Hi Nikol, I am discovering skin care and makeup in my 50s. I seem to be sporadic about it, but since I found your channel, I've found the fun in it. You've inspired me to want to get made up for the day even when I'm hanging out around the house. I went through chemo six years ago and it wrecked my lashes and brows. It made me not really want to go through the trouble of even putting on mascara. I did get microblading because I looked ghostly. It's hard for me to follow makeup tutorials because I"m Asian and my lids are different. But, you've encouraged me to just try things and not worry about mistakes. Also, as you said, "less is more" as we age. I was trying to follow young people and discovered I only looked cakey and worse with makeup. I've purchased over $200 of your products and am loving them all. I don't use them all, all of the time, but it's nice to have access to what works. Thank you for representing us and loving us enough to provide your product line.
Congrats on surviving your illness and trying to make the most of your days now. Imo when it comes to makeup, just take each day as it comes and stick with the basics when you don't want to go to the trouble of applying makeup. Perhaps a tinted moisturizer and a lipgloss or sheer lipstick is all you need to feel good some days. As far as watching influencers, I recommend watching women who are 40+, because they know that our skin care needs are different. There's an Asian American woman I recommend who is in her 50s; her name is Michele Wang. Although she's not a makeup artist, she routinely applies classy and simple makeup that is perfect for women in our age bracket. The way she applies her eyeshadow is lovely and I really think it might give you some good ideas, as she probably has similar eye and facial features that you might have. Just wanted to say, i had gone to your beauty website, I put a few items I really wanted in my cart (makeup brushes included), and was debating whether to purchase all that I had in the cart, or purchase half and wait a couple of weeks to purchase the rest. Last night my brother came to visit and asked: "where is your christmas list? I need to know because Im clueless what to get you". 😁Needless to say, he purchased ALL the items I wanted. Eye shadow, beautiful colors that go on wonderful even when you are learning like me. I just ordered your eyelines (wow does it go on easy). Lipstick and gloss. I usually like a more spendy foundation cause I am older and figured I had to have a "better"product, but I tried the Cover Girl Clean Milk foundation on your recommendation and really like it! It is a "like skin" look and feeling, not like paint, doesn't emphasize lines, very moisturizing and breathable, feels like nothing on my skin. Thanks for the recommendation!

I appreciate that much of the tutorials you do feature products that aren't PR so that you can give your audience the benefit of your experience as a makeup artist, and evaluate them truthfully. You've introduced me to a lot of wonderful and affordable products, I'm a drugstore girl, but learning about the high-end products serves me well too when I find myself in a position to splurge. As far as your hyperpigmenation , or other things people like to bring up, lets face it, you are beautiful and that brings out a little of the green eyed monster in people, myself included 😉.

Eye shadow, beautiful colors that go on wonderful even when you are learning like me. I just ordered your eyelines (wow does it go on easy). Lipstick and gloss. I usually like a more spendy foundation cause I am older and figured I had to have a "better"product, but I tried the Cover Girl Clean Milk foundation on your recommendation and really like it! It is a "like skin" look and feeling, not like paint, doesn't emphasize lines, very moisturizing and breathable, feels like nothing on my skin. Thanks for the recommendation!

You've introduced me to a lot of wonderful and affordable products, I'm a drugstore girl, but learning about the high-end products serves me well too when I find myself in a position to splurge. As far as your hyperpigmenation , or other things people like to bring up, lets face it, you are beautiful and that brings out a little of the green eyed monster in people, myself included 😉.

I would love if you made an updated video on how to find your skin color and skin tone, cool/warm, so that you can buy the right color 🙏🏼 I either end up looking like a pumpkin or completely pale. 😝 And warm brown eyeshadow makes me look like I got a blue eye (have green eyes, lots of freckles and dark brown hair).
