got enough nerve to look. It just one round hole. I capped the wires because they didn't, but I am looking for the proper housing so I can switch to LED flush mounts for all 4 in the kitchen. Very HELPFUL!
I know, trends change. This year we love can lights, next year we want traditional lights. Thank you for watching. Check out hundreds more of our videos at www.aroundthehome.org

Huh, maybe I need to make a video for that too. Just take a thin screwdriver and wedge it behind the top of the clip. You should be able to pull it back down in the unlocked position. Thank you for watching. Check out hundreds more of our videos at www.aroundthehome.org
You know, I went back and watched it and you are right. I did glaze over that. Sometimes I need feedback like this. To me it was just straitening out the wires coming from ceiling and pushing them into the push wire connectors. Black to black and white to white. But I can see that viewers like you would have liked to see that actually happen. Thank you for watching. Check out hundreds more of our videos at www.aroundthehome.org
@@AroundTheHome1 well the reason I did make mention is because I tried that very thing and apparently my wires are too thick to make the actual connection because I did exactly as I thought I should be doing and my light does not work and I'm thinking it's because the wire is too thick to go through the holes of those little plastic connectors
@@AroundTheHome1 Nevermind, I found a video that showed me my glaring fault, I was trying to connect the wires on the clear side, when they were supposed to join on the orange side, I feel like a dope LOL!
@Cathie Asti, I'm glad that you got it figured out. Sorry I glazed right over that part. Do you have the light fixture picked out already for your new can fixtures?
They are a pain to remove. You have to grab those 3 clamp hooks and pull them back out. They are kind of locked in position, so getting them started is the trick. Once they start to open, then you got it. Use a thin flat head screwdriver and sometimes even a paint can opener. It takes a little bit of patience on it, but it is possible.

Good job. Very helpful. I picked up your use of the term "negative", tells me you are more familiar with DC circuits.
Or maybe I just started off learning DC. So glad to help! Thank you for watching. Check out hundreds more of our videos at www.aroundthehome.org

I just used a Can converter kit to make my parents can light into a regular light. Kind of the opposite of what you did here. Ha. Good tutorial.

Are they supposed to get really hot to the touch? I changed out a light cover and the housing was so hot I couldn't touch it.
Did you have halogen bulbs in it? They will get very hot and heat up the housing as well.
@@AroundTheHome1
Not sure. But will be sure not to use them. That housing was untouchable and I was concerned about a fire hazzard .
You might consider upgrading them to these babies! ruclips.net/video/GCqsIm1bIcU/видео.html
How do you remove one? Trying to figure out how to flip those clips back out.

Didn't mention depth of can before start of install
What do you mean?
I wish you had taken a few seconds to show the actual wiring with those orange bits, otherwise great vid!

How do I remove those type of remodel cans? They are a pain In the ass

Nothing says modern like a new LED can light in a popcorn ceiling 🤮
Well, not everyone has the money to strip the ceilings. It's one step at a time for most of us.
You failed to explain how to connect each of the color wires. This was not that helpful. Thank you.
Black to black, white to white.
