Truly sad. As a Yankees fan I LOVED Robbie Cano, especially since he was a new spark on that aging team. It’s upsetting how he fumbled all of that…and for what reason? He’d have gone down as the best 2nd baseman of his generation without juicing. Great vid man. Keep it up.
I think him not being able to take the Mariners to the playoffs, coupled with 3000 hits on the horizon, added a ton of pressure for him. He probably knew he was declining, but wanted to live up to his contract. I’m glad you liked the vid, thanks for supporting the channel!

Really solid video; I’m a lifelong Yankees fan and Cano has always been one of my personal favorite players since he came up. To be honest, I watched Cano for years in New York and the way he made certain difficult plays seem so nonchalant and easy was amazing to see and he’s a HOF player in my mind regardless of the failed PED tests. The man was a fantastic baseball player who -for a few years- was a Top 10 player in the game, in my opinion. Fantastic defensive player with a really solid arm and his swing became taylor made for the new Yankee Stadium. He was one of my favorite players to watch for years and I was really ticked off when the Yankees didn’t resign him; but I didn’t blame him at all for taking the extra money. Sadly, I knew going to Seattle and signing a 10 year contract there was going to end badly for him & his career (he should have just stayed with the Yankees but Arods contract situation made them gun shy-reasonably so-to sign another 30 year old player to such a long deal). Great player and a HOF player regardless of the fact that the last few years of his career have been very forgettable. Still wear my Robby Cano Yankees shirt with pride!!
the cano era for the mariners was the most significant throughout my childhood. But there were at least three or four different instances which lead me to believe robinson cano hated me. once i was at spring training with a friend and he signed an autograph for every kid but me, once he was throwing balls into the stands, looked right at me, then moved away, and again i was just next to someone who got his signature. of course, i know this has nothing to do with me, and yet i cant shake the feeling that this pro baseball player hated the 12 year old version of me.

First of all great vid. This vid has come up on my feed before, and as a dominican 🇩🇴 and a Robie fan, it pains me just to see it. I still remember seatin at a car dealership waiting for an oil change when I saw the news on my phone. My son (12 at the time and still wears #22) I just handed him the phone... I just couldn't even tell him that Robie texted +. It still hurts. He was my fav player after Pedro Martinez.
As a kid I was a 3rd baseman and I always tried to imitate Jeter's fielding and a combination of Arod and Cano's swing. I remember being always glued to ESPN watching them break down each swing so I could then try it at practice.
Great video man, Cano was one of my favorite players because of the swing until he got caught with PEDS and his value and reputation went down hill. Loved the old skool J Cole music montage! 💯
That's the great tragedy of all athletes. Being a top level player is part of Cano's identity, it's not just about pride or numbers or money. Losing that ability can be losing who you think you are.
Im a mariners fan who got into baseball because of the 2015 mariners when they were down 12-2 against the padres they won and cano became my favorite player and it hurt me when he got busted twice for PED
Hey great video! Loved watching him and his buttery swing so much. These other guys in the comments are putting it a little too harshly, while the talking might be fast it wasn't so bad you had to turn it off, though pacing as a whole was a bit fast. People can't expect perfection from someone who's only been doing this for a year now. If you see this, know that I loved the vid, and I'm excited to see your growth in the future 🥂
That November 4th game in 2009. That was my 21st birthday. I remember having a beer of my grandpa. We hugged and just smiled and happiness. Always remember that day. rip gpa.
Man, as a Mariners fan, his signing was a double edged sword. The 2016 Mariners deserved to reach the playoffs, they could mash but just fumbled games in critical times. The 5 years we had Cano, he was great and the fan base was expecting a slow decline in his remaining years. It ended worse for him and it was such a huge hit having to sacrifice Diaz to get out from under most of his remaining contract where if we didn't have him bleeding the cash and still had Diaz as he was and is, we could have got an absolute haul for him if he still needed to be traded. It really set our team back and I'm glad Jerry is using that experience now and not going crazy, knowing it's likely the back end of these monster contracts become a cancer.
@Sparky Shore He's a gift to baseball itself. When he came up, I hadn't seen a pitcher since maybe Chapman with such a dominant fastball where even Mike Trout was trying to catch up. Sometimes he just doesn't have the command, but when he's on, it's something else. Most mariners fans realize we probably would have had to trade him with or without Cano, if the Mets still wanted him then it probably would've been the biggest haul seen for a reliever.
I got to watch an April game in the House that Ruth Built in 2008. I got to watch the Core Four play, and I remember watching them along with Robbie and A Rod constantly. So much I don’t really remember who we actually played, I kept my eyes glued to those 6 whenever they were on the field.
robbie was my favorite player for a decent stretch, i even used his spalding glove throughout high school and my one year playing in college. sad to see how he went out, still one of the smoothest players to ever touch the field, bat or glove.
thats cool you had a player like Cano to look up to while you were in little league.... personally, i had Ken Griffey Jr to look up to. I was fortunate to have a front seat to his best seasons growing up in the Seattle area.

