    There is something about the old metal boxes that held the sockets, ratchet and extensions that I love. Grab them whenever I can. Have been lucky enough to find some old SK and Proto boxes. Back when you really couldn’t buy a bad tool.

      Thanks! This set has become one of my favorites. I've never come across a Proto box but would like to find one someday. You're right, back when these were made even the budget boxes were good.

    Just discovered your channel. I enjoy the straight to the point, no tee-heeing around, no annoying RUclips music, no silly cutaway clips.Just great content we can enjoy. Subbed and Thumbs up! The Herbrand tools you are finding here and there were manufactured in my town (Fremont,Ohio). In fact I live less than a half mile from where the plant once stood on the Sandusky river. Around here they are very collectable.My father collected them for years and had one of the largest collections around. I have quit a few pieces myself. The strange little Craftsman socket type wrench with the rubber coated handle is a battery terminal wrench. I look foreword to watching your videos and getting caught up on prior ones.

      Thanks for subscribing and thanks for the info!! I had never seen Herbrand until a few months ago and I think I now have one string of sockets and an odd wrench or two. Good to know where they're from and really interesting to see they made it all the way to Florida as well. If you're missing any specific piece I'll see if I can find it.

    do you own a car??? the red thing that you look thru is for checking anti freeze cant remember the name of it but you put a drop of antifreeze under the clear plastic cover point it towards the light and read the degree of protection, very accurate.

    • @floridarusticrepairs
      @floridarusticrepairs  2 месяца назад

      Thanks for the info. The antifreeze testers that i recall using were the types which you pulled some coolant into the chamber and looked for which balls were floating. They'd tell you how effective the mix was.

    You Suck exponentially - okay that said, Love those fluted handle pulls. I’ve been searching for a bottom roller to accompany my Early- Mid 60’s Bonney (Scotch Logo) top chest with those fluted pulls. I’ve seen several boxes that used that style pulls: York, Bonney, Snap On, Duplex and now Spartan … wondering which company was the original and made for the others or was bought out. If you have any info I would really appreciate it.
    Double mid boxes Damn, you deserve a parting You Suck!

      I could not go wrong with the double mid boxes! Most of these boxes were built by Metal Box and Cabinet Company or MBC for short. They made boxes for Snap On, Craftsman, Spartan, SK and others. All were either identical or very similar. I've never seen a Bonney box but I'd bet it's an MBC as well. Here's a video I did with a MBC labelled version of their boxes: ruclips.net/video/BJylMP1z3u0/видео.html
