Met Luis in Cincinnati last season, a great guy and it's been a joy to watch him play the field this season. If he doesn't win a Gold Glove it will truly be a shame
The sad thing is he probably won't I don't think he's gonna be close to having enough time at one postion. He didn't start at the beginning of the season, shared time with mcneil at 2nd, and now is sharing time with escobar at 3rd, plus now he's hurt so while he may very be the best infield glove in the major leagues the gold probably isn't going his way
Luis has been a nice part of the Mets success this year and it's cool of you to give him the attention he deserves. Keep up the good work and Let's Go Mets!
It is truly awesome to watch Luis play for the Mets this season. He is the teams culture personified: playing excellent defense, willing to get dirty and grind out at bats and slap the ball the other way. Hoping they go far in the playoffs so he really gets to shine in the spotlight.

Very happy to see this video! I love Guillorme. As a huge mets fan, it has been so fun to watch him since he came up a few seasons ago. I love to see videos like this talking about the cool and unsung players in MLB.
It’s a shame he got hurt today. He’s always been very sound defensively but has really stepped up the offensive part of his game. He’s a big part of the Mets success this year. Thanks Luis!
How did I not see this video until today? My son and I watch nearly every Mets game. Guillorme has been one of our absolute favorite players for as long as he's worn the orange and blue. Incredible talent. Superlative baseball smarts. And just a boatload of fun to watch! Thanks for making others aware of this amazing player!
Sorry for the double comment, but I would LOVE to see the same type of video for Nido. He does so many little things right- he is up there with Guillorme with IQ and his ability to catch this veteran staff has been fun to watch
Loved watching this as a Mets fan. He really does everything well or, at a high level when he's on the field. I hope he gets shown some more love, by more fans/teams around the league.
4:54 - At that time I Tweeted "there is exactly one (current) infielder I trust to identify and make this play and his name is Luis Guillorme" Mets fans have gotten to watch his fantastic defense and his really great ability to identify good defensive choices, and it's been a treat
As a Mets fan I’m well aware of Luis. He’s improved a lot this season, similar to how Diaz, Lindor and Alonso have improved. He got hurt in todays rubber game against the Phillies. Hope he recovers quickly.
Edwin Diaz had a down stretch but was known as a dominant closer before the Mets, Pete had to deal with no more juiced balls and the down and away off speed. Lindor was more off a head situation his fundys never left but he let a bad start carry over and with no lineup protection prolly felt isolated for a lot of season
As a Mets fan, I love watching Guillorme! But some concern for him right now as he left today's game, hope it's not serious so he can come back to being the best defender soon
I’m a Mets fan. And I appreciate you, appreciating Guillermes contributions to the game of baseball. Thank you for this video. You a put a big smile on a lot of Mets fans face with this one
Yes, Luis is a incredibly underrated player. I've been waiting for him to take it to another level with his bat for the last 3 years and to see him breakout like he has is one of the nicest things about this season with the Mets
Yes. I’m a huge Mets fan and thank you for doing this. He’s the most amazing infielder I’ve ever seen, and that includes Rey Ordoñez. Luis Guillorme is as good as Rey was, but from 3 infield positions, is far better offensively, and can grind pitchers down. There aren’t enough superlatives for this guy.
Myself being a Mets as well as Yankees fan I can say Luis is a fan favorite across my family as well as the Mets fan base. He is the utility player that a lot of young children should strive to be, someone who is very skilled with his glove, can play many positions and has good bat to ball skill. He may not look like the most athletic or have the most power but he’s got all the tools needed for an everyday platoon guy which means you can play for a long time. I think I truly fell in love with Luis’s game (if I hadn’t already) when my dad and I sat down to watch a Mets spring training game and we saw his iconic 22 pitch at bat. One of the best at bats I’ve ever watched of all time. I’m grateful for Luis and I’m sooooooo glad you made this video.
My dad and a lot of my friends are Mets fans, so I see my daily dose of Luis Guillorme. He really is something else. I was actually on vacation in Miami and saw that play on July 29th in person. I always love a smart baseball player.
