Those 6 point s-k’s are hex sockets. They’re just missing the hex portion of the socket. Cen-tech is an import tool company that been around a long time. Some are made in Japan. Some Korea. I’ve found the quality is pretty decent. One of the few I usually keep that aren’t USA

I lost a couple good finds trying to save a couple bucks. If it's a good buy I just pay up before it walks away. I picked up a very beat up 3 drawer Snap-On top chest from the 70's completely full of vintage mechanic tools, wrenches, sockets, Snap-On, Craftsman, SK, etc for $40. Altogether It weighed well over 100 lbs. I had no idea what I had until I got home. The box was missing the emblem but luckily it was in the box. Almost no rust either since everything was so covered in old grease. I guess I was first in line since a lot of people were asking about it.

Wow! that sounds like a fantastic deal! You do need to move quickly. Did you restore the box or just put it to work? A few months ago I bought this junky consumer grade Stanley box and was shocked to find it loaded with Snap On sockets. ruclips.net/video/CesF5JWjQvw/видео.html

@@floridarusticrepairs It wouldn't make sense to restore this box with the damage it has yet it will function for years to come. I think it looks good as it is with the wear and patina it has. I have cleaned it out, organized the tools, affixed the emblem, found a handle that is pretty close to the original, and had a key made for the lock. I also bought some other nice boxes this summer including an early 70's Snap-On 9 drawer in great condition for $75, a 70's Craftsman rolling toolbox with a top chest for $25, and and a modern Husky box that smelled of cigarette smoke for $20 that happened to filled with $200+ of tools.

Good point and in hindsight that would have been a decent thing to do. In my defense though, the entire experience was a bit unsettling. There was no street address on the property so I was sitting in my Suburban guessing that I was at the right place for ten minutes before she appeared, gestured to the barn and then disappeared again for ten more minutes while I stood outside. When she showed up again, she said very little and I paid her before really looking at the box and before I had begun unloading the tools. It was not a welcoming environment. After she was done trying to break the lock on the barn door I never saw her again. She disappeared to somewhere in one of the buildings on the property or maybe she left. It was getting dark when I put finally got the empty boxes into the truck so I just went home. I did send her a thank you message along with a photo of the restoration which she never responded to. Like I said, if I knew what I was in for I never would have gone.
