  • Here's everything you need to know about the 2025 Infiniti QX60. We now have a 2.0l VC Turbo four-cylinder engine that replaces the 3.5l V6. But I do believe the Luxe trim is the best choice with the QX60. See my 2024 Mercedes GLE Review: • 2024 Mercedes GLE 350 ...

    Well this news takes me out of the Infiniti market. Was looking forward to a 2025 QX60 but not with a 4 cylinder engine that they have been having issues with, and less hp! The QX80 is out of my reach dollar wise so I guess I’ll start looking at a different manufacture, maybe a Palisade with the 3.8 V6. That MDX sounds decent, just plain ole disappointed in this news. The QX60 and it’s sister the Pathfinder just seem to large for a 4 banger. Probably sounds like a sewing machine.

    I honestly think nissan should come up with a new concepts for a more efficent engines. Im not paying 80k for a 268hp I-4, pre owned cars are going to boom

    Honestly this and the pathfinder redesign are some of my favorite new SUVs on the road. My buddy had the last gen pathfinder and another friend has the last gen qx60 and both are really nice to ride in. The pathfinder got maybe 165k miles before the cvt crapped out. Very happy the redesign switched it to a regular automatic transmission. I think the redesigns, Infiniti or Nissan version, with the v6, are probably going to be excellent options if you can get a good deal on a used one, should be very reliable. It’s a shame they didn’t want to put the twin turbo v6 in it, woulda been cool if they brought back the qx70 maybe they would call it a qx65 a shorter 2 row coupe suv version of the 60, with the big boy engines not the lil 4 bangers they put in the 50s and 55s. Long live the Infiniti fx. Idk if people would actually care if they did it but if they made a Japanese x6 and put the armada engine in it bruhhhhh I would lose it.

      If someone is only looking at brand new tho I can’t imagine the 4 cylinder qx60 being more enticing than an Acura mdx or a Lexus. Once again they are targeting people who want Japanese reliability but only if it’s less expensive than the other 2 big manufacturers. Perhaps the people who care about the death of the v6 are just the hardcore Nissan fans and I imagine people who are actually a fan of Nissan/infiniti would rather jump up to the armada/qx80. Qx80 is still seemingly one of the best suvs on the road, it looks so menacing in person, very few cars match its presence imo

    Volvo was the first to use a 4cyl turbo as the only engine option plus they also offered one of the most powerful PHEVs in the segment Volvo had years to perfect their engines. Other SUV like the GLE, Q7, RX, and TX implements 4cyls only the GLE and Q7 offer a 6cyl or higher. For Toyota/Lexus they hybridized 4cyl for greater power output, I still do not believe in the emissions bullshit or better fuel efficiency. Many companies are following each other every SUV have swapped to 4cyl turbos it does not make any sense for 4,400 SUVs to have two cylinders less and then claim "You can tow 5,000LBS" bullshit. The new QX60 was one of the best premium SUVs from Japan now they are turning into Toyota/Lexus, all these new SUVs are heavier so why take any engine that can manage the job. That is why I like Mazda they offer a phenomenal package compared to other rivals that claim to be premium. It seems like Honda/Acura and Mazda are the only one willing to give the consumer what they want over complicating it. The 4cyl tend is not it these companies are going to suffer long term when they realize that a 4cyl turbo become problematic in the next 4-5 years.

    Nissan V6 is one of a kind, Qx60 might be gone if they don't switch something up. Maybe do a Red Sport that offers a v6 engine. I love my 2015 Qx60 but won't upgrade to a 4banger.

    This still looks yards better than the Nissan Pathfinder. But, I'll admit, I can't swallow price hike (difference) for 2024 to 2025 and the loss of the V6. Now, if they would have upped the performance of the VC-Turbo (i.e. a better tune), then it would not be quite the pill to swallow.

    imo the only excuse for a 4 cylinder is if its hybrid. Fuel economy isn't THAT much better to warrant a 4cyl. At the very least they should have gone with a hybrid like Toyota has with their Grand Highlander (not hybrid max just normal hybrid).

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  Месяц назад

      I don't think Nissan Infiniti has developed a proper hybrid like that. Their VC turbo is pretty impressive one of the better Turbos out there but yea they could have done what Mazda did and borrowed a Hybrid system that would have been better.

  • @ksorsomeplace

    I don't think you'll ever hit the MPG numbers with the VC-Turbo. I had a 2023 Infiniti QX55 for 12,000 or so miles and I never got better than 27 MPG with it. The QX60 would not likely do any better and likely slightly worse. Also, this is worth noting in regards to fuel economy: The QX55 rpm's at 70 were around 2300 rpm which is about 300-350 rpms more than the same engine in an Altima. This is likely the main reason fuel economy is not very good in the Infiniti. That's said it had very good, smooth power delivery. In the QX60 with no better tune, but more $$$ I think is a bad deal. The V6, even though it is has less torque, is still not going to work as hard to propel the vehicle. So, the additional 2 cylinders are worth something in driving feel. I've a V8 Mustang now and it hardly works to get up to speed (not quite as fun because pushing down the gas like I did in the QX55 would easily net me a traffic fine in short order). Personally...the QX50 is the best buy of the Infiniti lineup IMO. In regards to ride quality, I never thought it was poor or rough with the QX55 with its 20 inch wheels and runflat tires, though. I thought it rode and handled very well. It was just short of the push you back in your seat acceleration that the same engine had in the Altima. One other interesting item: The Altima they recommended 5W-30 oil and in the QX55 0w-20 oil. I used the 5W-30 oil in the QX55 and could not detect any noticeable difference in fuel economy. The most perplexing thing to me about Nissan is that they don't use the VC-Turbo in its 4 cylinder form in the Rogue, but instead chop of 1 cylinder to make it a 3 cylinder motor!

    Disagree. Sensory is the one to get. You get almost all of the same stuff that autograph gets but you get a bench which is important since this doesn't have a 3rd row. Autograph basically makes it a 4 seater without the benefits.