I know Luis I’ve known him for a while because I’m a diehard Mets fan and I’m surprised to see this video because Luis should get a gold glove. 1 he can shift right or left better than anyone. 2 he is one of the most underrated hitters. His average is 281 and he gets a base hit every game.
Yes. I remember first seeing him in 2017 in spring training when he first cracked the 40 man. His glove impressed me right away. His ability to field 2nd, 3rd, and short has made him extremely valuable to my Mets. For those of you who don't know, Guillorme is easily a gold glove caliber infielder who could be an everyday guy on most teams solely because of his glove.
You're right. I had never heard of him. But he did things in this video that were pretty amazing. Making the most out of his talent, good for him. Glad he's a starter now, he deserves it.
So great you made this video. I'm a die hard Mets fan and have loved watching Luis come up the last few years. So cool to see him living up to his potential this year with more game time. Awesome you have included his spring training heroics in here too. Luis is one of the slickest fielders to play the game and you are right, one of the smartest too. Respect for making this !!!
I think his uncommon body type for his athletic ability, lack of batting gloves, use of an outfielders glove in the infield, and him always packing a lip contribute to his image. He has the I don’t care and I’ll play how I want to vibe which makes him a fan favorite.
Thank you for making this video!! I love watching him playing, his low key, humble attitude, but it is cool to watch him being praised for his game!! especially if we make a deep run on the playoffs this year, he deserves to be remembered as a very important piece of this team.
This is one of the best videos I’ve ever seen. I’ve been a fan of Luis’ for years, and I love seeing him get this recognition now. His hands are magic.
Gold gloves typically go to everyday players not guys who's career high is 90-some games in a season. Maybe now he can have a better chance since they have one specifically for utility players though.
Yes. Huge Mets fan here and I have had the pleasure of watching Guillorme’s glove work since his first appearance on the team. I remember seeing him for the first time and saying to myself thinking “ppffftt, this guy is a baseball player?” Then I watched him play and said “wow, this guy is a baseball player!” Most underrated player in the league.
It really is too bad there isn’t a utility player gold glove, because he would absolutely win it. Man deserves more recognition as one of the league’s best defenders.
I'm so glad you included the spring training game where he caught the bat. It was so smooth lol. Also, thank you from a Mets fan for showing Guillorme some love! He really deserves it! Hopefully he comes back soon!
Yes! I actually went to a Binghamton game in 2017. I did not know any of the prospects on the team. Then I was impressed by Guillorme’s defense. I am so happy that he ended up making the Mets and being an impactful piece.
Mets fans have known the name for some time now, but the man is consistently slept on. Great contact hitter and a nasty glove. Love to see him get some love. Great vid
The behind the back flip to lindor at 2nd, that's the big one for me. Shows he not only has the spatial awareness to pull that one out off to begin with but trusts Lindor and LED him directly into the double play throw. One of the quietest monumental plays you'll ever see
It’s like “yes that is how you do that” but we never see it tried in a game. All his amazing plays are like that to me. It’s like he’s bringing baseball back to its ultimate potential for beauty and intelligence.
Love this video. He was my favorite when he played for the Mets and it was awesome to see him position player pitch against us this year! I wish his bat had been more reliable so we could've kept him!
Yes. As I life-long Mets fan it's been a joy to watch Guillorme play. I really feel like he's been their secret weapon this season. As you noted - Pete, Lindor, Diaz, and the dream duo of Mad Max & DeGrom get all the headlines, but Luis is just out there doing everything right day after day and those can be the guys that really make the difference between a good team and a great one.
Hell yes, Luis. One of the best things about watching him play more regularly this season is that I got reminded of how much I fell in love with watching the great defensive infields the Mets had in the late 90s; having him and Lindor makes me feel like they've had a noticeable uptick in double plays turned, which felt like such a regular occurrence when I was a kid watching Ordonez and Alfonzo turn to throw to Olerud.
