    Your fishing videos are the reason I have watched any other RUclips videos ever. You were my “gateway drug” and still the best in my opinion. I have had lunch with you and the Garberg maybe a dozen times, not to mention Bravo 1 and several others. I can almost taste your rice and the very firm sashimi you prepared by the side of the river. You are a natural fly fisherman and I would truly appreciate another video on a small stream, where you effortlessly catch char trout after char trout, as well as the occasional Japanese native true trout. Thank you for what you do.

    Hello Virtuo. I just received a gunny hunter 3v. My surprise has been that when measuring the thickness of the sheet with the caliper tool it has given me a total of 3.2 millimeters, I have also checked it with a meter in case the tool was damaged, but it gives me the same result. What surprises me is that there is no gunny hunter lt 3v, only in elmax steel ... I would like to know your humble opinion on this. Thank you

    I melted that black ring off with a soldering iron using tape to protect the surrounding metal area. They won't work in other flashlights and they won't charge in my 3 chargers without that black ring being removed.

    @virtuovice if you take a normal battery, and cut away the insulation around the positive terminal, that will usually have metal under there which is the negative terminal. the same as this "special" Olight battery. So try that. Just cut off with a knife. Maybe you can tell us which knife is best for battery insulation cutting. Just BE CAREFUL: Do not let the knife metal short positive and negative terminals. Otherwise, the battery will be on fire!

    That is good information. I have not seen that type of battery before. I have been using 18650, 26650, etc. batts for about 10 years, including re-wrapping. I will not purchase any product with this configuration. A proprietary battery is silly, IMO. Thank you.

      Standard 18650 will cover up to 1500 lumens. For 2000 lumens high discharge 18650 will be needed.

      The M2R PRO shown in this video does not use 18650 cells, it uses the proprietary Olight 21700 cell. And a standard 21700 cell does not power on the torch (as shown in the video).
      You must be reading the description for a different Olight model. A few of their torches can be operated by a standard (non-custom) cell.

    Did you try contacting Olight? They have been very helpful when it comes to battery issues in my O lights. There are some batteries that won't work in their lights for sure. There are also hacks to get other batteries working. That being said I'm glad their batteries aren't to expensive and since I only own the usb charging versions of their lights I haven't seen the need for allot of spare batteries. Although I am moving from Olight to Armytech because they have warm light led models and after your vids on warm lights I tried the type out and I prefer them to blue lights. Much more pleasant to use.

    It’s unique design. but scare short circuit

    • @MutsPub
      @MutsPub 4 года назад

      Agreed. People need to be aware that Li-Ion batteries that short, will gas hydrogen and possibly explode. They come off the charger @~4.2v. and can produce 60+ amps. These are not Alkaline @1.5v batteries. With the positive and negative terminal that close, extreme care needs to be taken.

      MutsPub they charge in the torch with the tail cap charger

    • @MutsPub
      @MutsPub 4 года назад

      @@jasonburns956 I may not be communicating clearly, IF this battery is used in other devices, it could present a major problem. They may not notice, or be aware of, the pos/neg terminals so close "on the same end" of the battery. Similar problem with 9v batteries, accept on steroids and not as obvious.

  • @aobachan476
    @aobachan476 4 года назад +2

    The design is not unique or proprietary, all lithium batteries have a negative terminal near the positive terminal and manufacturers prefer not to sell single lithium batteries because they dont come with a circuit to prevent the battery from shorting and exploding. The red battery seems to have a coating on the negative terminal shell surrounding the positive terminal so no circuit is created.

    this is why I will not buy any more Olight or Thrunite flashlights, they're current and future designs use circuitry ramped up to the max which require tweaked Special Edition batteries (cells) have you tried to buy a genuine Thrunite battery as a spare, don't bother. All these hyped up models drop down after very short run times too. Lately I have been buying Convoy and Sofirn flashlight good value for money unfortunately not widely sold outside of China check them out you may be pleasantly surpprised
