To be fair, that was during a time even a couple years ago when explicitly conservative media outlets had a bad collective reputation for fear mongering and constantly connecting social issues to the direct destruction of the family unit...
Now sometimes I think they're onto something -as speculative as their ideas can be - but I totally get why Maher dismissed that idea that it would take over society to some extent.
This is because many right wingers have been constantly braying about this and that social trend that will destroy the human race, so it's hard to tell when they're actually correct

I grew up in a privileged household in what was then called the Third World.
My family moved to the West (at the time West Germany) shortly before the wall came down.
After three military dictatorships and having seen people die in the gutter out of sheer poverty, I know very well where I want to live and where I don't.
We, the West, need to control access to our societies in order to maintain a place for modern humanity to live. Not out of fear, but out of a sense of duty to preserve what has been achieved.

Utter bollocks. You need to stop interfering in other countries first. Wherever the West has interfered in the past 70 years unless it was Yugoslavia or Somalia, it has made things worse. What the west and particularly the US needs to do is to reform its trade system to share its wealth with the less well off and lift the standard of living in all countries. This is the only way to make the west truly safe. For christs sake.

Ah, the paradoxical musings of Bill Maher! First, he regurgitates the accusation that Trump is crazy, and in the very next breath, nonchalantly brushes off the Afghanistan withdrawal as if it were a minor inconvenience. In his words, "I don't give a fuck". The cognitive dissonance hits anyone with an IQ above that of the average lab rat pretty hard. It appears Bill's intellectual consistency is on vacation, again, leaving us with quite the spectacle of a man who is OBVIOUSLY controlled by the liberal establishment and Hollywood. So I'll ask all of you: is being a rich Democrat donor to Hillary Clinton worth the memory loss that so many liberal ideologs seem to suffer from? What a sad devotion to a failing ideology. If you ask me, I wouldn't give up my memory for any amount of wealth and fame. It's obvious that Bill Maher certainly did, a long time ago.

"Can we just celebrate the Great Replacement?" - Bill Maher

    • @degenerate.3574
      @degenerate.3574 4 месяца назад

The fact that he calls making sure there is a lesser percentage of whites around and more people of color "Good Progress" is wild AF to me. How people don't view this as an ethnic cleansing, or replacement is mind-boggling. Imagine saying... Getting less POCs around and more Whites is "Good Progress" They would clearly see how wrong it is then though.
If China lets in 10% White people into their Country, then 20%, then those 20% whites convince the Chinese that they are evil because they are not diverse enough yet, so China lets in even more. Now 30%, 40%, then 50%. Then those new White immigrants to China which are now 50% of the Country start to make the governments look like them, the media look like them, the billboards, the movies, everything look like them.
There is absolutely NO WAY you could say the Chinese weren't clearly replaced. This is what is happening to western White Countries. People are gonna look back in 100 yrs and be like "What happened to the White European Countries long ago?" "Did they lose a war for their land or something?"
Nope they just replaced themselves. They gave their land to people of other Countries out of guilt lol. Just kept letting everyone from other Countries in until it was no longer theirs 😂🤣😂🤣 China probably thinks we are dumb as $h!t, or they are behind the west's demographic changes themselves???

while ALSO believing that there are a lot of nutjobs who cheer on their team even when their team is clearly fucking up and making stupid decisions and not exercising and doing lots of drugs (like America is).
Maher's take is that you can't just cheer mindlessly all the time - if you care about a person, you cheer them when they're doing well for real only. When they're not doing so well, it doesn't make sense to keep saying they're "the greatest and best most beautiful ever"

When GWB's administration was heading out and making way for BHO, Maher did a thing he called something like "Goodbye Douchebag" where he lists all the people who were no longer going to be in the news, all the GWB people like Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld, etc. Everyone in the audience keeps cheering as he points out Republican after Republican. Then, out of nowhere, he shows a picture of Saddam Hussein. The room went quiet. His take was something like, you have to be glad the guy is gone. Which *should have" suddenly brought into focus that the whole reason they were against GWB was his invasion of Iraq which took out Saddam Hussein. Yes, it's a real, diagnosable mental illness called "Trump Anxiety Disorder", even though it'll probably never get into the DSM. I voted for Hillary in 2016 so I've been on that side. But then Trump won and. . . not only did the world NOT end, my life was much more secure during his presidency than before; and America was respected by the countries who mock us now.
And fwiw, I'm NOT white and I'm NOT a man. Trump can be crude and rude, and I wouldn't want to be his wife, but he did make America safer both here and abroad. Bill just has Trump Anxiety Disorder (and WAY more money than the average American like me) so he's incapable of acknowledging ANYTHING good about Trump.

