@@mochabanjo I would try it just far enough away to avoid the breath attack. Lightening wyverns have the longest range, and poison can also travel far. Fire wyverns are typically best to trap due to their fire attack having less range than the others.
I was looking forward to this one and you did not disappoint. It’s definitely a little costly compared to some of the smaller traps, but I always struggle using those because the wyvern often gets out. So if it stays in that giant dragon cage then this is going to be awesome. Looking forward to testing this out later.
Thank you, I really hope it works out for you. It took me quite a bit of time messing with things till I finally got it to work consistently. But it does work consistently.
Just tried it but with metal structures as I had a load built for a rock elemental trap; works like a charm! The keypad is stroke of genius and I'm going to use that for other builds! Thanks for the video🙌
Oh awesome, I am really glad to hear that. Thanks for sharing. Also, I was thinking about building a rock elemental trap in the future after I finish up the yuty and thorny dragon trap. Trying to channel those creative ideas 💡 😂
I tried using the trap, but when I closed it, I realized the wyvern hadn’t actually gone inside it was just up against the gate and it kept doing it over and over again. I think I’ll have to switch to the regular setup with four dino gates and hope I don’t have trouble getting it in this time. But if it works for others i guess its still a good design of a trap
I am sorry to hear it didn’t work out for you. It’s been quite a few updates since I released this. I will definitely be looking at making a new and updated trap video with some of my best traps in the near future.
Is this on official server if not are you on PC I'm on PlayStation private server and our wyvern trench is empty as can be no more than 4 to 6 at a time if that
I am on single player on the PS5. When I first went to the trench it was completely empty. 2 wyverns and no eggs. However then I hung out around the area (for videos) when I was building this trap, and I hung out in the oil cave down in the wyvern trench planning some things in there and before I knew it there was 6 eggs and all these wyverns.
I’ve heard from a few of my subscribers that a few of my other traps that worked just fine before have stopped working as well since the last update this week. I am looking to revise them in the near future. Thanks for sharing that this trap was affected as well. I really appreciate it. Also I am sorry to hear you died and lost your stuff in the process.
@@ChaosBearGaming hahahahahahha I'm pretty sure ranchers "milk" their bulls for breeding 😂 I haven't played ark, good to know that's not what this video is about
You are on ASA and not ASE right? Also, which snaps are not working? I give a step by step on how to snap each piece together in the video, but I would be glad to help you troubleshoot.
Theres many different ways to doing things. You could say the same thing about the golem. They are probably an even better choice to “tank” than your own wyvern since they don’t take elemental damage from them and take reduced bite damage. However some people prefer a trap as it’s a more controllable. I think it really comes down to 1. Individual preference 2. Situational circumstances.
Let me know you what your thoughts on the trap are and I hope it helps you avoid having an escaped wyvern in the future.
This so did not work for me. Wyvren consistently escapes before I can get doors closed
@@mochabanjo that is odd. You don’t have any tames on the side and the small outpost with the keypad is still within agro range?
@@ChaosBearGaming I might have my keypad too far away.

I like that it’s very much a trap. I have never used the keypad before, thanks for giving me a reason to try a new engram.
Yeah of course. I definitely haven’t used it before either since I strictly single player, but it was fun to experiment for sure.

You can setup doors how to open - inside or outside
Yeah you just need to hold the Interact button on the door and it’s an option on the radial menu 😀

didnt work, Wyvern always flew below, got killed, server restarted and lost my loot aswell, dont recommend

"Milking" them you say....
Yeah just make sure it’s a female… otherwise the milk you get may be an unpleasant surprise… I don’t think wyverns are cannibals… 😂😂😂

Or you set ypur own wyvern to follow and hop off and let the wyvern tank while you knock it out without some dumbass trap design