Watched Cano in Seattle, 100% agree he had a beautiful smooth swing and was equally as smooth at second base. Sad his image has been tarnished as he’s a tremendously talented player. I’m of the opinion PED’s are still rampant in all of the major sports, just some players are smarter than others in terms of not getting caught
You know you love playing baseball when your willing to ground out minor league games in el paso. And can we revisit this PEDs means no half of fame stuff? I disagree with that mentality. PEDs enhance your natural ability, and if everyone is using, the playing field is level. Even though it enhances there stats, they are executing there performance, they still have to practice their swing, there fielding, maintain there fitness etc. Im fine with letting them in with an asterisk noting their ped test history.
As a cubs fan, who is 30 years old and also fell in love with baseball around 2003, so just about 3-4 years before you, and stayed that way since, I thought Robbie was and still is the shit. One of the best 2nd basemen behind grace and chase and sanberg, and I learned about his decline more, unfortunately. Great video.
Great vid. Even as a Mets fan, you had to respect Robinson Cano in his heyday with the Yankees. Another sign of Cano’s fall from grace; when he signed with the Mets, they gave him #24, which had been out of circulation since Willie Mays retired in 1973. After he was released, the Mets announced they were retiring 24 for Mays. I do not think that is a coincidence.
Addendum: I looked it up. Rickey Henderson wore 24 when he was with the Mets in 1999-2000. Also Kelvin Torve, some random guy who played 30 games in 1990. Also, Joan Payson, owner of the Mets at the time, had always intended to retire 24 for Mays, but she died before he retired.
We were very happy to have him in Seattle..literally up until the suspension. Then it just seems like we were done with him and happy he got traded away, though less happy about Diaz being included (that kid was electric as a closer). At least I can finally say that as of this comment, Seattle finally made it back to the playoffs! Honestly never thought I'd say that, especially after being there on the final day of the 2014 season and seeing the A's clinch their spot via the scoreboard.
As an Astros fan, you Mariners deserve it. Congratulations! I guess it is a bit disheartening seeing Diaz become the best closer in the league with the Mets, but hey, the M’s are on an uphill track and I hope it pays off with a World Series win.
Im a Mets fan and I love Cano. Not for his time with the Mets but for his time with the Yanks. I know how odd that sounds but I only hate teams in the NL East. What he did for the city of New York should never be forgotten.
“Teams like the Rangers, Angels, and Athletics made the AL West arguably the toughest division in the league.” If someone told me today those teams would make the division hard I would think that would be a joke. (Although the Rangers are lookin’ good)
Division is getting really strong again now. Houston and Seattle will remain at the top with Texas not far behind. Angels may hover around .500. As for the A’s, they may be a lost cause.
Awesome vid I absolutely loved cano in his prime days with NY. You also helped me go down memory lane and rediscover blow up by cole that was fuckin nuts for me lol
I remember Blow Up from MLB 11 the Show, so I heard it a lot right when Cano was becoming a star. It fits narratively with that era of Cano’s career perfectly (even if it’s a bit on the nose). I’m glad I unlocked a memory of yours lol, thanks for dropping by the channel
i loved this video cano was by far my favorite player as a kid i remember him breaking into the league and was devestated when he went to seattle and i also didnt believe it when he first tested positive. he will always be my favorite player but sad to see how it ended
Im a mets fan and am thankful that i got to see cano’s swing from our side. It’s one of those swings like griffey thats just so pleasing to watch. How does a human being make the bat THAT level??
It was a cool moment when I got to see the Mets played the Marlins at what’s now known as loan depot park, after mid inning, tossing, he would be the last person with the baseball to throw in the stands, he looked in the crowd, and apparently I was the only person in the stands, who had the same skin tone as he did, and he actually threw the ball to me, that was pretty cool
20:50 that is Alexis's Diaz with the Greenville Reds. Which is kind of funny because Edwin Diaz comes out a second before and then you post a video of his brother giving up a home run to Jared kelenic.
as a yankee fan cano was like a light at the end of the tunnel, think mattingly during the awful 80s and early 90s, was a joy to watch, when he decided it was seattle it was like "hate to lose him but he got the bag." then watching him get suspended, not once but twice, going to the minors trying to recapture the fomrer glory it was almost sad, like watching a boxer who is punch drunk taking fight after fight looking for that one final chance at glory.

Cano was my favorite Yankee as a kid, and seeing where he's wound up today makes me so sad.
This was a really, really well done video.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
One of the best swings in the game. Loved Robbie Cano made me want to be a second baseman.
