Oh Jodi! You need to get a potting mat. They are plastic with snaps on the sides. When you snap the snaps it forms a “tray” that you can pot on and when your finished you can just fold it up They are great and contain all the dirt and water💕

@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 I'll second the potting mat recommendation. The one I got I think was 36" and was only 12 dollars on Amazon. Makes cleanup easy because I just make it into a funnel and dump into the soil bag.

Hi Jodi 👋. Sorry I'm late. Yesterday was the last day of passover.
    But I'm here today.
    The diffenbacchia looks good.
Here's a tip. When pulling plants from pots... Put the stem between your third finger and fourth finger very near the palm. Then just turn the pot and your hand over. You will be supporting the stem like sith a very young baby. Once tipped over on your hand use the other hand to pull the pot off and check the roots. Less stress to the plant this way, too.
Peace lilies are great indoors. They help with air quality.
Looks like some my mom have had since my Aunt Mildred passed then my grandmother. Only water when the dirt is dry. Yes. They do get thirsty. She can probably be divided into 2 pots. Yes. These are toxic to cats. Try putting it up on a hangar up on the wall or from the ceiling.
The tulips daffodils, hyacinth all look great. The plantings will go well out back. Make sure your cardboard is brown NOT YELLOWISH... Yellowish are toxic sprayed and will kill anything you plant there afterwards.
My chore list has grown. Not sure how much I'll get done this week...but added now is cutting parts of the privet down and bag. Cutting out bits of carpet to trash with an ok from my landlord. And laundry room "junk shelf" clean out. Don't know how much I'll get done. We have had to put on AC here for the last 4 days. Ugh.
    See you later, Jodi!!!

Hi Jodi, your flowers are beautiful!!! Your peace lily needs to be split. The best way to do it is take it outside and take it out of the pot and roll the root ball back and forth. Some will seperate on their own. If there is a big clump you can take a knife and cut it and just pull the roots to seperate them. You could actually get like 6 or 7 plants out of it if you wanted.😊

Peace lilies are so hardy! I had a peace lily from my grandfather 's funeral that I fertilized in January, the same way I do every winter and wound up killing it. I was so upset! But when I did the math, I realized that it has been 28 years since he passed. A pretty good ru. For a plant and how many times it has moved with me and been repotted.
My cats have mostly liked the dirt vs the plants. I feed my indoor plants left over coffee a few times a month. Which has always seemed to keep the cats far away in general.

Jodi love the indoor plants but your tulips are gorgeous. I wish I had the strength to keep up with annuals. Last night I was able to water some of my plants and my Easter lilies are barely blooming. It makes my heart happy. I also have a creme colored hibiscus outside my bedroom window but it's not flowering yet. I agree with you that gardening is a zen thing, ❤ it. I talk to my plants and trees all the time. I used to think my mom was looney tunes for doing that....now it's me 😂.

My pollinators love the oregano patch I have. I also found some violets at a roadside stand or a plant sale here locally once. Just a little cup and 10 years later they are little tufts of purple around the yard in the spring, then just sort of blend in with the yard the rest of the time. I am hoping to get hollyhocks started this year. And rhubarb.

I've had my peace lily 10 years. I repotted her last fall. I had to put her in well drained soil and water her about every 10 days. Pour enough water util it runs into the saucer and leave about 30 minutes. Pour out the excess. Peace Lilies also get root rot with excess watering. No direct sunlight and mine hates city water. Trim the dark tips and remove any bad leaves. I think it's time to split yours.

All the perennials I have gathered over time are Lilac (smell AMAZING), english daisies, grape hyacinths, hosta, mint (in pots only to avoid fast spreading), container berry bushes, Freesia, Triteleia, Ranunculus, Gladiolus, Iris. I may be forgetting some but I'm really not sure. Definitely check your zone to make sure what your cold average temps are to find plants that will be well suited to your area. Chamomile self seeds like crazy for me and I find it growing everywhere and I just pull the plants out if I don't want them where they are and replant them or compost them if I don't want so many plants in general of it. My Walmart has tags on the plant that are purple and say Perennial or red and say Annual. Makes it much easier to spot the plants I'm trying to focus on getting.

