You can forget newer hot hatches in my opinion compared to something like this old Honda Civic (weight, sound, emotions, steering, gear shifts...). I love older hot hatches !!! I drive a completely tuned and a little bit weight reduced JCW MINI R53 from 2004. For me much better than the newer JCW MINI's (they are now to big and to heavy). My car weights about 1120 kilograms with 260 hp at 7800 rpm :)
More fun to drive a slowish light car fast than it is to drive a fast heavy car. Too much on tap easy/instant performance with new/modern hot hatches. They are more like super hatches. The newest Civic Type R is such a big car that fwd no longer makes sense on a car that big. Looks more like an Accord hatchback. The supercharged BMW Mini's are one of the most fun fwd cars ever built. But I prefer the MK1 Focus RS and the EK9 Civic Type R.
@@johnmitchell2269 I agree with you. I miss the emotions, sound (fake sound) and steering feeling (is like dead) on most of the newer cars. I also like the old Focus RS and the old Civic Type-R. With my weight reduction, work on the suspension and sport tyres the steering on my car is really sharp and direct. Nothing compared to most of the newer cars. Really fast corner speed. This is what I love about my car. And my car produces real misfires from the software (they sound different everytime). Over 4000 rpm they are getting louder and more brutal. Unburned petrol thru the exhaust. This car brings me a lot of fun. But for the Autobahn it is not the best car. Small roads with tight corners :)
What can I say? It was worth watching the review of the Civic EG K20 swapped. Loved that one. Please do a review on this as well. I never expected this the Civic EK to be on your channel. I've been driving her in Forza Horizon 5 a couple of times. I have 3 of them with different setups but all single turbos. Please do a review on this Civic EK. I'll really watch. Yes I like American cars a lot but I also like Japanese cars and also European 😊.
I remember back in the 90s when Hondas were everywhere.. I had an 88 CRX with a B16 and man that was a fun car to drive.. now all the Hondas look like space pods
Wat blijven die Honda's toch echt geweldig :) Ik hou van (bijna) alle auto's. Maar een deftige Honda blijft toch altijd op 1ste plaats komen als het om betaalbaar rijplezier gaat :)
She's sounds amazing!! I miss my 99 Si, I sold it 20 years ago. I drive a boring Cadillac these days. This video makes me want one of these again. Bad ass build, well done my friend.
You know somebody's not a true car guy when they discredit a certain car just because they think it's "slow". How could you ignore the beauty of that induction noise while revving up to 9k rpm?
by the sound that this b16 produces, you could say coming from an unsuspecting person that it is a 4age 20v with itb's, however the sound of the 4age to the b16 are very different despite being similar
@@The_Noticer. jdm b16a gen2 stock 170 i believe block is stock head has intake and cams these cams need high comp pistons so thats why i have no torque and hp at low rpm so the topspeed is als not high
@@silvanbouma7844 Your still lucky just to have a good running hot hatch. I've always wanted to get one. Had many friends with that type set up. Had a 96 accord with H23 + tranny regret getting rid of it.
I'm an old fart now, got in the Honda scene in the mid 80's when I lived in Okinawa and Japan. Now that I have a son getting ready to receive his DL looking to do a K20 or K24 swap in something like 95 civic DX in somewhere along those lines in my backyard garage.
My 91 si is feeling kinda slow with a B18C TypeR it’s My first swap since 2008 when I had a 91dx with GSR swap i remember them feeling so much quicker .

i love your mom, yes

I end up killing my d-series alternator on my B16

A good balance of engine roar and exhaust. Some mod to the point where the exhaust was so loud that it masks the beautiful note of the VTEC.
I used to own a few Civics B16, B18, K20 and Accords F20b, H22, and K24 engines. I immediately fall in love with old Hondas once again 😍
Yesss need more Honda videos 🔥🔥🔥 b16 sounds wicked. That vtec engagement 🔥🔥

Vtec kicked it ))
When Vtec kicks in... ❤
😂😂😂
Yo -😊
I used to have a 1992 Civic VTi EG6. Brings back memories!
Ah yes, the Legend - the B16A - Really makes me miss my Integra XSi and Del Sol SiR.
One of the best sound in the history of car manufacturing...
80's 90's Honda always fun to drive👍🏾
AutoTopNL you guys rockk...we love supercars, but sometimes car like this make us excited😀 keep the good job
It's easier to push slow car to its limit than fast car. And reving it to 9k, man that sounds incredible. That's the magic of this car.
2:20 absolutely perfect.
And 3:43
That extra passenger took away a lot of performance!
1st thing i thought, when i saw his sitting there. In a light 4 cylinder, it's more noticeable.
Probably the owner.
@@NoFix Nope, it's Max from this channel.
the car makes only 205hp and got no torque because of the cams that are in there :)
It's slow regardless.

I had an ee8 a few decades ago... Still in my heart...🥲
That engine start 🎉
That VTEC crossover sounds amazing!
Some people want ferrari's others want Lambos. All I need is a VTEC in my life!
a comment that has made my day
Fun. Pure fun. Still. 20 years later.
2:40 u hear the vtec open like crazy but it really sounds like an 4A-GE engine hahaha
Yes, sounds kinda like AE86 with open intake trumpets
I noticed that too
Yeah haha, its probably cause of a carbon intake (whale penis) also got one on mine, sounds exactly like this. Very deep when u give it 100% trottle.
I remember how much fun I had driving a Honda Eg with GSR swap when I started leaning stick shift. Awesome video.
love the Honda content they truly are addicting car when you own or like them especially with vtec lol
the best sounding natural aspirated engine ever, only after the 4AGE, a real eargasm
This is true cars from that years

Ok I'll watch it later.

It's Honda!

"Nothing can stop me to watch it right now"
1.6 NA pulling 200hp. Masterpiece

Beautiful
Not a rocket but definitely not boring either, I'm loving those roads the most👌
Without the title I would have thought it had a 4A-GE.

Light weight is a big advantage of these cars, without the passanger should be even better
And it doesn't even have a Laptop, insane...
More VTEC-YO ! How about driving a stock EK9 CTR or DC2 ITR ?