Oh yes, I’m an angels fan, but the Mets are so entertaining to watch, I watched his 22 pitch at bat in spring training, I watched him catch the bat when (I forgot who) someone let go of their bat when they swung, did it like he does it yesterday, and he is the most underrated play in baseball

Yes. I was actually at the game where he hit his first Major League Home Run. We were playing the Nationals at home in August 2019. I think he was a Pinch Hitter and a whole row of drunk frat bros in front of me were shouting at him not to swing.
He’s back from injury tonight and I couldn’t be any more excited. Luis plays with so much flair and every ball to infield feel like an opportunity for him to do something magic.
was talking to a coworker who claimed to be a Mets fan, when they asked me who my favorite player was and when I replied with Guillorme, he laughed at me. That's when I realized this guy is not a Mets fan.
Guillorme is easily one of the most important players we have and is part of the reason why at our best our defense is nigh impenetrable(I mean there is a reason why this team had a combined no hitter this year)
OOTP loves Guillorme. Currently in year 5 of his career and with a month left in the season he’s slashing .350/.475/.425 and leading the league in MVP voting and WAR. Might be the first position player MVP with a high OBP than Slugging.
Couldn't have said it better!!! Nice seeing someone appreciating greatness. Went to a Met game, wanting a Luis Guillorme Jersey/Shirt, ooo we don't sell him. I was furious lol. He reminds me of the II coming of Edguardo Alfonso. I praise Buck, i hated Rojas not playing him. My fear tho is you know Mets bringing up Batty next year or 2. This man needs to be our starting 2nd basemen for the next 5-8 years (he plays better there), i don't mind him being starting 3rd basemen but that's Batty sooner then later. This is why I wish Mets included Batty in a deal to bring another superstar. I don't want to see Luis be a bench player, he needs to start.
@@derekwang7330 To say he’s been so good is a stretch? He’s a utility player who’s played very well and has come up big in many moments for the team. He doesn’t have to be an All Star to be very good.
As a met fan and also a middle infielder i once talked to Luis and he told me about how to think while on the field then i won that season the gold Glove in my little leauge last year and i bought the same wrap/Tap he wears and it helps a lot with getting the ball out quick
I think the mlb should make a gold glove for utility players because luis’s glove is platinum glove level but he doesn’t play enough in one position to qualify for the award
yeah, those guys definitely deserve a lot more recognition, DJ LeMahieu also fits in that category pretty well, he plays GG level in at least second and third and he's above average at first but wouldn't really qualify for either since he rotates so much
I'm a Mets fan very familiar with Luis Guillorme. In fact I was at the game on 7/30/2021 where he made that play VS the Reds around 3:41 mark. Just incredible to witness that live.
I keep coming back to watch this video. So sad that he isn't a Met anymore but I am glad he is still in the NL East. I hope they give him the playing time he deserves. My man!!
Luis IS my favorite Met! Even Buck said that there should be a category at the All Star game for Utility Player. He would have won HANDS DOWN!! Thanks a lot for such a well-made video of a truly unsung hero! And, yeah...no shaving that beard, unless it's off season and for a commercial like the one Broadway Joe did back in the day! Thanks, again!
There was a play that you missed. On July 9 2022 Luis made an amazing 86 mph rally throw home to get the marlins runner out. I was at this game and you probably know this but Brandon Nimmo got a walk single on an error.
Guillorme is an absolute legend! As a Mets fan for over 38 years, I can genuinely say he’s one of the best I’ve ever seen play. It makes me so happy to see him finally get noticed. 😊
Mets fan here. He's become one of my favorite parts of the team this year. I made sure to point him out to my dad at a Mets game we went to back in June. I hope we see him back playing soon!
Bro, everybody who isnt just a casual fan of baseball knows who he is. He plays in New York, the largest media market in the world, and he is on a first place team. You're a good youtuber @starkravingsports, you don't need to click bait a title for views. Now, with that being said it was a good video anyway.
I've followed Luis since he was drafted by the Mets. Just ridiculously fun to watch play the game. People have always slept on his bat despite his ability to put bat on balls. TTO baseball was at the peak of it's popularity as he was coming up. Mets changing that narrative and Luis is playing a big part in that.
