I got a Yamaha mechanic coming to my boat tomorrow I got a Yamaha 200 it’ll run fine and then all of a sudden starts going slow. I’ve been having problems with it for weeks. He thinks it might be overheating sensor so that’s why I’m watching your video.
@@tcap7917 thank you for your comment, but it ended up being and the mechanic couldn’t figure it out. I looked through videos and someone with the same problem had a video what it is I found it when we go to start sometimes it would only be working on half the cylinders and that’s because when you’re in neutral, and put it into drive it’s supposed to click something. There a blue wire with, a thin piece of aluminum on it when you push it up, it clicks the button the button, some kind of single to use all cylinders all six whatever I think I have six blue wire has a metal thing that’s probably getting a little worn out I still didn’t replace it, but I know what to do when it’s running on half the cylinders shut it off off put clutch into neutral then Drive a couple of times and it put me back in all cylinders again thank you for your comments
Hi good morning have you ever hooked up a laptop to your 200 hpdi, for diagnostic tests? If so can you please tell me where the hookup port is located? Thanks
There is all kinds of harness connectors where the engine rigging enters the engine. Check them and there will be a 3 conductor wire with a gray plug and cap on it. There is a piece of small line on it. That is the YDS connector. There is only one connector that fits the data cable.
Hi good morning thanks for responding, I have the same Yamaha 200 hpdi where exactly is the YSD located on your engine ? Next to the VST or on the other side? I have searched and can’t seem to find it. Thanks
Actually you are correct. Those are screws. Hex head capscrews to be exact.

This is a great video that has solved my need for new thermostats on my Yamaha. What about the gaskets?
If you are replacing I recommend to replace gaskets. Take care
Great videos!
Are you supposed to use sealant with the paper thermostat housing gasket?
Hello. I do not use sealant. Works fine. Thank you

@@edwardburrowes4243 hello. It should be by the starboard side where all the rigging goes into the engine. It is a plug.
Would this cause an overheat issue if they werent opening? Id imagine so.
For sure.
