- Starting on a little cabin in Kansas, starting on the foundation today!
We’ve got some land in Kansas we come to every year chasing whitetail, so we decided to build ourselves a cabin! This is building the foundation and pouring concrete pillars for the footers!
Preciate y’all!
Im a tradesman from the uk, i love the way the southern people live it would suit me perfect.
I wish i could come to Alabama to work with you and hannah one time jeff. God bless 🙏
Jeff is a man of many talents. Can't wait to see the cabin completed.
So much joy watching you and yours ...Appreciate
You are a lucky man. Not many daughters at that age want to hang with dad.
Good choice, we have some big deer in Kansas. Good fishing in the strip pits too. Hope you enjoy your time here.
I love you guys! You're videos are very encouraging to me! Father and Daughter doing so much together, just need so much more of that in this world! Thank you as always, for sharing
Mr. Jeff I’ve squared batter boards /strings all my life. This is the most efficient way I’ve ever seen. Thank you brother!
Old Jeff is purty sharp when it comes to building I mean he knows some stuff! When he builds anything I pay attention! 👍🇺🇸👍
I HAVE A PROFESSIONAL CARPENTRY BOOK FROM 60 YEARS AGO WITH ALL KINDA TRICKS LIKE THAT
You probably would like to see a book I have. 1920s era army Corp of engineers building codes for the construction of government project homes. Even shows specs for the driveways, not solid slabs but just two rows of concrete, maybe a foot side each. Gives the mix ratio of portland, gravel, and sand.
Wife's grand dad was a structural engineer working for the feds and was also involved in building the barracks on Paris island.
Not sure why I never thought of the way you squared everything up. Simple and brilliant.
Foundations done, I estimate Jeff will have the cabin roofed in... 3 days, plumbing, power, furniture... hunting and cooking on the 4th day, have a blessed day
Bro, You have some Serious Skills!
Great job on the foundation block, excellent idea. Glad the foundation work is all complete. Glad you both have a interest in the property together. Hunting should be great for you two. Love you guys, be safe, stay healthy, God Bless everyone.
Great vids! Keep the man projects coming!
HA-HA !! ... Hannah's little channel .....Too Funny !! ...That young lady is AWESOME. ......... KILLER Channel .....
Mom and Dad Barron have raised a wonderful daughter to be proud of ... she plays hard but she also works hard...Hannah is not afraid of being part of the workforce to get things done ....... Much Respect to you Barron family...
Looking good ole boy!! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the build. That's if you can keep that wild young un with the drill lined out there 😂😆👍👍🤘🤘🦌🦌 Kansas Deer Cabin woohoo!!
I don't know of a time that I have not seen Hanana not cold or hungry, Love watching.
Jeff is a cool dad!😄👍🏻 Awesome well rounded talent. Preciate Y'all!!😄😄😄
Looking good.. Welcome to Kansas where this time of year we have roller coaster weather.
Don't get a big head but I think you are brilliant sir!!✌️🇺🇲
I really enjoyed watching y'all work together. I am from Baton Rouge, so my accent is different from your Alabama accent. I love hearing y'all talk. Hannah is the absolute cutest.
Awesome music in the background! Congrats on buying property and new bill. Can’t wait for the competition of the build.
I'd put Reflectix to the underside of the sub-floor sheathing before securing it to the joists. The rodents won't bother it, the bugs won't bother it, and it'll reflect the outside's cold away from the inside, and reflect the inside's warmth back into the building.
Line the inside of the foundation's skirt boards with Reflectix too, same principle for keeping temperatures pretty stable.
Lookin' good Jeff! Keep that kid working so she warms up. LOL
It's most awsome to see what you 2 are going to do next appreciate your videos always look forward to seeing the next one
Great news. Hope it all goes smoothly. Take care
An excellent job Jeff. Your experience really shows. It will be interesting to see this building go up.
