    Good tips and video! I have a few to share:
    1. Don’t drive to far to buy something, you need to be able to comfortably walk away from a purchase. Hard to do if you have 3 hours with an empty trailer to look forward to.
    2. Before buying something, think about you selling it. Do you believe it is easy or hard to sell? Perhaps a low bid is in place?
    3. Let your frend/companion be the devils advocate, let them decide because they aren’t all excited to just buy something and can make a cool decision.
    Anyway thanks again!
    Nils from Sweden where the ATCs are few and expensive😢

    If that’s the 1983 110 that’s the one I first learned to ride when I was 7 years old. Can’t believe you found one not destroyed. That might be a 125 can’t tell by looking. The back tires aren’t stock . Your saying it as I’m writing it that’s funny. Me and my siblings destroyed ours. The original tires are the waffle pattern. The 85 had different tires well the tread pattern. I never thought I’d see one of those on RUclips . That brings back so many memories I wish I could be near it running you never forget the sound and smell of those trikes. Starting that thing cold at 7 was very very hard. Once they were warm I could start it while sitting on it. Very cool. Great video blast from the past for us 80,s kid’s…

    Your doubty 185 has a bad headgasket, should point out things like that too. Sure maybe it doesn't affect compression yet but on many machines if you see the headgasket area stained black with oil and once they get warm/hot they weep oil, consume oil, and/or sip a little air into the cylinder.
    Otherwise great video, will be sending this to customers who ask about how to buy bikes & quads, the last 5 minutes are probably the most important tips.

      @@skylerbates7621 Based on your description, yes it it worth 1100. a rear bearing is about $45, and an hours work as long as nothing goes wrong (see my video honda torched) good fenders/seat and tank are worth $700 so there is the bulk of your value, Id offer $800, if he says no aske to meet in the middle at $950. its worth a try.

Feel free to PM me some pics on Facebook mrc_builds, as for "good" parts, It really depends how much effort you want to put into it stripping it down. the pull cord assembly is the most valuable, seat pan and fenders, if there in good shape, the front end if suspended ( yours should be ridged) tank if its salvageable, engine and both axles. watch my other video about parts bikes, you will get a laugh, and see where and what has value. ruclips.net/video/mRd4apJ427o/видео.html. thanks again.

But goto www.partszilla.com look up the axle for both models and see if it's the same part number, also check to see if the bearing part number is the same. If they are, you can swap them. I am pretty sure if you swap the whole axle and sprocket it will work. As for hubs, just reuse the 200e hubs and wheels on the 200s axle, the hubs will swap over. Good size, nimble and plenty of power to enjoy trail riding.

    Why are these old trikes so hot all a sudden 😳, seems like it happened overnight.....

    • @mrcbuilds
      @mrcbuilds  Год назад +1

      Your late to the party, they have been hot for the 10 years, i think they have peaked and and leveling out. With the cost of sxs above 20k and atvs around 10k and nice dependable 3 wheeler for 2k is a bargain.

    Love these old trikes! Question on the 83 big red. Is there a neutral light on that machine?

      Yes these had a grean neutral light. Download the correct Manual for your bike, it will show you layout and even some part numbers

      @@johnmokma8897 I own 2 83' big reds and there is no neutral light. I believe the first year for the N light was 85' on the 250es big red

      Update: The 84 200 ES with reverse was the first year for the neutral light.

    • @aaronburke7676

      I'm pretty sure there's no light but there should be a glass circle on the left side of the engine. When you see N through the glass it's in neutral. Also e-start won't work if your not in neutral.

    Can you tell me what size rear tires are on the 185 s?

    • @mrcbuilds
      @mrcbuilds  2 года назад +2

      factory would be the 22x8, in this video I had some 300ex wheels and tires and 18x8, I would tell you, that that small you loose a lot of top end. I would suggest 20in tires, unless you never see top speed than the 18s are a blast!

      Try making a post in honda headers on Fb or in a dedicated forum for 185s. Either of those should be able to help.

      They are not Illegal, they may not be allowed on the streets or in certain parks, but they are not illegal to own, use, buy or sell. I believe you are mistaken.
