Loved the video! It really helps when you compare one product to the other. I have large puffy bags with extreme blue and purple in the corner of my eyes. After I started watching you, I began using a brighter which had great results for me. Getting more sleep would help too. I am in my sixties and feel like a first grader learning to do makeup but I am loving the journey especially with you as my guide. Thank you for spreading the sunshine!
I am 66 and I have rarely used makeup in the past. I have clear beautiful skin...but, it is so translucent I have blue veining in my cheeks. Your channel has been a beauty saver for me. People rarely know I'm using makeup because I have a really light hand with it. You've taught that to me. I have been transitioning into using eye shadow as well. I'm loving the look. Plagued with dark circles at 71 and unpredictable bags from environmental allergies. I honestly never knew about color correcting until I found you last year. It is a game changer but finding the right one for my under eye is challenging. I use peachy now and it is good but some days its a battle. Will be trying your brightening stick.

I have been fighting with my dark circles for almost 50 years and am trying to embrace them (while still covering them up!). My favorite products are a Vitamin K eye cream, the Ulta undereye primer or the Peter Thomas Roth Temporary Eye Tightener. The latter product is tricky, if you use too much it will pill and become unworkable, but the lightest hand makes a BIG difference so it’s worth figuring it out. Then I use the a concealer (current favorites are the Clarins Instant Concealer or the Lancôme Teint Idole All Over Concealer. I’m not sure why no one talks about the Clarins, it’s phenomenal. Then I take the slightest bit of the Charlotte Tilbury Magic concealer, just where it is dark. It sounds like a lot, but thin layers are key. Honorable mentions to the Sisley Phyto Cernes Eclat (pricey but lasts forever, some days this is all I wear as it is also skincare) and the Westman Atelier II (magic brightener color for me). A good concealer brush is also key. I have tried a bunch but my favorite is the one from Beauty pie that is kind of like a wedge shape. It just doesn’t pick up too much product.
I agree about Clarins instant concealer, it is very creamy,light,good coverage, definitely, underrated..
Wonderful video! The choices and decisions are mind boggling. It's so helpful seeing her put the different products on so we can see how they glide, or don't glide, on, as well as the tint, and how she applies it. I'm using a yellow corrector on my dark circles currently (my skin has a yellow undertone), covered over with a skin-tone concealer over it. It works pretty well, but I'm curious about the pink-toned correctors. Also helpful seeing how she uses the brushes. I love seeing a woman over 50 (or whatever), who looks gorgeous AND has smarts and personality, and who shows her flaws, showing she's human.
I put a few tiny dots of color corrector in the inner corners only. Then a light coverage concealer over it, and on the outside corners with the lift technique. Anything more will crease and "create" wrinkles.

I have circles under my eyes & sometimes puffiness. I found that a thicker stick foundation (by Hourglass), in a lighter color than my foundation, not painted on like lipstick, but dabbed, then blended in with a foundation brush, works best for me. Then, I mix the regular foundation with a serum & apply it sparingly as well, then blend it all in with the hourglass using a foundation brush). The trick for me, is to put the hourglass on very low, & I got the idea from you, Nikol! It works brilliantly. I put it in the upper corners, then over the top of my cheekbone in the center, almost in a diamond shape. Then I blend my foundation (Lancome') over the top with the foundation brush, & am careful to blend well. It must be used sparingly, on well moisturized skin like you suggest, to avoid looking caked on my skin. Thanks for the tip. It's made a BIG difference in the appearance of my undereye circles.
An additional note for health nuts is, undereye circles can be a sign that your liver is working overtime. When I stay on a diet that is friendly to my liver (that's probably another video!), it really helps reduce the appearance of the circles. I have been using Just Peachy for the last six months and it has been a game changer for me. I either use Cognito or the Elf Creamy Concealer. I do use a little bit of setting powder under my eyes and love how it looks without being cakey.

I am 57 and my face is loosing volume. I have had dark circles all of my life and absolutely have to have colour corrector (orange) and concealer to help mask the circles and reduce the hollow appearance. The challenge is finding a product that does not make my under eyes look like dry reptile skin and emphasize my fine lines. I am not a heavy foundation user as my skin is actually in very good condition however I do have fine lines around my eyes and corners a little around he corners of my mouth. I will give some of your suggestions a whirl but I’ve tried so many brands that I am skeptical. I would appreciate a recommendation for an orange colour corrector that won’t look dry or blend with the concealer. Love your channel! Thank you

I have dark circles and serious bags under my eyes. Years ago I had gone to Aveda for a facial. The woman who worked on me was a miracle worker. I looked at my face later while still in the salon. I was in an area where the sun was shining in and this was back when they had makeup. I looked in the mirror and was stunned! Not only were the dark circles gone but the bags were smaller. I asked her how she did that. She replied that I had blood trapped under the skin and she had tap-tap-tapped it away when she was working on my face. I can't remember all that she did because it was so long ago. I remember her being aggressive with the eye area. Not just gentle tapping. I have not been able to duplicate it entirely but I did notice if I do some serious tapping on top of the really dark part, it gets less. I have no idea how she got the bags to be smaller. I know she is no longer there at that particular Aveda salon.