You got the forms lower in the middle for a 2x10 sill! 🤙🏻 down the middle
Great squared up Jeff...totally Enjoy seeing U Both, U work so well 2gether!
Can't wait to ur finish Cabin 👊👊👏👏👏🦌😊
Looking forward to it bud thanks for sharing
Hannah looks like she is having some fun, that is a pretty good amount of work in a few days!
Love your channel, Jeff. I think this is the first time I've ever seen you wearing a shirt with sleeves!😃 Thanks for the content, 'preciate y'all!!!
Looking good!! Nothing wrong with doing it that way. Keeping it simple is great. My dad taught me that many years ago!! That will work. Will be fun watching the build. Hope y’all have a blessed Christmas and happy new year.
Awesome and excited to learn how to build!! Thank you guys!!!
You guys make an awesome father-daughter team when working together on any project you do...👍👍
Congratulations on your new place. Can't wait to see the end
Y'all are up in my neck of the woods. Maybe I'll see ya around. Enjoy your time in Kansas.
Thats gonna be a solid camp Jeff n looking forward to the finish camp gonna be a good one 👍
Can’t wait to see the next video! Love from Philly!
Incredible carpenter and hard worker
Looking great so far.
Jeff I know it’s going to be off the chain. Can’t wait to see it !!!!!!
You guys make a lot of progress in one day or two , wow ...
Thanks for the info!! Your giving out a ton of knowledge.
Excited to see how it turns out!
That's too fun! I saw the title about building a cabin and that drew me in quicker than a bear to honey! I'm excited to see how it turns out ya'll for sure!!
You can take the woman out of the weather, but not the weather out of the woman! They all feel the cold!😊
Don't forget the bubble foil on top of your floor joist before you put the floor in. That will help keep the cold down and out of your building. The boss of the swamp on RUclips swears by it
Glad to see this!! We are trying to do the same at our place. Looking forward to tips and tricks.
Thanks you 2
And I see that you did that, You are very smart Jeff
Appreciate you two!!
Looking forward to it
Stoked for this project
Ya all fix'n to get a little chilly. Not in that area anymore but in south central Kansas we ain't suppose to get much warmer than a reindeers ass. Not suppose to get above 36 this week...... And yes Jeff we use block around here they just don't use it as much cause of the cold weather. Looking good so far.... Don't blame ya being from the south when the cold hit time to get.
Great ideas. Have fun. You might get you a cordless mike that just clips on and you can walk around. Water proof would be best for you. All purpose type.
Get yourself some insulated overalls and fur lined work boots and you can stand the cold, no problem.
I think Jeff would be a hit on The King and The Sting
cool ya'll , wish we could've seen more of the actual work, but i know ya'll don't have time on your side right now, can't wait for part 2.
You are the man Jeff!
Hi Jeff, been a carpenter in western Canada for 31 yrs now and I gotta tell ya, because we hit 100f in the summer here I pray for the days that are below 20f! Much easier for me to maintain a fairly constant body temperature. Another way to get your string lines square is the 3,4,5, method. Cheers from Canada!😁
That Kansas wind is brutal in winter and the land is flat as a pancake so there's nothing blocking it. At least in summer, you can cool off, there's no escaping that Kansas wind chill.
So true
@@jeffbarron70 you got to experience it to understand the relentless wind. Hey, I just made your squirrel gravy recipe this week, and my brown gravy was awesome. Your technique of keeping the flour moving really helped me, because I would only occasionally stir the flour when browning it before. Great recipe.
Jeff, you do good work. watching in ky.
A 1/16 of an Inch??? 🤠 Y’all are pretty dang close! I’m building a Deck out here at the house 🏡 in Warsaw, Missouri right now. I was pretty happy to find out I was within 1/8 😋
I can't wait to see the cabin!! Y'all got this!! :)
Lets get it on yall! Awesome 👍
I've used a saw all to vibrate my forms works pretty good
I did something real close to that...but I used chimney block for the forms. Smaller building ...maple sugar shack
Nice job 👍🏻
Great video
Great video thanks
It’s looking great ,going to be nice
IT's like the most beautiful day ever... Hannah is cold. 😂😂 I should fly you 2 ppl over here to Norway and show you cold. Looking forward to the build. 👌👍
When you're average winter temp is like 60 it is cold to them when it's in the 30 and 40s. Their bodies ain't use to temps like that.
