They should’ve made the game like this where you choose a faction and then you have a story ark on that faction then you go against other factions online that would be a cool concept like a ongoing nuclear war with online players
So, like every single Fallout game except multiplayer? That is a good idea but having the first (main) area be completely dead and act as a sandbox playground for the players to build a base, fight and hang out works much better, game would definitely be worse than even Fallout Shelter if they didn't include multiple areas which act like Fallout games, which I hope they're at least planning to implement them

Story is decent but it’s not bad, it’s fair to say it’s the worse in Mainline Fallout games, but being worse in Fallout mainline game isn’t bad. RPG wise it may has he best mechanics in all Fallout game. I almost exclusively play cRPG. I play all the infinity engine games, all the dnd games, the DOSes, the Icewind Dales, Arcanum, PoEs (I don’t play JRPG, be cause it isn’t RPG) - none of the Fallout game has ever given the player the freedom to play exactly how they wanted to play as this game offered.

There are also some graphic mods, but they dont change the look that mutch. Just things like better water, bigger moon, better skyboxes and growing nature. Edit : and bigger cackes if you know.
I would say F76 because F:BoS it had a decent gameplay, basically it was a DarkAllice style and most of all it DINT CAME OUT BROKEN TO OBLIVION like it did with F76 when it came in 2018 no to mention its always online at all coust even in solo. So thats debatible
@navchinna I'm still having a lot of fun with it. I guess it's more linear than 4, where enemies scale to your level for the most part. You can start in level 20, but I choose 1 it just felt right. However if you want to start with better gear you could do that. Exploring will open up quests pretty consistently. I've kept busy for at least 10 hours of game play. Also you don't need to make in game purchases, I haven't at all and am doing just fine
You can get this game for £5 on PC. If you can afford it, try it. If you get 10 hours out of it with mates that's value. I enjoy just hopping on to play it
Hell, I got it for $30 on Christmas sale a few months after it came out. I bought it because my friend was talking about Fog Crawlers and a Gatling Plasma so I was like 'Aight, Imma give this a go!' Honestly, even for $30 I'd say it was worth it. I've sunk enough hours to get to level 50 on a character, left for a long time, and then came back after all the updates and HOLY FUCK there's WAY more stuff. Biggest new difference is the people; within 2 days I went from lvl 50 to lvl 130 and beat the Raider's Quest line.
Brand new player to the game and I don't agree with him. My one piece of advice is forget what you know about the other games. A week of playtime won't make you slaughter everything like in other games. This game focuses on you being more of a scavenger.
So WHAT??? Bigger doesn't always make it BETTER if the came turned out to be a disaster when it launch. Trust me the ratings will NEVER gonna change after that horrible first impression and leaving a bad taste in folks mouth when it came out

I didn’t like it much at first, but I started playing with my brother and when you have someone to play with it makes it a million times more fun. It’s actually one of my fav games to play at this time. Theres alot to do and tons of cool creatures to fight.
Started last year after avoiding it for years and only played for like half an hour because it was confusing and kind of daunting. Picked it up again last week and pushed through for an hour, and tried just playing the quests like a normal fallout game. Now I've done several events, had alot of player interactions, and overall I'm upset that I didn't give it a real chance way sooner.
I like fallout 76 more i will admit that but 4 has expenetially more story and worldbuilding that just comes from it being a singleplayer game your choices have actual consequences and will effect rhe world you walk around in cant say the same for f76 althoughi enjoy it more from a personal perspective someone who likes fallout game for being a fallout game 4 is better
As of 2023 it's still fun to play compared to most I don't see this dudes issue maybe he's not a true fallout fan or something but no fallout game has ever been multiplayer so playing solo with 76 isn't any different just makes it more fun to show off to newbies or compare outfits/camps with other veterans I would definitely suggest it but if you hate grinding this game will not be for you
Honestly if you rather play Fallout 3 than Fallout 76 you’re stuck in nostalgia and are just not an open minded person, re did 3,NV and 4 this summer, and now grinding 76 everyday and having a massive amount of fun

Play it with friends, the missions can be very boring especially early on, but the exploration, crafting, bas building, random encounters, events, are all fun to do in the game, its 100% better than it was a few years ago.

