That insert in the New World box, would be a great tool drawer organizer.
You might look at youtube for rust removal. Easy to do with a bit of copper wire, vinegar alligator clips and an old phone charger. Doesnt damage anything and really does a thorough job with out elbow grease. You can also do zinc and copper plating with the same rig. Zinc sticks to steel and copper sticks to zinc. Both can receive different patinas. ( gun blue/ black, brown and verdigris)
Use the thin box for a stomp box.
Hi Del! The smaller or skinnier boxes can be used for Stomp Boxes too. I built one for one of my friends. 1 piezo away from a drum beat!👍😎🎶
I’ve made some of the best sounding ukuleles out of those Island Jim boxes. And you can never have too many Curly Heads and Tabaks.

All great boxes. I've been trying to find a punch box local but no one really seems to smoke them in this area. I have become fond of the Cohiba Toro boxes. Great looking boxes, nice finish on them and they sound great.

In B.C. Canada they've made it so all the cigar boxes are just brown paper wrapped. No more cool cigar boxes for over a year now. Good thing I bought a few to tide me over when they were available.
I saw on the bottom of that Padron box, it cost $1. Here in the UK you can get cigar boxes from various websites, but they usually sell for around £20 or $24. So if you bought that job lot of boxes for like $50. In the UK that would cost £1,000 or $1,242 The problem is, Websites and sellers know exactly what people want these boxes for. So whereas 5-10 years ago you could pick these things up from the trash, or for next to nothing, nowadays you pay crazy prices for an old wooden box. Hence why when I built my first CBG, I made the box too, out of whatever scrap wood I had lying around. I guess its not exactly a CBG, but CBG style and still looks cool.
Hey Brother Del! Just wanted to throw a big "Thank you" your way for all the great videos and info you've shared over the years. Man! I came across this CBG world completely by happenstance. My boss (a big cigar connoisseur) knew I did woodworking and gave me a truck load full of cigar boxes and asked me to do something with them. The Drew Estates Acid boxes were a no-brainer - removed stickers - refinished with a hand rubbed finish - flocked the insides and laser-etched the company logos on the lids. They were a big hit for company gratuities. But what to do with the rest??? Well, I did what anyone would do! I asked Brother Google for suggestions. Thats when I found you! I'm currently on build #2 and #3. You're a blessing Brother. Thanks again!

So how many boxes and how much all together? I'm wondering what your average cost per box is. I noticed a recurring theme of thick walls for electric builds - and a recurring theme of all wood construction - no pressboard or fiberboard boxes. Are you stepping up your "tone wood" game ? .
How much did they cost on average?
Prices typically range from about three hundred dollars to five hundred dollars depending on the bells and whistles. I don’t take any money until after I’m done and then only if you like it based off the internet video. Blessings.