Yeah. I know. I was jokeing. I've met ppl from other coutries. 😁👌👍 Its also the other way around, my mom cant stand the heat. That's like, if its more than 18C. I don't mind it though.
Looks great , Protect your concrete from freezing if you can (I know you don't have that to deal with at home). A stiff concrete mix will be stronger that a soupy watered down mix ( a lower water cement ratio equals maximum strength for the mix you are using ) .
Man you got it going work out all that good cooking. Looking forward to these videos. Make Hannah warming body suit👍
I met you in home depot in Pittsburg....watch you guys noodle big cats. I would love to noodle some day
Love these channels
Nice to see your foundation is tall you want be on your back doing plumbing!
So cool!
Jeff, avoid Google & RUclips censorship & check out posting your vids to Rumble as well
I've been telling everyone I can to start making the switch to rumble, going back to their earlier videos and getting them uploaded onto rumble. Seen a lady who made 64 buck's in one day on a video where her youngest daughter was singing in a contest. Much rather support a company that doesn't censore conservatives & demonetize for field dressing a deer or cleaning fish or saying gun.
@@rowdybroomstick1216 Thats what Im sayin
I can hear yall. Appreciate yall.
Looks good.
make sure hannah gets her coffee in the mornings get some empty steel barrels and burn some wood inside to keep warm while building
Thank you Jeff
Whatever you did, if you're doing anything different it's working. Could hear you both just fine even when you were facing away from the camera. Looks like you have enough weight there to keep your hunting cabin grounded.
Careful covering the pads with dirt again. You don’t want the moisture getting into the wood. It’d be better with a bit of separation
Y'all must have brought some of the weather home . It's cool outside, over here in the Victoria community....
If you want a hand from a Kansas carpenter I'd be happy to show up and help. I've sure enjoyed watching you and Hannah's adventures and feel like I know you guys already.
That’s so exciting!
Learnt something today. Great 👍
Excited to watch the cabin build.
We've noticed Hannah's drop in posting videos. Could it be new man in her life has her distracted😁😁
She has been having problems uploading videos on her phone.
Been waiting on a full cabin build!
appreciate you all!
Thanks
Jeff:
**Kansas doesn't have HURRICANES!!!**
NICE PIERS THO!!!
Umm they have tornadoes, Einstein!
@@CrazyTuco1 and the severe thunderstorms there can produce hurricane forced straightline winds of over 100 miles an hour and with the land being flat there is nothing to slow the wind.
I have hunted up there for years and compared to east Texas that place is always windy and has been bad at times
Good stuff 👍 what part of Kansas y’all huntin in . I have 2000acres in Mo and Ks great huntin . You two are kickass and great content happy holidays
Bourbon county
@@jeffbarron70 not to far your south of KC I’m about one hour north dekalb county mo and Atchison County ks . Muzzleloading in mo soon . If I’m the area I’ll have the gates open turkey season will be here soon Thanks for the reply
And it will be perfectly square
Jeff you a hoot!!
Nice foundation
It's funny when she's quiet haha❤️❤️
It's in Kansas but same problems as in a lot of Oklahoma: Eastern Red Cedars everywhere and tons of sandstone.
Woohoo! New upload 🙏🏻😌
I don't know why I missed these earlier videos. Did you bring lumber from home that you milled yourself? I saw the final product already. Looking good.
Did you put any rebar in the forms? Again those Alabama boys know some stuff! God Bless, Daryl
Nice size for the peirs are you sure that the peirs are not going to heave.
Looks great