Fallout 76 is so over hated I rlly like it, I get it has some flaws but what fallout game doesn’t, if I’m honest the only two significant flaws I’ve noticed are the micro transactions are shite and the story could be much better but these do not effect me much, if you like fallout or rpgs in general I would absolutely recommend it. The games in a very good spot and getting a massive add on update to the map so I’d say now is the time the game is actually worth it to buy and play, I’ve played since beta and the game has come an unbelievably long way, it’s not fallout 4 or new Vegas but it offers a good time and a great way to meet new friends and other fans of the franchise, also the community is one of the best I’ve ever seen in gaming
As someone who loves destiny 2 (I know I should be taken out back and shot) fallout 76 is very cool and very fun to me. Also help my friends play I’m sure solo is still fun but would make higher level events so much more stressful trying to get randoms to join
Personally I’d put it over 4 at it’s state rn. Exploring the world is amazing. Each area is unique and interesting plus the added addition of the expansions of the Pitt and Atlantic City add so much more. Honestly the only thing that makes me not like it anymore is the store and micro transactions

I beg to differ when you said 76 is the worst game in the series. You must’ve forgotten about Tactics, Beotherhood of steel, and Shelter (which is fun, but it just isn’t really a fallout game)
The story’s they added over time were decent like the wayward and the raider vs settlers but after that’s completed theres not much to do except shoot and kill like every other game, the pvp would be alright if it wasnt so hard to initiate i wish instead of having to both shoot each other you could just go invisible on the map with a perk or chem and have safe areas like your camp or low level areas instead of the bs pvp initiation they have now
I was all about shitting on this game when it came out but I’ve been playing for a few weeks and I think it’s good. Appalachia is an interesting place to run around in and the lore is good. It’s a huge world too.
Playing for like 3 weeks now and not bad at all. There is a ton of content for beginners and endgame is decent. Sure better with friends but that’s true for most cooperative games
As someone who has been with this game since the stress test and after uninstalling multiple times over the years…. This game is currently the funnest one I own out of literally over 200 games PLUS game pass.

The games mid. Better than when it first launched but still very mid. If you’re a fan of the previous fallout games, then you will be disappointed with the things mentioned below. Pros: -unique customizations/ outfits -lots of interesting places to explore -free daily rewards -game chat -playing with friends -base building -BROTHERHOOD OF STEEL -fast introduction/start to the game. Cons: -repair system is terrible. -perk system is horrendous. -trying to make a solid build with the perk system is harder -cooking food no longer removes the rads from uncooked food (so there’s really no point in cooking food besides xp or slightly better benefits) -Not being able to loot a corpse bc a turret or other player killed it before u could -Most quests are tedious and boring, which involves you spending 30 min trying to obtain an item just for them to say “oh, I forgot that u need to go and grab this for it too” and you having to run back. -Fast traveling requires u to pay caps. -stims are weaker and added a diluted version of heals which are even weaker than the already weak stims/radaways -lots of lag/stuttering at times when more people are online -weapon modding is probably the worst I’ve ever seen in any game. You have to find the blueprints or dismantle the same gun in hopes that you get the attachment u need. So basically modding ur gun to be better won’t be as easy as just getting a perk for it. You could also buy the blueprints but they are very expensive. - ghouls are replaced with scorched enemies which can use weapons (they’re more annoying versions of ghouls) - dialogue is very small and hard to read when talking to NPCs. -the entire environment is not accurate at all to the lore or just in general and should not be as colorful/ healthy as what a wasteland should look like after a nuclear war. Especially considering that the bombs fell 25 YEARS PRIOR TO FALLOUT 76, and the game is a prequel to the others. Overall doesn’t feel like a fallout game. Just an MMORPG survival game with a nuclear theme. And a lot of micro transactions or features that try to persuade players into spending money for an easier experience. Obviously it’s not necessary to spend any money on this game, and I currently haven’t and probably will never spend money on in game items for this game.
I bought Fallout 76 when it just came out and haven’t played it until recently. And let me say its a great game im currently addicted to the game. I love it better than fallout 4 and the open world online map are great to meet others playing. I give it a 8.5/10

