Fasting does a lot more than that because it accelerates the immune system and phagocytosis and also makes you more resistant to the damage from chemotherapy! Some benefits of doing occasional extended fasting: High blood pressure is lowered to normal levels very quickly while fasting.
      Fibrosis/scarring is reversed over time.
      Fasting increases nitric oxide release.
Fasting restores NAD+ to healthy levels.
Stomach acid is reduced over time while fasting and can allow for the healing of treatment resistant ulcers, but some patients may need continued acid reducation medication while fasting.
Telomeres are lengthened and fasting also increases anti-aging Yamanaka factors.
Blood clotting is reduced and blood clots and arterial plaque are reabsorbed into the body.
Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion of bacteria, plaques and viruses by the immune system. It will also remove any 'foreign material' that is not supposed to be there.
Reflexes and short term memory are increased.
Fasts from 36-96 h increase metabolic rate due to norepinephrine release!
After 72 hours or more fasted, your body recycles up to 1/3 of all immune bodies, rejuvenating your entire immune system.
Fasting can help with MS, Depression, BPD, Autism and seizures.
Fasting reduces pain and anxiety by stimulating the endocannabinoid system in a similar way to CBD oil.
Thymus is regenerated, which suppresses aging and renews the immune system. The thymus also plays a vital role in fighting cancer.
Weight loss from daily caloric restriction has 1/4 to 1/3 of the weight lost as lean tissue while many studies show fat loss from 36 h fasts without losing any lean tissue! The hunger hormone ghrelin also lowers with extended fasting and rises from dieting.
Blood sugar and insulin are lowered, allowing white blood cells to move more freely throughout the body and do their job. Some viruses activate glycolosis (the release of sugar in the body) and clinically it has been shown that decreasing glucose metabolism in the body weakens the influenza virus.
When you move out of MTOR your body shuts down the building blocks of the cell which are used to produce organelles and proteins. This means the mechanisms needed by viruses to replicate are by and large unavailable when you are in a deeply fasted state.
What breaks a fast? Anything with protein or carbohydrates in it will break a fast. Most teas and herbs are OK. Most supplements and meds will either break ketosis directly or contain a filler that will. Many meds are dangerous to take while fasting.
Does fasting lower testosterone? No, it raises it when the fast is broken by increasing lutenizing hormone. Fasting also increases insulin sensitivity, which helps with muscle building.
Fasts of 36-96 will not affect short term female fertility or affect menstrual cycle. They also may increase long term fertility, especially in women with PCOS.
The hormone Leptin is an immunomodulator that keeps the body from attacking itself and obesity causes leptin resistance. Fasting very quickly reduces leptin resistance and leptin levels and one day of fasting can cut your leptin levels in half and gets your immune system working properly again!
Does the body preferentially prefer glucose as a fuel? No, except for brief periods of very intense exercise, your body mainly burns fats in the form of free fatty acids. Your brain also prefers to burn ketones at a rate of around 2.5 to 1 when they are available in equal quantity to glucose.
Fasting stimulates the AMPK complex and activates autophagy. Autophagy (literally self eating) will cause cells to recycle foreign matter such as viruses and kill cancerous and senescent cells
Lowering insulin via fasting virtually eliminates chronic inflammation in the body.
It increases mitochondrial function and repairs mitichondrial DNA, leading to improved ATP production and oxygen efficiency and thereby making cells better able to fight off infection. Increased mitochondrial function also has the added benefit of increasing your metabolism and cancer prevention!
Fasting also releases BDNF and NGF in the blood which stimulates new nerve and brain cell growth. This can help a great deal with diseases like MS, peripheral neuropathy and Alzheimers.
In fact, the biochemical regulator of BDNF production is beta-hydroxybutyrate, which is the same ketone the body produces to nourish the brain while fasting.
Fasting also increases telomere length, negating some of the effects of aging at a cellular level.
When you fast, this stimulates apoptosis in senescent or genetically damaged cells, destroying them. Senescent cells are responsible for many of the effects of aging and are a root cause of the development of cancer.
A fasting mimicking diet for 3-5 days in a row also provides many of the same benefits as water fasting. FMD usually has 200-800 calories, under 18 g of protein and extremely low carbs.
Exogenous ketones can aid with fasting, making it easier in healthy people and allowing some people with specific issues to fast in spite of them without worrying as much about hypoglycemia.
Children, pregnant or nursing women should not fast for periods longer than 16 hours. People with pancreatic tumors or certain forms of hypoglycemia generally cannot fast at all. Type 1 diabetics can also fast but it is more complicated and should be approached with caution as it could lead to ketoacidosis. If you experience extreme symptoms of some kind, especially dizziness or tremors, then simply break the fast and seek advice.

