    I have a project that is right up your alley for all you altered cigar box fans. By combining multiple cigar boxes, you can create a piece of art that is also functional. Hunt down some boxes, choose your theme, and you're good to go.
    For more information on the images, pictures of the project, and supply list, click on this link: artfullymusing.blogspot.com/20...
    There is also a companion PDF document that includes how to make the flip-up lid box mentioned in the video - here is the link: drive.google.com/file/d/0B3Kk...

    You are an exceptionally good instructor. Many tutorial videos are so disjointed and miss important instructions. You are well organized and careful to present things in logical order with great tips and photos. The only con is this: it is MOD-podge, not modGE-podge. Yeeks.

    Now this is a great idea! Not what you'd expect, but, after collecting a bunch for instruments, I am left with odd shapes and left overs, as well as a need for small parts in easy access to build these instruments. I like this concept!

    Laura, Laura, Laura!!!! I cannot thank you enough for this fantastic way for me to use all the boxes that I have tired of making as single gifts for family and friends. I still have a ton of boxes and this is the perfect way for me to start the gift process all over with a totally new project other than jewelry boxes! GREAT IDEA!

      Where would I get cigar boxes and the match boxes I've seen used in other videos??

    • @ArtfullyMusingLaura
      @ArtfullyMusingLaura  3 года назад +1

      You can look on Etsy and also any cigar shops you might have where you live. Many times they will give away empties or let you purchase them. Matchboxes you can buy in the grocery store, they are usually in the isles with clean supplies or barbeque items.

    Be careful if you cut Spanish cedar cigar boxes. The dust is highly carcinogenic.

    • @winterjoel

      Honestly, your claim is overstated.... From The Wood Database: "Allergies/Toxicity: Although severe reactions are quite uncommon, Spanish Cedar wood dust has been reported as a respiratory irritant. See the articles Wood Allergies and Toxicity and Wood Dust Safety for more information."
      Not quite "highly carcinogenic."
      If you're worried about the "moderate risk" that wood dust causes, see here: www.verywellhealth.com/wood-dust-and-lung-cancer-whos-at-risk-3971878, written by a Lung Cancer physician. The article further points out that hobby woodworking "doesn't appear to carry the risk of lung cancer."
      You probably have more to fear from the knife or saw that you're cutting the wood with (blades are "highly skin-cutting"). Or the stairs you just went up or down.
      Wood dust (and probably any dust) can be problematic in large doses--and there certainly are some woods that have bigger problems than others--but cutting and sanding some Spanish Cedar on a hobby basis is nothing to fret about. Go ahead and wear a mask or respirator--but "highly carcinogenic" is probably a bit extreme! (I appreciate the caution--it's just best used when judiciously used.)