this game is literally ahead of every fallout other than new vegas in terms modern fallout. fallout 4 was literally nothing but graphics and gunplay, its story was genuinely trash and so were the side missions. characters either didnt make much sense in terms of personality and decision making or simply in terms of obvious lack of developer/VA effort, everything was predictable, and the saturation to quality ration was abysmal. only thing 4 brought was again refinement of crafting, lootpools, and game mechanics/gunplay. you cant compare these to fallout 1 and 2, which are literally a completely separate genre of videogame. doom now cant be compared to doom then. neither can skyrim or any long term game series. fallout 76 is the best thing we’ve had in terms of freshness and fun since new vegas. yeah story lacks, but the questlines have nice variety and don’t overwhelm you with options, character/VA quality is refreshing, most qualities 4 introduced 76 improved, and obviously FUCKING MULTIPLAYER and grindable shop currency. dont deter people from getting a game theyll enjoy, if you want story is lesser gameplay new vegas wins. if you want lesser story and fun gameplay PLUS MULTIPLAYER and several new mechanics especially compared to new vegas, go 76

Hell, I got it for $30 on Christmas sale a few months after it came out. I bought it because my friend was talking about Fog Crawlers and a Gatling Plasma so I was like 'Aight, Imma give this a go!'
Honestly, even for $30 I'd say it was worth it. I've sunk enough hours to get to level 50 on a character, left for a long time, and then came back after all the updates and HOLY FUCK there's WAY more stuff. Biggest new difference is the people; within 2 days I went from lvl 50 to lvl 130 and beat the Raider's Quest line.
As a huge fallout fan ( fallout 3 and after) im gonna buy this game.

Brand new player to the game and I don't agree with him.
My one piece of advice is forget what you know about the other games. A week of playtime won't make you slaughter everything like in other games. This game focuses on you being more of a scavenger.

I didn’t like it much at first, but I started playing with my brother and when you have someone to play with it makes it a million times more fun. It’s actually one of my fav games to play at this time. Theres alot to do and tons of cool creatures to fight.
Started last year after avoiding it for years and only played for like half an hour because it was confusing and kind of daunting. Picked it up again last week and pushed through for an hour, and tried just playing the quests like a normal fallout game. Now I've done several events, had alot of player interactions, and overall I'm upset that I didn't give it a real chance way sooner.

As of 2023 it's still fun to play compared to most I don't see this dudes issue maybe he's not a true fallout fan or something but no fallout game has ever been multiplayer so playing solo with 76 isn't any different just makes it more fun to show off to newbies or compare outfits/camps with other veterans I would definitely suggest it but if you hate grinding this game will not be for you

Play it with friends, the missions can be very boring especially early on, but the exploration, crafting, bas building, random encounters, events, are all fun to do in the game, its 100% better than it was a few years ago.

I just started playing and I love the game it’s wrong to put a bad opinion out there when the game is actually fun. You have most likely changed the minds of people who were thinking of playing the game when they most likely would have enjoyed it.
Fallout 76 is so over hated I rlly like it, I get it has some flaws but what fallout game doesn’t, if I’m honest the only two significant flaws I’ve noticed are the micro transactions are shite and the story could be much better but these do not effect me much, if you like fallout or rpgs in general I would absolutely recommend it.

The games in a very good spot and getting a massive add on update to the map so I’d say now is the time the game is actually worth it to buy and play, I’ve played since beta and the game has come an unbelievably long way, it’s not fallout 4 or new Vegas but it offers a good time and a great way to meet new friends and other fans of the franchise, also the community is one of the best I’ve ever seen in gaming

Personally I’d put it over 4 at it’s state rn. Exploring the world is amazing. Each area is unique and interesting plus the added addition of the expansions of the Pitt and Atlantic City add so much more. Honestly the only thing that makes me not like it anymore is the store and micro transactions

Hardcore Fallout fan who hated 76 on launch and subsequent years. Play the damn game. Yes it’s not perfect or what we expect from Fallout but it’s tons of fun
The thing that would hook players on is the score boards lasting forever so you can catch up on them after all they are free some
The start was hard, but since they fixed and added so much stuff. Its a nice online RPG with Friends and Open world.

For me an Xbox player get the gamepass first you will be able to play it for free but it's not worth the money it got alot of bugs but for free it's worth it

I beg to differ when you said 76 is the worst game in the series. You must’ve forgotten about Tactics, Beotherhood of steel, and Shelter (which is fun, but it just isn’t really a fallout game)
The story’s they added over time were decent like the wayward and the raider vs settlers but after that’s completed theres not much to do except shoot and kill like every other game, the pvp would be alright if it wasnt so hard to initiate i wish instead of having to both shoot each other you could just go invisible on the map with a perk or chem and have safe areas like your camp or low level areas instead of the bs pvp initiation they have now
I was all about shitting on this game when it came out but I’ve been playing for a few weeks and I think it’s good. Appalachia is an interesting place to run around in and the lore is good. It’s a huge world too.