During covid we were essential workers so we had to show up same as always. We were scraping ice off our windshields in the cold winter, having to heat up the truck, had to be at work at at a certain time, work, then at lunch had 25 minutes to microwave our lunch, or eat it cold, then be back out on the floor while others sat at home in front of a computer in their bathrobe. I got tired of people who complained about staying at home , or they were victims, while guys like us literally did the heavy lifting to keep the country moving. I remember the price of fishing boats was sky high during covid. So many people were out fishing. Big screen TVs were sold out.

Cognitive dissonance (the obvious ones even I could figure out)
13:43 Asked if there is a middle way, ie partially deny ”Trans women are women”, ducks the question.
14:52 Asked again, says he does not ”want to pretend” implicates people think the question is too dangerous, but still does not say it right out.
34:30 ”Looks like its the same now.” Ducks the immigration question because he cant even say ”maybe Trump was right”, or criticize Biden. Instead criticizes ”the republicans” for immigration.
37:45 ”Trump is Hitler!”, ”but Im not comparing him to Hitler.”
38:38 ”Trump is stupid, and a genius”
39:46 ”Trump does not concede elections” (and the implications is that makes him evil)
40:35 Tries to deny that Hillary did not concede the election. Since the Trigg guys are smart, the were prepared. But later Bill only admits that one time.
40:39 Konstantin declares that the ”Russia collusion” story is election denial. Important context.
40:55 Bill disagrees and ”Trump won the election , partly because ’Russia collusion’.” ”Very close election.” So Bill denies the results of the 2016 election.
41:40 Denies Hillary denied the election more than once. I am not american but I have heard her say it multiple times calling him a ”false president”. Calls the Trigg guys ”ridiculous” for comparing Trump and Hillary election denial. They took it well. Hillary did not take it to court, but there were lots of demonstrations against Trump. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_protests_against_Donald_Trump
41:45 ”Democrats are not the ones denying elections.” Except that ”one” time Hillary did it, and when Bill did it just now when he said Trump only won because of Russia collusion. And all the times Stacy Abrams did it 44:42. At least Bill had admitted that last one.

Bill knows thats a line he cant cross if he wants to stay in the entertainment industry, Heaps of countries are losing faith in the US. African countries are looking to China to solve their problems, and they want nothing to do with LGBT/Trans ideology or compelled speech. Even Democrat leaders are saying the woke policies on policing and crime have failed. The black Democrat mayor of Wash DC said just the other day, that her city has turned into a war zone and nobody is safe from crime and violence. She said they are hiring more police and telling DA's to hold criminals in jail. This is a massive back flip by Democrats, there was riots and billions of dollars damage in 2020 to push defund the police. Now they are doing the opposite because surprise the country is turning into a hell hole..
I think its 100% true that the terrorist attacks on Israel, the Ukraine invasion, and China making threats, is because the world thinks the US woke left government is weak.

I actually think its people who are bothered and triggered by Bill that have the deep ideology problem. If most the conversation was fine for you and then you get bothered right away by his statement about Trump, you are the one stuck in your ideology. He hates on Biden as well, more seriously than your typical Republican.

Bill has a point on the recession, because it affects presidential elections. People vote their pockets EVERY time. The US economy goes through recession about every 10 years, we are overdue for a serious recession and the orange man is running again. So, I bet you Bill doesn’t want a recession now, because the US is facing an existential crisis with an orange man running again. And don’t worry, nobody goes hungry in the US during the recession, hard times in the US are not as hard as you might think.