As a Mets fan he’s very recognizable, but it’s good to see him getting recognition, utility guys don’t get enough recognition, and he’s one of the best
There are so many underrated ball players in the major leagues and he is one of them very good glove very steady at the back also he respects the game and respects both players you can see it how he plays good report and you're right is a very good ball player you should be recognized good job keep up the good work

OOTP loves Guillorme. Currently in year 5 of his career and with a month left in the season he’s slashing .350/.475/.425 and leading the league in MVP voting and WAR. Might be the first position player MVP with a high OBP than Slugging.
My dude is electric in the infield. Definitely the most underrated defensive infielders in the game. Good job on getting his name out there.
LFGM!
We Mets fans absolutely love Guillorme! He does it all in the field. He can get gold gloves if he wants to.
So happy to see Guillorme getting some love. He’s been so good for the Mets this season.
Well...maybe that's a bit of a stretch. He is a solid starter though
YES, I love Guillorme! He’s my second favorite player on the team behind McNeil!
I’ve been so confused why this guy doesn’t get talked about at all…thank you for shedding the light
He’s truly a gold glove candidate
I keep coming back to watch this video. So sad that he isn't a Met anymore but I am glad he is still in the NL East. I hope they give him the playing time he deserves. My man!!
Yes, Platinum glove candidate
Thanks for making this much much much deserved video! Super cool, man.
Elite hand eye coordination. Love watching him start a double play with Lindor
I loved how he’s improved. He was a bad bat good glove and became good bat great glove
1 yes I’m a Mets fan
And you said he “lacks offense” but he hit .280 that’s GOOD
There was a play that you missed. On July 9 2022 Luis made an amazing 86 mph rally throw home to get the marlins runner out. I was at this game and you probably know this but Brandon Nimmo got a walk single on an error.
I was there at that game!! it was amazing!
As a long time NY METS fan, YESSSS, I know exactly who he is and how much value he has brought to the team under the radar! Nice video!
You showed Jesse Winker striking out just to bother me
Guillorme is an absolute legend! As a Mets fan for over 38 years, I can genuinely say he’s one of the best I’ve ever seen play. It makes me so happy to see him finally get noticed. 😊
OMG YESSSSS! Guillorme has been so much fun to watch this season I'm so glad he's getting this recognition
Mets fan here. He's become one of my favorite parts of the team this year. I made sure to point him out to my dad at a Mets game we went to back in June. I hope we see him back playing soon!
i was at the Mets Nats game you showed two of his highlights from! He is just so smooth in the field its hard not to be mesmerized.
Bro, everybody who isnt just a casual fan of baseball knows who he is. He plays in New York, the largest media market in the world, and he is on a first place team. You're a good youtuber @starkravingsports, you don't need to click bait a title for views. Now, with that being said it was a good video anyway.
Goated walk up song too
I've followed Luis since he was drafted by the Mets. Just ridiculously fun to watch play the game. People have always slept on his bat despite his ability to put bat on balls. TTO baseball was at the peak of it's popularity as he was coming up. Mets changing that narrative and Luis is playing a big part in that.
As a Mets fan he’s very recognizable, but it’s good to see him getting recognition, utility guys don’t get enough recognition, and he’s one of the best
love the video.. luis is my favorite met. the dude is a hidden gem.. cant wait for him to get back
I’m a mets fan and guilorme is my favorite player as well. Got a custom jersey of him cause they don’t even make his jerseys
There are so many underrated ball players in the major leagues and he is one of them very good glove very steady at the back also he respects the game and respects both players you can see it how he plays good report and you're right is a very good ball player you should be recognized good job keep up the good work
Luis is great and he’s been one of my favorite players since day one. I’m glad he’s finally getting the credit he deserves, he definitely deserves a gold glove and an (multiple) all star. Luis is great for the game and great to watch.
You are spot on!! luis is amazing and totally under rated! Every position they put him he excels.
