- Get ready for a thrilling journey as we take you behind the scenes of the long-awaited return of the women's Tour de France in 2022. Witness the advances and setbacks that led to a historic moment in women's cycling.
The film takes you on a wild ride of bravery, connection, and adrenaline-fuelled exhilaration. You’re steered by Emily Chappell, who stirs compassion as she skilfully narrates. Former competitors such as Denise Kelly and Marilyn Trout (former pro cyclists for Team Canada), Maria Canins (two-time winner of the Tour de France Femmes for Team Italy), plus CANYON//SRAM Racing’s Elise Chabbey, Kasia Nieuwiadoma, Pauliena Rooijakkers, and Ronny Lauke all weave a thought-provoking storyline together.
As the title suggests, Out in Front is about riders who have the strength and courage to break away from convention. This is encapsulated in CANYON//SRAM Racing’s success in the 2022 Tour de France Femme (where they topped the Teams Classification, and placed Kasia Nieuwiadoma 3rd on the overall podium in the process) and through the recollections of Kelly, Trout and Canins as they look back on their experiences of women’s cycling in the 1980s.
It becomes clear that ‘where women belong’ in cycling has changed for good. The 2022 Tour de France Femmes was the first official race after a hiatus of more than 30 years, marking a seminal moment for gender equality in cycling.
In the creation of this film, as well as in sponsoring female teams, ambassadors, and a host of initiatives to inspire women to jump on the saddle, we are explicitly committing to long-term investment in women’s cycling. This way, the ongoing efforts of female athletes both on and off the bike, are acknowledged, promoted, and celebrated, showing the younger generation of women that there’s a place for them in cycling.

HUGE SHOUT OUT to all people involved in this documentary. From the person who had the idea, the one who made the script, the managers that bravely believed that this movie was worth making and spending money on. I work with adversiting and I know HOW DIFFICULT it is to move forward with a project that seems small but involves many people at the same time, and also anything that envolves women is often sneered at as something that won't have an audience. BRAVO for making women cyclists in Brazil, Spain and across Europe cry, get emotional and RECOGNIZE in these incredible women that are Womens Pro Peloton and, more specifically, Women's World Tour team CANYON//SRAM. You are a huge inspiration to me and next week I will be at Tourmalet waiting and cheering you on.
Thank you Canyon for this video....I hope there will be another "Behind the scenes" after the Tour de France Femme avec Zwift 2023
Last year’s TDFF was excellent and brutal. Looking forward to this year’s race.

Awesome documentary!
So excellent. I've been far more interested in women's MTB for years and I'm pretty much there on the road as well. I love all of this. Well done.
Great work! Woman’s cycling maters
Can't wait!
Alright! I'm really looking forward to watching the women this year!
I'm looking forward to the women's Tour de France this year :))
I was a pro men's rider, never good enough for the TDF. After 20 years of marriage, my wife has now become addicted to cycling. She can't get enough of it, and rides more miles per week than I do. After 1 month of riding, she did her first 75 mile ride, by herself.
The TDF has always been my Superbowl/World Cup, and for the first time she's just as interested in it.
The TDF Femme is hugely anticipated in our house now. It's great to see it back, and hopefully it gets extended. Give the women the chance to show what they're made of, give them the full 21.
As a former pro men’s rider, you should be fully aware that a 21 stage GT simple isn’t feasible for the women right now. Budgets aren’t there. Teams aren’t large enough. Etc. etc. etc.
@cincydooley I was a pro rider at the same time as Miguel Indurain, I don't have a clue about the current teams budget. Sponsorships back then meant we got discounts on equipment, but still had to buy a lot of it with our own money, but were paid peanuts.
@@SniperSpec0ps Lol. “I don’t have a clue about anything” but the women should ride 21 stages.
😂😂😂
@cincydooley When did I say no clue about anything?
You don't need extreme budgets, my previous statement proves that, you're simply used to high budgets.
You don't need large teams, for decades it wasn't ran like that, and frankly we saw more of the athleticism of each rider, rather than their pocketbooks.
Several of the women have requested to be allowed to run the 21 stages, so the want and drive are there.
You seem to be the clueless one, the myopic one, the one that believes because it's this way, there is NO other way. Foolish
@@SniperSpec0ps Lolololololololololololololo. Sure.
favourite day on the bike last year was the penultimate stage of the TdFF. Cheered at the Col du Platzerwasel, what an atmosphere it was :-)
This is top content!
Great video!
So exciting!
These women are my heroes!
Marion Rousse deserves a mention!
What a great video, so toughing, so beautiful. I always think the independence and liberation of women no matter in what circumstance is not only for women themself but for all the human beings, keep moving! Allez
I hesitated to see this video, and when I finally did, it was way beyond my expectations. What a wonderful documentary. Many millions of people should see it. I'm so glad that now women are able to race the TDF again. Thanks 🥰
GOOD JOB

The Women's Tour of France, is the pinnacle of cycling on Earth, more than Track, MTB, and other disciplines. They should receive the Ultimate Respect, and comfortable financial lifestyle. They are an expression of GOD'S EXISTENCE. ✝️🙏
SEATED.
So sad Alena is not in the team anymore
Annemiek vs SD Worx, the stronger team in the history of women and men's cycling, also vs the remaining peloton.
I wish my wife would ride her bike more, that way we can suffer together.
Fantastic! 🥹 So happy to see the change as it happens ❤️