Hi Jody. I’m sorry you had an expense on the Well. This is what’s happening in our part of the world. We had the Furnace break down in January then the Waterless water heater broke in March then the Garbage disposal broke in April and still in April today the Motor in the Master cool Air Conditioner stopped working! Whew I hope this is the end of our exciting journey for this year. 😅 God bless you and your family.

I feel your pain! My kids were in a car accident the end of January (not their fault, but the other driver was uninsured), that was Friday, Sunday the water heater went out, went through all that and waiting 3 weeks to get the replacement, only to find out it wasn't the right thing so had to buy a second water heater that was twice the price so it would vent correctly. So that was January, most all of February, and I went out to walk our dog Friday, slipped, fell on top of my foot, and broke it. Hopefully things settle down and I can tie up loose ends while I'm chilling in bed. Lol. Safely, in bed.

You are really a plant maniac now!😘 Good for you doing all that research on them. I have one plant given to me by my son, he is a plant maniac too. I have a lot of weeds coming up through my rock which normally I would be on top of but waiting for knee replacement and it is quite painful. It is maddening to see, I did get on the ground and pulled some weeds but then granddaughter wanted to go in.
So that must be rough to rely on wells, I have no knowledge. My biggest fear is if the water pipe to the street gets a hole. It is incredibly expensive and one has no choice. My house was built in 1954. You are saving so much money by growing from seed.
Clark is so lean without his winter coat. Gorgeous tulips! If I feel ok in the fall I am going to plant more tulips and daffodils. Many plants in my back yard are toxic but the dogs ignore them but have to keep a close eye on the granddaughter, she is very inquisitive. Thank you for this video Jodi!😘

My friend get you an able-Top Gardener Portable Potting tray. I had one for decades. Big planting indoor adventure canvas tarp.
Tip fighting weeds. I call it drawing battle line. Cuz it is a war. I draw an imagery line. One side has been weeded. When I walk the yard those weed coming on winning side get pulled first. When in mood I will start from the line and work my way. I hand pull lots of weeds. Then I have a hoe. To pop dandelions.
Chemicals I use on dallas grass. I have chemical kill brush for hack berry and unwanted honeysuckle.
Besides dandelions. Cheatergrass(spear grass) worst enemy. Then bindweed I go crazy walking around with grocery bag very gently lift the plant, try not to drop any leaves and put in the bag put that another bag. Each leaf will start a plant.
Buying plant. Check out the local native plant society they have biannual plant sales.
Biggest tip. Go to Hd or Lowe’s and such look for end of planting season bulbs and tubers super sales. Yes they are too late to plant but go ahead and d plant.
Truth I have planted so many bulbs and tubers in the yard. No idea where what is planted.
I have a ton of iris.yes I need to split them hahah I don’t have energy to do it.
How is my yard going year 2 with native grass. I lost 2 trees in front. Here you go front is in cut half by side walk. Then cut into quarters. 1/4 freaking don’t know by it 1/4 st. Augustine that I am not watering and keep very tall mow with mulch lawn mower 1/4 native grasses. Year 2. Planning no mowing but spear grass was give the native grasses trouble. Last 1/4 is for butterflies and bees. Non mow area. I need tons of milkweed. Yes people my front yard is very odd. Please note I don’t have HOA.
Some HOA are becoming okay to native grasses.

Very much enjoyed this video. I enjoy houseplants, although some have been known to come home with me to die😢. I have two different peace lilies, and need to find out what the lighter leafed one is about. Your tulips are fantastic! What a lovely show of color. Sadly, im in Georgia and they need digging up each year and the bulbs put in the cold. Our ground doesnt freeze, so they dont return.

Oh Jodi….you don’t want that wood chuck at all! They dig holes into foundations, eat up bulbs, flowers etc! We live in the country in SDak and had a female have 6 babies! They dug damage in our shelter belt with fruit trees. Call someone to live trap it to another area if you can.

My three wine barrels of tulips came up this year. My neighbors dog gave birth to five cute puppies. These guys loved my husband and would hear him out and about and come visit. I guess they though my tulips were toys and destroyed all three tubs. Mauled them at night, our cameras caught the rascals on tape. Poor tulips. Oh well. Better luck next year.