I’ve noticed increasing my Potassium helps with puffiness under the eyes. RDA is 4700 mg (for reference 1 banana, potato, glass of milk is about 400 mg)

It’s amazing that someone would think it’s okay to ask you that. You may want to limit exposure to that person. Check with your dermatologist to see what options are available to help with the darkness. Consultations for aesthetic treatments are often free in my area. Or ask while you have another reason for an appointment such as what I call a “mole check” -look over my body annually for possible skin cancer -which may be covered by your insurance (though aesthetic treatments are not covered). 💖

How interesting to read women being offended by what was probably meant to be a helpful remark. I used to get dark smudges under my eyes from mascara. Solved the problem by using less moisturizer.

The darker the corrector it's better to then add concealer. I even tried a reddish one. Seriously. It works.

Question: So far, I haven’t heard you mention primer for the face. Maybe I have missed it, but it seems that you go from serum to moisturizer straight to BB cream or foundation. Do you feel that primer is an unnecessary step or ???? Thanks so much…
Under eye circles are a constant issue for me - always trying various color correctors and concealers. Interestingly though, I may focus on my undereye circles (after make up) and still see them, but in photos they aren't as noticeable as I think. (Similar to the tip to take a photo of self after trying on an outfit rather than relying on what you see in the mirror.) I appreciate all of your tips and tricks for mature women! Thank you.
Thank you for such amazing tips. I use the wet and wild and love it Good coverage and very moisturizing. I live in a very dry climate and getting enough moisturizer is tough.I do use hyaluronic serum, moisturizer and tinted moisturizer all SPF 30 + Great info, I loved the technique around the eyes, that definitely will be something I put into play. Thank you for keeping us so well informed . 55 here and you keep me appreciative of my age.

Nikol, I took notes from this video to try the prep skin products. I use green color corrector (NYX HD) & Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser (multi-use concealer) in 110 (a very light beige). Both are very reasonable on Amazon.

Well, of course, I have been doing it wrong. I put the concealer on first and then Just Peachy. I do love it! I also recently started using Dermablend concealer and I really like it.

I have a problem with my concealer and foundation creasing in my wrinkles. I have watched your videos and have learned so much so I thought you may be able to give me some help with this problem. I really hate the creasing under my eyes and even in my eye shadow. I have purchased your brushes, just peachy, eye primer, eye brightener, color corrector, lip liner and lipsticks. Nikol, I trust your advice/tips/instructions and appreciate you! My problem with undereye coverage right now is that I use a poreless primer but then the concealer pills and/or settles in my lines. Should I just be careful to skip the primer in the undereye area? I love the blur effect of the primer!
I used Avene's retrinal for eyes, and saw a dramatic improvement in my dark circles. It took about 3months, but it really made a difference
I try to follow your suggestions and love Just Peachy. What do you suggest for keeping the products from sitting in the lines in the under eye bags?

Following your advice, I use a color corrector first and then apply my concealer. My skin looks so fresh even when I'm not wearing anything else. The thing is I can't get your "peachy". It's looks so creamy and longlasting.
Wonderful video! You always go from normal to stunning!! I use your Eye Brightener and sometimes a concealer over or just Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear All Over Concealer if I'm in a hurry. @NikolJohnson have you ever tried Dior Forever face makeup? I absolutely love it (even though it's pricey) and would be very interested in what you thought.

Hi Nikol, just started watching you. I've always had dark blue circles under my eyes, I'm very fair (now grey) and no matter what I use or what I do the concealer goes into my crepey skin..........
I did do some practicing yesterday and I guess I'll just keep practicing until I get better at it.
I first use Maybelline Age Rewind in peachy pink for color correcting. Then I use the same brand concealer in a slightly yellow color over that. I let it set for a minute of two, and then I VERY lightly powder under my eyes with a whitish powder made from crushed pearls. This process works great for me, and I hardly have any creasing occur throughout the day.
I need this badly! I never had dark circles when I was young up until my mid 59's. I am 62, now, and in almost constant pain from head to toe from severe arthritis and with that I have developed dark circles under my eyes! I am so upset about it! ) :

Interesting, Tracy...I never had dark circles either, but they came on in my late 50s as well, also at the time my arthritis got much worse. Poor sleep? Reduced circulation because I'm not able to exercise as much? I do think there's a thyroid component too, but doctors today are so resistant to even investigating thyroid problems.
This is SO helpful. I really battle dry/flakey skin in the inner corner of both eyes. This hinders almost every concealer I try to work with. Any suggestions on what can be used in that inner most corner to alleviate the dry flakey skin?
