  • If you haven't already seen the intro go check it out on my RUclips Channel Todd Castledine Fishing. This new series really dives into how we find and catch bass in real setting. None of that BS you might be used to seeing where guys go out and fish their local ponds or lakes. This is an authentic way of how we fish tournaments and what really goes into the behind the scenes way of thinking. Most show just show you one technique and one way of thinking but really you need to take everything into account. This series does just all that, and right when you think you have it figured out. BOOM everything changes. Check it out!!!!!!!!!!

    Been using a double Carolina rig lately and have caught several fish and even multiple doubles. I tie a 1/2 oz Tokyo rig but a leave a 2 ft tag line off it and tie a 4/0 worm hook on there with either a fluke or stick bait on it. Works very very good in the summer schools.

    I really like this video . The manner in which you are teaching how to progress through all the information , some relevant some not , will help anglers to better locate and catch fish . I also liked how you made clear that your goal was basically a top two finish and not just a settling for a limit of mostly small fish which is what a fun fishing weekend angler may want . He may just want to go fishing and get plenty of bites The ability to connect the dots of all the information you get from each bite and the progression to a successful tournament by getting better quality bites is what defines the best tournament anglers . Only complaint I have is I can hardly wait for the next video . Love your channel , best of luck .

    I'll just keep saying it for the ones that will watch and maybe get confused. your content is honest and useful for how to seek out and develop your own unique plan of attack for tournament fishing. I know that if the day comes and God blesses me with a boat again, your videos have single handedly changed my mind about what success looks like and how to consistently achieve it.

    Lol with the scatter brain comment. I actually can see it because I just watch your alabama series. But it’s not that you just need some coaching. Think of this on guntersville. You caught good fish on a couple docks in each cove. But even after the tournament started you continue to fish all the docks. Instead go straight to the docks. You caught fish slow down pick it apart. Then go to next cove do same thing. Instead of continuing to fish all the docks in the area run and gun just a couple good ones in each cove. Did you look to see why of all the docks just a couple were good.

      @@toddcastledinefishing5924 Todd, Bream are in the Carp family (with cat fish, piranha, minnows even). Were all very old fish. When there were lower oxygen levels in saltwater. Around two hundred and fifty million years ago. The ancestors of the larger Carp family became freshwater instead of saltwater fish. Perch are different. Perch come from the same origins as modern species of bass come from. Perch and bass, are really quite closely related. Compared to Bream and Bass. Which are far apart (Shad and herring fish are different again, sardines are in that family too of oil based, nutrious fish). Basically when a bass sees a minnow, the bass sees it as a miniature Carp. When a bass sees a Shad, it sees a nutrious herring or sardine. When a bass sees a perch or blue gill. What the bass really sees is a first or second cousin. So basically, it is the primary reason that a Bass in the aquarium will react differently. To all of these.

    • @academicmailbox7798
      @academicmailbox7798 2 года назад

      One of the biggest battles that has happened in more recent years. Steven Rinella covered in an episode about the Great Lakes. Was the goby invasion there (it's hard to pin down what a goby is, but it accounts for a massive standalone family of bait fish which is a food source in oceans for a great many important species, like Cod, Haddock, flat fish there). Live off of goby type fish in saltwater. In the Great Lakes for a long while, the Goby there went after White fish (a native and earlier member of salmonoid family of fish). Musky apparently too have been notorious at invading rivers. With salmonoid related 'Char' fish in parts of the north, in America. Such as Maine's rivers. Known as a Brook trout in common lingo. Brook trout have been furiously eliminated by the Musky. And small mouth too. And the cut throat trout in Yellowstone lake in Montana. That were native to there. Couldn't compete with other introduced salmonoids. In that system.

    • @academicmailbox7798
      @academicmailbox7798 2 года назад

      What it means is that lots of different fish, in different families of different origins. In freshwater, have come into contact in certain cases. And often with incredibly drastic results. The goby fish in the north, I think the bass anglers have suggested. Now have become a food source there for bass I think. Which wasn't around before.