i explain it as any food eaten is like someone stoppjng by your house and illness/disease is like laundry.. you have some on floor in piles, sum washer, dryer, folded piles.. so you eat/someone ring doorbell .. laundry everywhere so put back in baskets you try and keep it separate but not always able, you want to move the wet to dry but you don’t have time to fold and put away dry so leave it out and leave wet in washer .. try n put away other … you get it. .. you have to wait for your company to leave and when they do maybe you have to wash the load again, pull the stuff back out .. finally got back to where you were and ding dong. no way i don’t have time to do anything but shove in closet and it keeps building up.
Your body can’t clean up until the guest has left and when they swing back bring a snack. your body stops everything no matter how small..
it wants to clean up but no time

I had a rare form of melanoma which sat near my elbow for several years. Id made enquiries about it but im assuming that because it looked like a blob of firm clear jelly, my skin Dr didnt recognise it. It was only after i felt another cancer on my shoulder, which i recognised it as a BCC as it was tickling me with a kind of bubbling tickily feelng coming from the spot & that encouraged me to speak to another Dr. At that time i asked to have the other unusual blister on my elbow biopsied aswell. Two days later i ended up having an emergency removal of the most dangerous cancer. I was told to have my lymph nodes biopsied among other things. A 3rd Dr explained the brisk level of the rare melanoma was a level 5. I was given a dismal diagnosis. I resigned to the fact that i didnt have long to live & began to organise my affairs. I declined the biopsy on my lymph nodes. I took up drinking an aboriginal sour leaf tea & continued doing what id been doing prior to the diagnosis. All i ate around that time was raw organic vegetables & fruit blended into a thick puree & cooked salmon & water. In hindsight i cant help but wonder if my diet was what kept the cancer at bay? As it had been sitting on my elbow for atleast 3yrs. Oddly enough, i didnt know it at the time but after watching these online videos about sugar & autophogy, i cant help but think this is what saved me. This all took place in 2017.

I believe cancer is the bodys last desperate effort of dealing with high blood sugars due to insulin resistance. The insulin resitance round a organ may be so bad that the organ can no longer protect itself from high blood sugars/inflamation. So the body generates cancer cells round the organ to soak up all the glucose as a protective survival measure, other wise inflamation /high blood sugars would destroy the organ. Unfortunaltely the tumour expands uncontrolably. And either destroys the organ or us. But this gives the body extra time to survive. Reverse the insulin resitance so then the cells can start retaking in glucose and get back to normal. Basically the cancer is protecting us against the high blood sugar by soaking it all up. As due to insulin resutance the body can no longer deal with the high ammount of sugars.

PET scans utilize a radioactive glucose tracer to diagnose malignancies. The glucose accumulates at malignant sites do to cancer’s high rate of glucose metabolism. This is what enables these areas to show up on the scan. I’ve tried to explain this to people I have known diagnosed with cancer, but their doctors told them they didn’t need to change their diet in any way and to eat whatever they wanted in attempt to maintain their weight during treatment. Of course, they followed the doctors advise even tho it made no sense. Nutrition was never a factor in the treatment plan.

Then I underwent radiation after 5 sessions the scan showed radiation did not shrink the tumour it grew bigger and scan showed small spots in my lung and liver. The oncologist said my last option is to participate in trial meds. I did but after 10 days I stopped taking the meds because I lost my appetite that for 3 days I was not hungry and my weight loss was abrupt and I felt very weak and tired. The trial meds is worst than chemo and radiation combined. I did not hear anything from my oncologist since 29 May 2024 I am on my own and my latest blood test showed the inflammation is very high and I am slightly anemic because when the pain attacks I could not sleep. It is very hard to have cancer if you are an ordinary citizen cannot afford a private doctor who will help you ease the pain.

The fact that cancer cells crave sugar, is key to how they can be destroyed by Vitamin C, since receptors for Vit C are similar to receptors for sugar. Vitamin C gets depleted by neutralising various toxins; including for example cigarette smoking and metal toxicity.
In a nutshell: Diseased states (including cancer) are caused by deficiency and/or toxicity; in unison with excess, patogens and various (chemical, physical & psychological) stressors, resulting in an imbalance of the body's autonomous nervous system's functioning; so that in general metabolism is impaired (including digestion, detoxing, healing and repair).
Important also the matter of destruction of the microbiome, which leads to disconnection of communication between cells, and lack of integrity of organs. Isolated from the host organism, cells may start duplicating; this towards ensuring their own survival, while not aware of how their destruction is vital to ensure survival of their host.

