Renner is a hell of an actor, I don’t think he ever lived in Boston, but the accent and every mannerism is on point 😂 best portrayal of a Bostonian from a non-Bostonian in cinema history
I actually read somewhere that he had gone in Boston a few months in advance before the movie was filmed, and that he used to hang out with local people every day in order to learn their accent and their mannerism. What a guy!
I’m so stupid I just realized Renners “love amongst the bleach” line also refers to the beginning of the movie when they cleaned Claire’s bank with bleach after robbing it 🤦🏾♂️
@@MutedGrowl He wasn’t following Doug, he was driving by & saw the truck. He actually was surprised when he saw Clair, you might not be able to tell because criminals develop the skill to keep a poker face.
Yeah ben and his team actually talked with people from boston and people from those times too when robberies were at all time high and even boston dudes serving life for armed robbery too.
One of those great boston crime drama's, another super underrated one was what doesnt kill you, ethan hawke played a great boston criminal, most of these movies are all based on true stories
Some1 who knws what their tlking about. Im from charlestown, the stories/things ive seen or knw could make a few movies. But tht would never happen. What this movie portrays was more based in the early 70's to late 80's.. Wen the code of silence was still alive nd enforced! Drugs ruined everything!
If she saw the tattoo, I believe that would have been the end of her. Jem would know she saw it at the robbery and would have killed her then and there. Doug knew as well and was trying to get her out of there so she didn't see it.
This movie is so realistic and i don't feel bored watch it again and again. The main scene is when he cover ups the tattoo that is very nice move, how deep the director has decided the move if she could have seen the tattoo everything could have blown up. At last the hero has to sacrifice everything that was very painful for me it really hurted me. At last in the phone call she hints him that is very touching. How much I wish if someone loves me like that
...and that's why you should never get a neck tattoo. I find it ironic how some people who have neck tattoos think they really can get away with being a criminal at the same time. It's either one thing or the other, not both lol.
@@aquarius4884 he didn't leave it visible. They were all well covered with masks and hoods. His hood came off when he started beating the manager. So it was on account of him losing control, not the way he dressed.

Always found her to be special kind of lovely. Rennier can act. He can become the character. Far better than A listers like decaprio, pitt and cruise who always play themselves.
Well cruise and Pitt play themselves often but DiCaprio does try to choose a range of different characters- consider films like Django unchained, Gatsby, blood diamond, and revenant.

I wasn't a huge Affleck fan. I could take him or leave him, but The Town was an absolute masterpiece.
He also directed it and wrote the screenplay for it.
Same
just watched the movie. Its not a masterpiece smh
Get a 100 like for that
Why don't you like Affleck? All of his movies are so great tbh

It was unreal how real it was.

This was Renner's best film. He totally becomes the role, or maybe this is the real him..
Agreed. He's never been as good as he was here. It's so odd because in his other movies dude is bland af
Hurt locker was his best performance
Survivor FAN American Hustle was big too. But I agree Hurt Locker is the shit “chill out Sandborn!”
Loved him in SWAT.
Patently none of you all seen ‘ wind river’. He’s brilliant

One of the great things about The Town is the dialogue writing, the exchanges, you can almost feel the tension. Great writing