Playing for like 3 weeks now and not bad at all. There is a ton of content for beginners and endgame is decent. Sure better with friends but that’s true for most cooperative games

it’s selling for like under a dollar on G2A get the key and simply redeem it, i bought it for my friends and it’s really fun. i like 4 but i always run out of ammo and stims/radx. what i like about 76 is the availability of resources

The games mid. Better than when it first launched but still very mid. If you’re a fan of the previous fallout games, then you will be disappointed with the things mentioned below.
Pros:
-unique customizations/ outfits
-lots of interesting places to explore
-free daily rewards
-game chat
-playing with friends
-base building
-BROTHERHOOD OF STEEL
-fast introduction/start to the game.
Cons:
-repair system is terrible.
-perk system is horrendous.
-trying to make a solid build with the perk system is harder
-cooking food no longer removes the rads from uncooked food (so there’s really no point in cooking food besides xp or slightly better benefits)
-Not being able to loot a corpse bc a turret or other player killed it before u could
-Most quests are tedious and boring, which involves you spending 30 min trying to obtain an item just for them to say “oh, I forgot that u need to go and grab this for it too” and you having to run back.
-Fast traveling requires u to pay caps.
-stims are weaker and added a diluted version of heals which are even weaker than the already weak stims/radaways
-lots of lag/stuttering at times when more people are online
-weapon modding is probably the worst I’ve ever seen in any game. You have to find the blueprints or dismantle the same gun in hopes that you get the attachment u need. So basically modding ur gun to be better won’t be as easy as just getting a perk for it. You could also buy the blueprints but they are very expensive.
- ghouls are replaced with scorched enemies which can use weapons (they’re more annoying versions of ghouls)
- dialogue is very small and hard to read when talking to NPCs.
-the entire environment is not accurate at all to the lore or just in general and should not be as colorful/ healthy as what a wasteland should look like after a nuclear war. Especially considering that the bombs fell 25 YEARS PRIOR TO FALLOUT 76, and the game is a prequel to the others.
Overall doesn’t feel like a fallout game. Just an MMORPG survival game with a nuclear theme. And a lot of micro transactions or features that try to persuade players into spending money for an easier experience. Obviously it’s not necessary to spend any money on this game, and I currently haven’t and probably will never spend money on in game items for this game.
It’s the best it’s ever been right now I think , I played before wastelanders was added so right now there is so much content for returning players

I bought Fallout 76 when it just came out and haven’t played it until recently. And let me say its a great game im currently addicted to the game. I love it better than fallout 4 and the open world online map are great to meet others playing. I give it a 8.5/10
Now with all updates right now and all the comments are like very old but right now is probably is golden years and is very good even though there is going to be haters but they just hate for the attention but the community of the game is nice and they give away stuff to newbie.

this game is literally ahead of every fallout other than new vegas in terms modern fallout. fallout 4 was literally nothing but graphics and gunplay, its story was genuinely trash and so were the side missions. characters either didnt make much sense in terms of personality and decision making or simply in terms of obvious lack of developer/VA effort, everything was predictable, and the saturation to quality ration was abysmal. only thing 4 brought was again refinement of crafting, lootpools, and game mechanics/gunplay. you cant compare these to fallout 1 and 2, which are literally a completely separate genre of videogame. doom now cant be compared to doom then. neither can skyrim or any long term game series. fallout 76 is the best thing we’ve had in terms of freshness and fun since new vegas. yeah story lacks, but the questlines have nice variety and don’t overwhelm you with options, character/VA quality is refreshing, most qualities 4 introduced 76 improved, and obviously FUCKING MULTIPLAYER and grindable shop currency. dont deter people from getting a game theyll enjoy, if you want story is lesser gameplay new vegas wins. if you want lesser story and fun gameplay PLUS MULTIPLAYER and several new mechanics especially compared to new vegas, go 76

You can play for a month casually to eat up all single player and non-paying content (apart from paying for the actual game) in lag and bugs (still). You can, sure. The worst Fallout game with the least compelling story that doesn't even go about you but like.... nobody and everybody?
