According to the official FAQ, Forza Horizon 5 won't have a cross-save with Xbox/WinStore/Gamepass version either - support.forzamotorsport.net/hc/en-us/articles/4402249796243-Forza-Horizon-5-Announce-FAQ So you'll be able to play with your friends across all platforms but won't carry your progress between Steam and Xbox versions, just like in FH4. Honestly, didn't expect to see such bullshit again even in FH5, so think twice in which store you are going to get it.

@@misterdog7 afaik is not really worth it to play with a wheel. Its too simcady so many of the moves you would normally do on a wheel are not the fastest ways to do things

I am no fan of Microsoft and did NOT want to use the Microsoft store. But credit where credit is due, this game runs like super silk on my I7 4770k and GTX 1080 TI . I have not seen a game run as good as this one does. Point is , buy it off the Microsoft store. Can't believe I just said that 🙄
@@soulhunter002 I wish a had a definite answer for you my friend. Here is my suggestion, first I would go with Forza 5 from the Microsoft store . I myself will go this route only because FH4 worked extremely well and has earned my trust in the next one on the same platform. Secondly I myself am waiting on them to release the recommended system specs for Forza 5 . This way I can get a better idea if I need better pc gear or not. I don't want to be upgrading yet until the recommended specs come out. ☺

Steam version has big issue with all steering wheels... force feedback not working good, turning on wheel is like on pad, this version not support 900 degrees of turning. I just refunded steam version and get it on microsoft :/

Microsoft account is required to play this game. Just create a new account and you'll be able to tie your Steam version to it, nothing really complicated.

One thing that puts me off from buying it, is the unskippable ads some players have pointed out in the top user reviews, which were uploaded this month at the time of this comment. I don't know how bad they are, but this can be an issue for me, as i want to get this on PC before they discontinue it with the release of Horizon 5 and it's currently half price during the summer sale. I haven't seen any unskippable ads personally, and from what I can tell judging by user reviews and discussions on Steam forums, they are for DLCs and not some unrelated stuff. So yeah, looks like the solution for this ads issue is to buy an Ultimate edition. And I don't think that MS will instantly remove FH4 from sale as soon as FH5 will be released, they removed FH3 from Xbox store only in 2020, so around 2 years after FH4 release. No, buying the game on Steam won't give you MS store version. And unlike other Xbox games on Steam, this one has no cross-progression and a limited cross-play support. No idea if they'll ever going to fix that.
May I suggest you to try and install Xbox app? www.xbox.com/en-US/apps/xbox-app-for-windows-10 The game crashed only because of ReShade in my case, but I remember reading somewhere that Steam version might crash on startup because of lack of Xbox services.
It's good price, so if you can afford it, then it's totally worth it imo. But considering how fast the game went on sale, it might get even better discount in a few month on next Steam Summer Sale. So if you don't plan to play it right away, then waiting a little more won't hurt.

@@PCGI I can recommend AeroCool cases, they're hella cheap. I have AeroCool Zauron Saturn and my CPU has never gone over 70 degrees on 100 percent load(with stock fan). The airflow is great, you definitely should go for these cases if you're on budget.
If that's the price for Ultimate Edition, and you don't really care about Steam features, then currently it's the best deal. Steam version in it's current state is inferior to winstore release, devs promised to fix it but who knows how long it will take.
Regular edition might not be the best choice since this game has tons of DLCs and I'm not sure how often they are going on sale. As for Steam features, it's nothing really major - achievements, overlay, cloud saves and trading cards.
the only thing about windows store that annoys me and many others is lack of ability to backup your game files. God forbid you have to wipe windows and their move feature doesnt work. Steam has always been my go to for data integrity, got tired of downloading 104GB when files become corrupt or need to wipe windows.

Steam version is little bit stutter, crash often when in the opening. Like force close after loading in the opening. I bought it when summer sale

Yeah, stuttering is still an issue. G-Sync helps to deal with it in my case, but it's disappointing that they still haven't fixed that yet.
