*PRE ARRIVAL* FULLY INVOLVED RV FIRE - Henderson Fire Department

- On June 18th, 2024, Henderson Fire And Police Departments were dispatched to reports of a fully involved RV fire close to a house and other vehicles. Henderson Police Department arrived and shut down the surrounding streets. Henderson Fire Department Engine 99 was first due and quickly knocked down the main fire before Engine 91, Battalion Chief 9, and Operations Support Officer arrived. Fire Investigator 2 also responded and is investigating the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported.

Trying to help with a garden hose is pointless. Possibly deadly since so many things can explode in vehicles.
Trying to cool down an exposed surface may help a bit.

Nothing wrong with using water hose. Atleast he’s trying to water it down then it gets worse or maybe get it put out a little till fire dept arrives. Everyone always try’s to be negative to people trying to help as much as they can.

Stepped off the engine with mask in place. Roughly 1:20 from time of arrival until foam was flowing into the RV. That's how you do a quick attack folks! Excellent job Henderson Fire!

Instant flashover in minutes if not seconds. Good old plastics this day in age. Firefighters may not get as many fires as previous generations, but the fires that do happen are so much more prone to flashover. It used to be you had 15-20 minutes to get out. Now it's 5 minutes or less. If flashover hasn't happened yet, there's unfortunately a high chance it will happen through a backdraft. At the very least the smoke is also potent enough much more quickly to kill of instant smoke inhalation. Within seconds more than 70 years worth of smoking can get you just like that

Thank you! He asked FD where they wanted us and we moved back to the cone line. I respect the cops and they respect me too. They were cool about it but due to explosions and safety reasons they had everyone back up.
@@Critical911 understandable however your the only 1 responsible for your safety not anyone else’s, homeowners got to watch from there doorsteps along people up the street, plus the likelihood of it exploding when it’s already fully engulfed it’s very rare possibility.
Great coverage, you have a good eye. You don’t want to get arrested so I think you played it right. If you do a lot of video coverage, try and get to know the police officers and fire fighter that you will see on scene. Offer to email them a copy of your work product or give them your card with your info on how to access your site. Everyone is so angry nowadays so being nice and professional will get you far in this game.

Cop needed to be stronger on getting the GS's away from that RV though. If you never saw an RV propane tank vent or BLEVE you don't know how dangerous that can be. Two years ago I was first on scene for an RV fire at a delearship. the employees were trying to use FE's to put it out but it was already way past that stage. Had to warn one manager twice to get away from the fire and then saw him go back in the danger zone a minute later to try an move a nearby RV. Told him he needed to get clear or I was going to have him arrested for trespassing on my fire ground (I was the IC at the time). About 10 seconds after he came around the corner of the engine the first 40 gallon LP tank vented horizontally, right through the spot he was standing 30 seconds before. The second tank overpressure vent failed and it BLEVE'ed sending the tank and shrapnel through the same space.
He came up to me after the fire was out and thanked me for saving him and he learned his lesson.
I know a guy who can make it look as good as new. Those lil scratches will buff right out.