The whole time I was in little league I always thought what would cano do for every play
Amazing video man, just subscribed! Real shame what happened to his career smh
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
After finally being able to watch the whole thing without any interruptions (due to work), I got one thing to say:
My, how the mighty had fallen.
Nothing lasts forever
Great commentary, keep up the good work!
Glad you enjoyed!
FINALLY IVE BEEN WAITING ON A CANO VIDEO HE IS MY FAVORITE PLAYER💯💯💯
I've been such a big fan of him for so long that I needed to make one eventually
Keep making these videos, very entertaining man
Glad you enjoyed!
That's 2 Time World Series Champ and forever Giant Joaquín Arias to you. (Plus a nice play on the last out of a perfect game)
Lmao I knew some Giants fans would get me for this
This video was great man
Glad you enjoyed!
Congrats! I’m glad for all you M’s fans who have waited so long to see this day!
As an Astros fan, you Mariners deserve it. Congratulations! I guess it is a bit disheartening seeing Diaz become the best closer in the league with the Mets, but hey, the M’s are on an uphill track and I hope it pays off with a World Series win.
@@Gemnist98 aw thanks!
that edit on the Harlem river is sick!
Jesus I was LARGE 😂
😭😭 COVID season was a different time
FUZZY
Fuzzy is a known ATB enjoyer
I fell in love with baseball back in 81. I could talk about the game 24/7
Btw this is THE Robinson Cano video
That was the goal, I'm glad I succeeded in your opinion
Im a Mets fan and I love Cano. Not for his time with the Mets but for his time with the Yanks. I know how odd that sounds but I only hate teams in the NL East. What he did for the city of New York should never be forgotten.
Lol watching Robbie on the Braves feels so surreal
I'm watching that game rn, Cano's gotta have a big moment in the Braves comeback cuz of this vid
Love how you did this vid!!!!
Glad you enjoyed!
Robby Cano, most famously known for being Matthew Batten’s teammate in El Paso. What a career and video though.
Of course
You do good work kid. Instantly subscribed
Glad you enjoyed!
Bro as an El Paso native I clicked because of the jersey lol, great content man keep it up!
Glad you enjoyed
Awesome vid I absolutely loved cano in his prime days with NY. You also helped me go down memory lane and rediscover blow up by cole that was fuckin nuts for me lol
I remember Blow Up from MLB 11 the Show, so I heard it a lot right when Cano was becoming a star. It fits narratively with that era of Cano’s career perfectly (even if it’s a bit on the nose). I’m glad I unlocked a memory of yours lol, thanks for dropping by the channel
Music selection also perfect.
True story: he was named after Jackie Robinson's canoe.
i loved this video cano was by far my favorite player as a kid i remember him breaking into the league and was devestated when he went to seattle and i also didnt believe it when he first tested positive. he will always be my favorite player but sad to see how it ended
I always remember Stephen A smith blowing a gasket when they let him go and signed elsbury
I mean Stephen a probably blows a gasket when the intern puts the wrong cream in his coffee, but he was actually right for once here.
Anyone know the name of that song? 9:07
Im a mets fan and am thankful that i got to see cano’s swing from our side. It’s one of those swings like griffey thats just so pleasing to watch. How does a human being make the bat THAT level??
It really was special to watch
It was a cool moment when I got to see the Mets played the Marlins at what’s now known as loan depot park, after mid inning, tossing, he would be the last person with the baseball to throw in the stands, he looked in the crowd, and apparently I was the only person in the stands, who had the same skin tone as he did, and he actually threw the ball to me, that was pretty cool
Awesome video, thanks
Sucks to see a man have a fantastic carrer and nearly st the end of it get caught for using PEDs.. it's a shame 😔
You my friend are a great story teller (subbed)
SMH video too long
Nah, anything up to 45 minutes is acceptable
man! good job here bro! you forced my hand to subscribe.
Glad to have you!
Great video. Cano made every play look like a walk in the park. Always will be my favorite 2nd baseman. Go Yankees
Cano will always be one of my favorite players no matter what
Nice vid - I dig your style - props
20:50 that is Alexis's Diaz with the Greenville Reds. Which is kind of funny because Edwin Diaz comes out a second before and then you post a video of his brother giving up a home run to Jared kelenic.
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed
I don’t even really like baseball that much, but this video was so well made!
Glad you enjoyed! I recommend you watch some playoff baseball this month, some of those games get absolutely electric
as a yankee fan cano was like a light at the end of the tunnel, think mattingly during the awful 80s and early 90s, was a joy to watch, when he decided it was seattle it was like "hate to lose him but he got the bag." then watching him get suspended, not once but twice, going to the minors trying to recapture the fomrer glory it was almost sad, like watching a boxer who is punch drunk taking fight after fight looking for that one final chance at glory.
Bro you took me back to 7th grade with that j.cole banger thank you sir