Cancer is very complicated. Since we're made from trillions of cells and there is no thing called perfection in nature. We could just get cancer from bad luck, honestly. Now add thousands of other factors, alot of them are not even in our control. Sooner or later we're all getting it. luckily, if you're age 80+ cell division rates have slowed down so much that the cancer will not take you out. But simple organ failure or a other disease will. That being said... keeping your immune system healthy and young is your best bet. Keep inflammation rates as low as humanly possible. Fasting does all of that.

    • @ChipsAplentyBand
      @ChipsAplentyBand Год назад +3

My reply here is not intended to be unkindly. I also-respectfully-disagree that 'bad luck' is a causative agency for cancer the way, say, getting hit in a random traffic accident is a causative agent for physical injury. Our bodies are not only models of incredibly sophisticated physiological and biochemical design and integration, but they are intelligently self-monitoring and self-adjusting within the limitations of their design. They normally attempt to heal themselves EVERY TIME if all the necessary conditions and resources for such healing are present.
Everyone agrees that cancer is 'something gone wrong' and of course if left unchecked it sooner or later destroys the body of which it's a part. It constitutes a CASCADING FAILURE event. Either cancer is PROVOKED by some agency in a way that the self-adjusting routines of the body do not recognize or cannot cope with, or those self-adjusting routines themselves have been compromised in some way so that they fsil to deal with it. There are nutritional or environmental factors necessarily involved in this or else the body's self-adjusting routines WOULD succeed in preventing cancer every time. God only knows exactly what carcinogenic substances and conditions we may be exposed to on a given day, and the time-lag between exposure and manifest cancer can easily obscure the connection-making it SEEM like 'bad luck.' However, physics and chemistry operate on a more reliable and predictable basis than random chance. The real problem is the sheer complexity of daily human interaction with our environment.
Where healthcare tends to fail the patient is in the compartmentalization of doctors as specialists who are taught that the body's various systems are NOT an integrated whole-they are, and to a much greater extent than many people realize-and in the general lack of acknowledgement of the sheer marvel of complexity the human machine presents. A 'drug for a symptom' is often a GROSS OVERSIMPLIFICATION and any treatment modality that doesn't recognize/respect and WORK WITH AND ASSIST the body's own integrated functionality is merely throwing (expensive) monkey wrenches into machinery to ameliorate just one piece of a much larger puzzle, and it is INTERFERING with at least some aspects of that machinery's INHERENT AND DESIGNED FUNCTIONALITY to do it. It is DOING COLLATERAL HARM, and it is LIGHT YEARS BETTER to respect the body for what it is and ASSIST it rather than attempt to COMMANDEER it. It is an INTELLIGENT machine in the process of maintaining itself as optimally as possible until it eventually fails. Let's not make it fail sooner through uninformed or unperceptive tampering with its normal and routine functioning. This requires knowledge-often more than we have yet-humility, and top prioritization of the patient's HEALING.
Healthcare practitioners whose primary focus is on anything BUT the patient's welfare and healing are varying degrees of misdirected, selfish, fraudulent, and dangerous. Their business must somehow be to serve the PATIENT'S needs ultimately, and not just the practitioner's needs and bottom line. Practices MUST be set up and run to allow for this or they will FAIL the patient. Vulnerable patients who are NOT well-served by practioners are VICTIMS. We all take our own turn going through death, for which sickness serves as a foretaste and reminder to everyone. We need to treat each other as we would like to be treated ourselves, and the operative words here are COMPASSION and SELFLESSNESS.

Initial damage to the mitochondria could quite possibly come down to bad luck. We are exposed to multiple carcinogens these days. Sorry why did my sister in law still die from pancreatic cancer when they found it early. She eat nothing but sips of water and still grew and spread round her body. She described it as a tree trunk growing in her torso.

    • @ChipsAplentyBand

I lack the physiology and biochemistry knowledge to answer your question specifically, though it seems logical to think that a sick body deprived of all fuel can only consume its own tissues and resources, since they are all that's available. The tree trunk analogy seems rather apt; the cancer is a more rapidly growing tissue in the guise of an interloper, and its growth pattern within the body probably feels inside like the structure of a tree looks-i.e., with roots, a main trunk, and branching limbs. Not a happy picture, but apropos.
I'm so sorry for your loss of a sister-in-law; I lost a cousin named Kristin to pancreatic cancer in 2009. At the end her body was gaunt and skeletal, but I was able to be there with her and for her, if only briefly, and with and for her husband and daughter/son-in-law for a while afterward.

I mean Brian cancers still stay active when the heart stops.
I mean it would be great to go back to living in biblical time so we can live healthy for 100 plus years.
The only reason we are not preventing is gluttony!
So, keep to your research, and don't forget to cross reference as far back as you can.

