"Greg Lemond wasn't the first American to win TdF, I was." How epic and yet it remains that people think Greg was the first. These women are so god damn epic and absolutely humble

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful: One of the best cycling films ever made. Intimate, absorbing and compelling, and should be mandatory viewing; and not only for the regular fans of this magnificent sport - for everyone. The exemplary production values of this film - a true and fitting homage to the dedication and professionalism of these extraordinary athletes.

These ladies put to shame all those over paid, pompous, oscar winning, footballers who fall down without being hit and act like they had their legs chopped off. These ladies hit the deck at 40 mph or more and just like any cyclist, get back on their bikes. They dont roll around on the floor looking for sympathy and a penalty like footballers. Much respect for the ladies who also love my sport.
Lovely editing with the music in the background to give it some emotion and tension. I really hope there is a full length docu for this that does not focus on one team but the whole event.

What a wonderful and deserving step for women's cycling. As a huge fan of women's cyclocross, especially the super strong Dutch girls, I love to watch their strength, skill and success. I just wish the owner of Specialized had controlled his legal team and not made problems for Cafe Roubaix Bicycle Studio In Canada regarding the alleged ownership of the Roubaix name. I got rid of every piece of Specialized equipment I owned when that happened in support for Dan. I was a customer of his. It was one of the best bike shops. Sadly, it's closed now.

/moaning at all from these brave ladies they just get on with the racing. and i truly hope the governing body of world cycling reconises just how much commitment and guts these girls have. thank you ladies of racing i look forward to every race you take part in.

I hope this succeeds. I have 2 teenage daughters I’ve tried to get into cycling, but zero interest. Women’s cycling really needs a Serena Williams/ Lance Armstrong/Micheal Jordan/ Tiger Woods type character to get them in our young girls face regularly. I feel that’s what it’s really missing is a massive Nike type marketing push with a GOAT and a face of the sport. Right now it’s a sport without a face. Lance pretty much single handed made cycling popular in the US to the general public. That’s what Women’s cycling needs. Until it can be made mainstream popular I think it always be in the background. I bet 99% of women’s cycling Viewership is men. Need a find a way to get the normal every day lady into it. Look at Woman’s gymnastics. They have several faces and it’s blown up.

    • @quantumdecoherence1289

All good points, but perhaps we can hope for someone a bit more ethical with integrity than LA as a role model for women's cycling. As a father of a teenager, he also has no interest in cycling.

"The story was that one rider exploded the peloton on the first sector of cobbles and is now 1 minute 58 seconds ahead..." Well, one rider did not explode the peloton, that's a lie, but she made a bit of tempo, got a surprise gap and the peloton thought it was too early to follow. After her first surprise had sunken in, this rider heard she had a minute and her team manager said, well, keep going. The first meaningful reaction in the closed peloton came at less than thirty kilometers to go, with an advantage of 2 minutes and 40 seconds for the leader in the race. This was far too late to have an impact on the eventual winner. Boring. A travesty.
