Imagine getting up to go the bathroom, get something to eat, come back, and see that the same person is still at bat lol
And if that batters from the opposing team then it's got to be your worst nightmare.
He was trying to get the at bat long enough for RUclips to monetize
What a mad lad
And RUclips has abused that privilege.
If you watched this from start to finish you’re definitely a true lover of the game, especially if you’re not a fan of either of these two teams.
American football was my first love and always will be my favorite sport. Basketball is second and baseball is third. I still love baseball. It takes a lot of skill and hand-eye coordination to play baseball. I always respected the sport and I have loved it more as I grew up. This at bat was such a great battle to watch. Gotta love it.
Amen.
Braves fan here but this was beautiful
to throw 18 strikes in 22 pitches you have to give Hicks a lot of credit
@Jack Strawb, for sure. im just saying everyone is giving Guillorme credit cause he faced easily one of the most intimidating relievers in the game for 22 pitches, but Hicks has just come off tommy john and hadnt pitched in a year, and his first appearance is 22 pitches and 18 being strikes
I mean there was at least one that I think was a little outside. but 18ish
I give him even more credit for not being an emotional pitcher about it & throwing at the guy or throwing a fit after. He gave everything to get that guy out
This at bat was long enough to fit three gambling commercials.
Lol I have no clue why a 14 yr old would be gambling.
ruclips.net/video/qO-zaE1ftEQ/видео.html
😂 lol
@Ryan Ehmsen I'm saying that kids are getting gambling ads. When they can't because you have to be 21 to gamble
...after starting 0-2. That's just legendary.
The Mets could win the World Series this year and this would still be one of the best moments of their season.
they are not winning a world series
the Mets aint winning the World Series
ruclips.net/video/qO-zaE1ftEQ/видео.html
The Dodgers win the World Series.
Mets will go far
It makes it even more impressive that he did it against a guy who throws 100+ mph
Players get trained for 100+. Even get scouted for that into colleges. I think by now it's actually harder for major leaguers to hit a fastball from like Hendricks, Rogers or Hill
@@Sniparator yes they train and practice it, but it's still INCREDIBLY difficult to hit. And having a 22 pitch plate appearance against it is absolutely wild
It’s amazing because Hicks is very young
This is something out of an mlb the show AB
In br and then they hit a hr
This would've been insane if there was a full crowd. I can't imagine how loud and insane it'd be with 30,000 people cheering on a pitcher and batter during a 20+ pitch at-bat.
Props to both of these guys, this was incredible
To all who find this boring. You don't know or never played the game. This is baseball at it's finest and an incredible at bat.
11 minutes lol what a at bat
Bruh, its impressive nonetheless, but with a guy throwing an object at you 100+ mph, I would forfeit a win
yeah guillorme is a badass like that
ruclips.net/video/qO-zaE1ftEQ/видео.html
Everyone throws 100. The new limit is 110
Jordan hicks is a very fast pitcher
Guillorme is the same guy who caught the bat with one hand a couple years ago in ST
I remember that
Guy's clearly working on a completely different level of hand-eye coordination
Legend
Best at bat of the spring
guillorme came regular season ready at a spring training game wow what a at bat.
I'd hate to be Jordan Hicks, I'd be crying after the 13th pitch
this is the longest at bat in history and it's between a second fiddle short stop with one career homer and a pitcher that hasnt taken the mound in two years
This is a comment worth reading
mike shildt was like: ArE yOu KiDdInG mE rIgHt NoW!!!
Wow...drawing a walk after 22 pitches, only two of which came on a 3-ball count. That's amazing!
Please don’t do this against my Cards in the regular season. Killing my boys arm 🤦🏾
But I love this! The battle
At bat of the year!!. So far
Goes 0-2, then fights through 20 pitches to take BB. Imagine heading to the bathroom to drop a deuce right at the start of this AB, coming back, and Guillorme is still in the box chopping away. God I love this game.
At a point, he should’ve just plunked him with like a 50 mph pitch and got it over with.
That’s the difference of a winner mentality.....
Still would've found a way to foul it off
Yo if this was mlb the show and I was the batter boiii my hands would have been drenched in sweat.
My hands were drenched in sweat just watching this at bat holding my phone lol
😂😂😂😂😂
Aint no guy smoother at fielding in the mlb then this guy. Its just so fun to watch him
That at bat may have single handedly earned him a roster spot
He got 2 strikes off the first 2 pitches and then he managed to somehow get 4 balls in the next 20 pitches. I can't tell if that's luck or just pure determination.
brave fan here loving this signing
My goodness gracious that’s a lot of ads of one video
There's nothing like watching this sorta thing live, wish I woulda had the opportunity to do so..