How could a doctor not know a fat person has huge medical issues

    • @LTPottenger
      @LTPottenger Год назад +4

Fasting can help a lot with both issues by stimulating phagocytosis, which is how the body clears these things out! Some benefits of doing occasional extended fasting: High blood pressure is lowered to normal levels very quickly while fasting.
      Fibrosis/scarring is reversed over time.
      Fasting increases nitric oxide release.
Fasting restores NAD+ to healthy levels.
Vitamin D plasma levels are increased as fasting improves metabolic health, and vitamin D in turn increases autophagy.

It amazes me how fairly intelligent people talk about evolution as a fact, then base their thoughts off of it. If it is the environment that is causing something it cannot be evolution even if evolution was true. OK micro-evolution happens - small changes within a species, macro-evolution does not and could never happen. When people say evolution they normally mean macro-evolution. Anyway maybe we were designed this way and sugar is a poison that should be banned from our foods.

Agreed, evolution as defined by survival of the fittest-type evolution isn't efficient enough to yield the complexity in the biological world that we see around us. There is a whole additional layer of programming in living organisms that directs changes to the organism in response to environmental pressures. Lots of interesting research is going on in the field. It may turn out to be quantum biology, but no one knows yet.

Though before I was taking the trial meds I was fasting hoping to lose weight slowly but taking the trial meds I lost weight abruptly and my whole body was very weak. I wanted to eat anything to regain my strength but very hard to attain. Then a friend taught me to eat apple celery and pear to cleanse my body plus she gave enzyme tablets I felt a little improvement in my body. Now am still eating apple celery and pear in the morning then after 12noon I can eat my regular food plus some supplements. I regain my appetite and strength slowly doing that diet. My only problem now is that the pain is very intense and I don’t want to be dependent on pain meds am taking 5mg twice a day still pain is terrible. I stop eating rice but I am back to eating rice because I need to be strong but I am planning to stop because rice has high carbo and sugar as well. Really very hard to find food that has no carbs and sugar. I was diagnosed of pancreatic cancer March 2023 but at that time the scan and ultrasound showed it did not spread but after chemotherapy and radiation it grew bigger so I do not want another chemo I just want to manage the pain and maintain a diet that has less carbs and sugar so as not to allow the cancer cells to be happy while I am suffering.

Haven't watched this whole video yet- But if obesity alone caused cancer, sumo wrestlers would have a higher incidence of cancer, but they don't. The likely reason why, is that they flush their livers out with High Intensity Interval Training. (HIIT)
To make the body as inhospitable as possible to cancer, best things you can do is to maintain an overall lifestyle of diet and exercise. A Keto diet of low-carbs and low-sugar, stay away from known carcinogens, exercise every day for an hour, even walking, consider HIIT, eat once a day (or twice) within a 6 hour window, then water-fast for 18 hours. Eat healthy fats like salmon and avocados, cruciferous veggies like cabbage and broccoli- Glucose and glutamine are the 2 fuels of fermentation that cancer cells use to produce ATP. Reduction of glucose thru diet and reduction of glutamine starves cancer cells.
Read up on Dr Thomas Seyfried.

Forget that sugar/substitutes exist... Only some berries now and then... Nothing carb ... If you have strong motivation it is not hard...Only unprocessed food. Water fast sometimes. Unfortunately not always the family is a positive support... Do what 's the best for your health !

Lots of good info. But the belief in Dawinian evolution may miss direct us. DNA appears to be a carefully designed program. Mutations are errors that cause that program to mal function. So, wouldn't devolution be a better description of what is happening?

I agree. Healthcare science needs to fundamentally reexamine the evidence for life on Earth having been designed. Shared human-animal biological similarites need not be the result of universal common descent but may instead be the result of similarity of design. This is important because it's often easier to hypothesize about the workings of biochemistry if you better understand the nature of organism you're dealing with. I do wish people would drop their usual political commitments in this area and focus purely on the science. Darwinian abiogenesis differs from, say, physics in that as a comprehensive historical-investigative theory Darwinism lies farther from its data than physics or chemistry does; Darwinism is more like forensics or archaeology. For anyone interested, a key concept in all if this is 'irreduceable complexity' and it has been discussed at fair length in publications by William A. Dembski and others.

I really want to know why you quickly switched to another session near the end. You were talking about cancer, and then Dr. Fung is in another room and you're both talking about diets and weight. What the hell? I saw this already, as well. You spliced in another, different session. Is this because you guys began to talk about using diet and fasting as treatment for cancer and then the FDA and NCI and ACA threatened to kill your children? This session was ruined for me by your obvious cuts.
