My youngest son was diagnosed with T1D in 2009 at age 4. He’s played almost every sport and is a karate black belt. He’s happy and healthy and diabetes is nothing but a thing around here. There’s a blessing in being diagnosed so young. It becomes so easy and natural. Your beginnings sound like a ditto of ours. You are an excellent mama to your kids as well as your chickens! They are all lucky to have you! And even during this you are sharing your experience to help others. What a scary and life-changing experience for you all, especially your dear son.
It’s been terrifying and stressful. Like being handed a newborn out of the blue. Constant worry and research and asking questions, worrying some more. We hate that this is his life now but by God we are going to do everything we can for him to have a happy, healthy, delicious, full life!
We are trying so hard. It’s still so much work, it’s so stressful and scary sometimes, and it’s for life unfortunately, but he’s safe and we have great doctors. ❤️
The serenity prayer is always helpful. God grant me serenity to except things l cannot change, courage to change the things l can and wisdom to know the difference. Amen🙏