This is why I love baseball
Wow how did these mlb the show graphics get so good? And who updated the announcers voice?
best thing I have seen all year
hes been seeing the ball really well during ST
So glad to have an ad break for each pitch.
What an at-bat (this is coming from a Yankees fan)
No one cares who its coming from
Jordan Hicks has Incredible Potential. Consistency will be Huge for Him in 2022. Hopefully he Stays Healthy.
I’ll wait for Jomboys breakdown
It's the Mets. We might not get one because of that.
Already posted.
In the year of the pitch clock. The game still decides how it wants to be played.
Her: Come over
Hicks: Can’t I’m pitching
Her: Parents aren’t home
Hicks: I’M F*CKING TRYING GIVE ME A BREAK
Greatest AB in MLB History!
Brought back memories a day Bergman Tiger Stadium 10th inning hit one in the upper deck after 13 pitches the end the game Tigers win
That AB was so long that Jordan Hicks reached his pitch limit after one batter.
That’s what you call getting back in the count 😂
Like the chapman and the vladimir guerrero jr battle
Best at Bat of the SpringTraining so far
Master of wii baseball
This Dude Was At Bat An Entire Inning
PLATE. DISCIPLINE.
Longest in an actual game was Brandon Belt’s 21 pitch AB against the Angels in 2018
Hicks left after facing just 1 batter with pitch count done!
Oh and Guillorme was out after 1 pitch his next at bat!
This is the greatest at bat of all time
Going down 0-2 and working a walk after 20 pitches if an 0-2 is absolutely unbelievable 2 strike hitting
5:10 was smooth. How he get that low
Who's here after watching Trevor Plouffe's sequence about Hicks?
Who else is a Mets fan here?
Literally nobody. But this was epic from one of the most forgotten teams in all of sports.
@@seroskal9354 “literally nobody”
Literally incorrect.
Amazing
😘
How long was this at bat it as 3 ads long
Can't wait for the 23-pitch at-bat on my 23rd birthday next year
Taht man deserves a raise
Meadows at bat in the ALDS brought me here. He just had a 17 pitch at bat.
This is me when my little siblings pitch to me. Takes forever to get a good pitch. Ironically, the same thing happens when I pitch to them.
Instant legend. Honestly the whole thing is legendary. This was Hicks’ first batter in two years, it was almost equally epic on his part. He can’t be mad at all, he just battled his nuts off for 22 pitches and called it a good first day. Especially since he can be wild, that’s exciting to see on his first day if you’re a cardinals fan. Man that was the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time.
Dude is legit Spider-Man catches a flying bat into dugout, 22 pitch at-bat, whatever this is at 5:11
Not human
Cardinals are a whole different team now Martinez Sid king good flattery is doing good the whole rotation is decent right now
Thats crazy
Crazy
I've never seen anything like this !
I don’t know who that guy is but he should make the team based on that at bat alone
Brutal.
I been a fan of the Mets since I was like 10 years old I wish they would have kept buck sholwatler
22 pitches and also 11 minutes, 5 seconds from first pitch to last pitch.
Dominoes Pizza has a new slogan. Pizza delivered in 1 Mets at bat or less
Reminds me of Harpers college ab’s
Lol imagine being the pitcher in that situation
crazy dude
To be in an 0-2 count and see 20 more pitches? I've never seen at bat go this long.
There has never been an at bat this long
Everyone saying what an at bat and I’m just sitting here cringing bc it wasn’t even an at bad it was a plate appearance🤦🏼♂️😂
Good Eye Guillorme!
Plot twist : He is a cricketer.
He started down 0-2
reminds me of the sandlot
Guillorme looks like he chops wood for his offseason workouts
11 minute at bat... that has to be a record LOL
Wow!!!
Oh my das told me about this yesterday when he hit like 15 or 16 foul balls
22 AB breakdown?
Against Jordan Hicks. Damn
The odd thing is, this eleven-minute plate appearance wasn't even an at-bat in the first place. :D
so nobody is gonna talk about the catch at 8:18
He just reached up lol
No they weren’t trying to get the wave going 🤦🏻♂️
Definately epic...just think, this hitter was kinda of a career minor leaguer....I think he's 29 or 30 and has only came up parts of the last 3 seasons...great battle
Incredible weapon to close out games..yeah cant even close out a utility guy
Jordan Hicks after walk: ”Why are we still here, just to suffer”
Jordan Hicks, not Aaron. Aaron Hicks is the centerfielder for the Yankees.
@@foxboi327 thx
@@bloopandablast9257 anytime.
Mets against the rotation now you don’t get a easy task now every pitcher on the cardinals team is playing well
