as someone who struggles with completing a song due to relatively poor structural management, the way you've worked (by just writing down the chords and the melody first) is so simple, yet so mind breaking for me. literally the biggest takeaway imo. I would really appreciate a more indepth mixing/mastering tutorial because I still find it hard to mix a song in such a way that the main focus (mostly vocals) are clearly heard without getting disturbed by the background. (and without maxing the volume)

i think the most important thing (which it’s often overlooked) is the arrangement, i usually write a rhythm guitar (L ear) with more “normal” 7th chords which use the top 4 lower strings and the lead guitar (R ear) plays usually the highest 3 strings in a higher register so they don’t clash and create a big chord instead when stacked together of course there’s also EQ and compression and high pass on the reverb sends to make sure it’s not muddy on the low end! hope this helps, feel free to join my discord if you need a more detailed answer or if you have more questions!
Kasane Teto and KAFU are technically not vocaloid characters indeed 😅 but i believe that it’s not misleading to put them in the same thumbnail since they are part of the same vibe / musical aesthetic! plus the song from the tutorial it is a Hatsune Miku song using vocaloid 6! thank you for watching!

When making a song, are the lyrics written first and the sounds later to fit to the lyrics or first the music and then the lyrics but making changes so they both sound good? 🤔
i truly depends! it’s different for everyone but i would say that generally speaking it’s always the music first and lyrics last, sometimes people write the melody and the lyrics simultaneously over a previously written track (if that makes sense) this is because in j-pop / k-pop music or pop music in general the songs will be pitch to different artists and the language may change or the content might be adapted… now for vocaloid music sometimes people like to write from a concept or maybe even lyrics first but i would say it’s not as common in my experience! thanks for watching!!
