I love how Sakurabas music brings back memories from previous games he's done. Any composer can do a good score but this guy invokes nostalgia among fans.
I like this one! Very reminiscent of Sakuraba’s Tales of Arise style (see the Final Boss theme) and kinda sounds like The Valedictory Elegy from Baiten Kaitos and Flame of Hope from Tales of Arise too!
Much like Raymond's battle theme, I think this is on the weaker end of Star Ocean battle themes. Still good though and I will enjoy hearing it in game. It doesn't quite have the same effect on me as previous Motoi Sakuraba battle themes.
It's comparing apples to oranges. People who like orchestra in music will like this more, vice versa. They are both made in different style to represent the difference in world of both MC
X3 soundtrack was a big letdown. Except first battle theme there's noting memorable about its soundtrack. Which is strange because X2 soundtrack was a true banger. Every single song was so good. All battle themes were kicking asses.
Raymond : Active, pump full of action, modern electric
Leticia : epic, slower pace orchestra, old world
The fact Tri-Ace took the time to record 2 - Different battle themes is excellent :)
I love Sakuraba's ability to capture both sci-fi and fantasy in his music so beautifully, in one game no less!
He’s the perfect composer for these series
This song scream so much Valkyrie profile that I love it! Im loving this game a lot 🔥🔥🔥
Laeticia looks like a VP character too, for fucks sake, lol
Me too, it's really good
This theme is interesting because it sounds like it combines For Achieve and Eternal Sonata Count Waltz boss theme. two of my favorite from Sakuraba
Bruh I knew I had heard something similar before and Count Waltz was exactly it. Banger of a game, needs a remaster so bad.

"We Live to Fight another Day!"
At 1:12, a part of Cutting Edge of Notion from Star Ocean 3 can be heard.
Close but yes, he loves doing that
I like this one! Very reminiscent of Sakuraba’s Tales of Arise style (see the Final Boss theme) and kinda sounds like The Valedictory Elegy from Baiten Kaitos and Flame of Hope from Tales of Arise too!
Sakuraba truly never misses. lets hope this game slaps as hard as this theme
We enter a new Sakuraba era with this soundfont
I literally wrote the same thing before seeing this comment.
The soundtrack is awesome.
Now this is how you get me to play a game twice. Give me 2 absolutely bitchin' different musics to play the game to. Ah yeah.
2:36 is wonderful
@1:14
This part. Always makes me "it's time to go all out, D.U.M.A. zoomies, activate" and blindside all over the enemy.
So hyped for this game
So the battle theme is different when you choose the main protagonist? Raymond's theme is quite electric
Ah, I see Sakuraba has added another three minutes to “Battle Theme”.
Beggning and 0:55-1:05 are so epic
Also I hear some B. A. C. H. as well :)
exciting…no words other I think.
Why I kinda feels similarities to the battle theme of Star Ocean Last Hope? Especially on the beginning
At roughly 1:14 it sounds like "fighting of the spirit" from Tales of Phantasia/Symphonia or am I tripping?
This is so much better than Raymonds theme.
Definitely captivates that space opera-esque feel a lot better.
It's very similar to Eternal Sonata battle theme.
Yup. Absolutely!
Lol this sounds like the third phase of the final boss from Tales of Arise
I miss Baiten Kaitos battle theme, Valkyrie Profile battle theme, Golden Sun Isaac battle Theme, Star Ocean 2, 3, 4 battle theme!!!!!!!!!!
Much like Raymond's battle theme, I think this is on the weaker end of Star Ocean battle themes. Still good though and I will enjoy hearing it in game. It doesn't quite have the same effect on me as previous Motoi Sakuraba battle themes.
Similar to Golden Sun Battle theme
Same composer
So this is Sakuraba's Moebius Battle Theme.
This is so much better than Ray’s theme it’s not even funny
Nope. Not even close. Too orchestral.
Literally sounds like a boss theme...
It's comparing apples to oranges. People who like orchestra in music will like this more, vice versa. They are both made in different style to represent the difference in world of both MC
I'd take this music over XC3 anyday.

@@sirmiluch6856 Agreed
This wasn't memorable, they all sound the same to me lately , so sad
