Absolutely love the new arrangement style of Sakuraba, the synths and guitars sound amazing. Very unique and intense battle theme, one of his best recent works. Great composition and arrangement.
Motoi Sakuraba is a legend but for this one... shout outs to the title for being character relevant AND being a great battle song title. I can't see the title and NOT hear it in Raymond's voice.
@JasperTheCatgotfuckedbyPhil Indeed it does, but a lot of Motoi's output, especially in the mid-2000s to the start of the 2010s, sounded really really REALLY like the same with the basic battle themes. Makes sense when you're doing 12 hours of game music a year for like 8 different companies, but still they all sounded very much like each other. This one, I joke, he finally came up with a new foundation for a battle theme. Context: I've been studying his music for 20 years. :P
@JasperTheCatgotfuckedbyPhil You're not disagreeing with me, we're both on that same page, you're just not understanding half of it. Let's just leave it there as I don't think you will.
Well when you have made over 300 OSTs things are bound to sound similar even if you compare it to his non video game work and his prog rock band Deja Vu. You said you been studying his music for over 20 years so you should know how massive his output is. Sakuraba before he composed Tales of Phantasia had a larger ouvre than Nobou Uematsu entire carrer including The Black Mages and Earthbound Papas. Frank Zappa made 119 albums Sakuraba made 3X as much. Excluding Japanese expermintal artist Mersbrow, Motoi Sakuraba is one of the most prolific musical artists WHO HAS EVER LIVED.
LMFAO, motoi sakuraba is my favorite composer and this made me laugh way too hard. He actually has a few battle themes out there that aren't copy paste, but for the most part you're absolutely right
Such a wonderful theme, definitely my favorite from Star Ocean 6. Even after completing the postgame I still pick random fights with roaming enemies just to hear this theme haha.
During the first tutorial battle I was just like "god damn, they didn't have to go this hard on the normal battle track" lol. This joint slaps especially at the beginning (which is good because that's the part you're gonna hear the most during battles).
Thank you for uploading this!! I was so happy to hear they refined the music in the demo :D Sounds much better than the first version of this battle theme (even though that one slapped too)
This may be Raymond's Battle Theme that'd make Edge Mavrick's Battle Theme's (though his stapled 1 is Blood on the Keys) outclassed, the tempo of it sounds more like u took a big hit & now ur trying to control a falling ship as it plummets into a crash landing Lol & given Ray's *semi firey persona* this theme *really fits him* 😛😏
To Anyone Wondering, Edge Mavrick owns *3 Battle Themes* from SO4's game (Blood on the Keys, & the additional 2 remade symphoic themes from both SO1 & 2 together)
Isn't it interesting how they have a picture of Raymond with a giant sword, but there isn't one in the game...? or at least I didn't find one. By the way, how many people think that the composer was going more for a "Ys" type theme here? When I first played the game and got in my first battle, I was thinking "man, this is awesome, just like Ys VIII!"
Reminds me of the art of Marche in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. He has this axe looking weapon that isn't in the game, though it does remind me a little of the weapon Rue from Threads of Fate uses.
Game seems to be severely butchered and rushed out. How can a modern game contain lesser content than a ps2 game that required 2 cd roms back in the days. TriAce seems to be suffering major budget for their big games nowadays, they rather be pumping out slops like star ocean mobile or that valkyrie profile mobile games that no one really talk about
Imo this theme fits Raymond pretty well, it's got this super upbeat and whimsical melody to it. Matches his laid-back and childlike personality. On another note, I'm so glad this game was actually quite good. Not quite reaching the zenith of Second Story/Till the End of Time, but definitely a redemption after Last Hope and especially Faithlessness and Integrity.
I liked last hope though some felt missing for that and 5 was.....meh I liked having 7 party members on field but I was pretty much a re skin of 3....but bad 😞
It's not bad but the biggest issue I have with a lot of his music is that his melodies are super weak so there are very few audio hooks to latch onto. I can replay nearly the entirety of every FF battle theme in my head. If you played a battle theme from SO orchestrated, I genuinely don't think I could tell you what game it came from. He does have some bangers.
Nah SO battle themes are much better than FF. FF is just duh duh duh duh duh duh duh duh repeated over again ever single game. This is music to blast to. I guess depends what you like.
Uematsu is a legend for making some of the greatest soundtracks of all-time particularly with FF7 and 8, but a lot of his stuff post-FF8 is very hit-or-miss. People need to get over it. We're in 2022, not 2000.

Just started playing this game with my mom and we were banging our heads nonstop ngl

Well it only took Motoi Sakuraba a decade and a half, but he finally made a battle theme that sounds different than one he's done before.
Why change perfection

Man this new TMNT track slaps pretty hard.

One of my favorite Motoi Sakuraba battle themes and this bro is legendary. I love Star ocean & especially the Namco Tales series most.
Yeah this one and track named Expiration from Star Ocean Till The End of Time 👍👍
The demo was awesome and so was this tune. Looking forward to the game
Less than 2 weeks away! HYPE!
And Matoi Sakuraba said: Star Ocean will not go silently into the night.
RAGE MY FRIEND ! RAGE AGAINST THE DYING OF THE LIGHT !!!
God this tune slaps harder than my pop on report card day
That begs some questions, but it's probably not appropriate to ask them to someone named "Nunya Business".
Love this track. Loved playing as Raymond first.
Thank you for uploading this!! I was so happy to hear they refined the music in the demo :D Sounds much better than the first version of this battle theme (even though that one slapped too)
"i'm Flying!"
Corporal Cape man: "I'm Flying! WeeeeeeeeeE!!"*
Reminds me so much of star ocean 2 literally the best ost out of the series 😍
Sounds like I wandered into an F-Zero X track.
I like to listen to this at 2x while speeding down my street.
I get the feeling you have Cotard Syndrome, too...

I think the art was made first but the weapon was never added / removed in the final xD

I like playing as laeticia more, but I like raymond's song more.
Anyone playing this for the new year?
I did that....Sort of
I started the Game in December 18 2023 and didn't play anything else until i completed it 100% (which took me like a month)

@@KLONOA105 Yeah, Last Hope was definitely missing some stuff, but it wasn't missing a _soul_ like 5 was.
Also Klonoa ftw, haha~
Why does this sound different from the other version
What other version? You mean Laeticia's battle theme? This one is Raymond's.
@@bumbayker this one ruclips.net/video/Ld7AgtVnWkc/видео.html
There's actually two versions of Raymond's theme. I forgot exactly when it changes in the game, but this is actually the second version.
I think I will stick to the laeticia theme when the full game comes out. Her playthrough will probably be first.

I can remember every Star Ocean 3 battle theme hell even town themes.

Moitoi is past his prime. I heard this Nobuo Uematsu is a good up-and-commer
Terrible take, my dude

@@neonfatum ff9 I would say was his best!
Nobuo is overrated
His last story soundtrack was awful and forgetable
ngl i like SO5 battle theme alot more even tho the game itself was dogshit. This theme is ehh to me
