- Want more Roadkill? Check out Roadkill Extra, the new show exclusively on Motor Trend OnDemand. Featuring a new video Monday through Friday, Roadkill Extra takes you behind the scenes, gives you deeper looks into the project cars from Roadkill and Roadkill Garage, shares some tech tips from hosts and delivers a question-and-answer session with Freiburger and Finnegan every Friday. Roadkill Extra is exclusively available on Motor Trend OnDemand.
Get a taste of Roadkill Extra right here on RUclips with the Dulcich’s Dodge Truck Fetish episode. In this episode, Roadkill Garage co-host Steve Dulcich may have the market cornered for ’70s Dodge pickups. The dude has more shortbeds than any one person should be allowed to own (for mental health reasons), and in this episode of Roadkill Extra Powered by Dodge, David Freiburger shows ’em all.
We’ve provided this free episode on RUclips to give you a taste of Roadkill Extra so you can decide if you'd like to subscribe for more episodes.

I don't care if people get episodes a month or even several months early. I could close my eyes on a lot of things. But locking content like this behind a stupid pay wall is just ridiculous
This. So much this.
I was actually considering paying for the subscription a minute ago, but then I thought about it..... How often do I go to motortrend.com or would I even remember too.??? Nope, so it would be all for naught.
With how often they upload, they don't make much money. Then you have to think about how much they spend per episode on the cars, and then pay the entire crew along with flights and whatever extras. So that small amount of non guaranteed money doesn't go far. The paywall makes it affordable to have the additional content and actually have the budget to pay someone to edit it.
true but if you upload more videos you get a bigger audience and more views.
Marcus Willson And that's the issue. This is not their full time job. This is a publicity campaign for their company. So, they can't just upload more and gain the additional viewership and rake in the sponsor money like Top Gear can.
lol at all the whiners in here. ITS F*CKING 5 dollars a month! Either you get it or you dont stop whining jeez..
And seriusly do you think a couple of hundred thousand views on youtube can pay off an entire film crew? haha
they make over 100k a month just in google ad revenue.
+Cashownsyourass and you know this how?
thats useful weed money bro
And Roadkill and the other shows are still free just exclusive content on MTOD
Social blade could be it...even though it's inaccurate, they do still make A LOT of money.
But you are "Powered by Dodge", so, why the hell do you need more money?!
Just because they have one sponsor doesn't mean they have an unlimited budget...
And supported by MT.
because MT is a company and the purpose of a company is to make more money, duh!
you're comments so fucking retarded, its scary how many likes it got.
+espro they need more money because they have mouths to feed
I'm confused... Why isn't he in flip flops
Because that's Freiburgers stuntdouble, he films so much that they made a clone of him in a lab so he can film at two locations at once. But to make sure they know which one is the clone, only the real Freiburger wear flipflops.
+chikitabowow duh, I don't know why I didn't think of this
Don't worry about it, not a lot of people know that little tidbit. Especially not the staff at the lab, those poor bastards got ripped to shreds when they tried to merge DNA from a Grizzly and tickle-me-Elmo.
And not even "BAAAM!" Lame.
And you cant run down the track in them.
Keep Roadkill Free.
it is free, and it'll stay like this
I've watched everyone, and I would surely miss it if it went pay only.
BTW, bring back the clip in the intro where you give a double thumbs up with a wild smile in the passenger seat during a burnout, I loved that.
This is a side show, similar to Roadkill Garage. So there is still Roadkill and it will be on both RUclips and MTOD, but this Roadkill Extra, which is the behind the scenes, will be only on MTOD and not RUclips.
David you and Finnigan hooked me on MT with the first RoadKill. You guys are great together and I love watching the shows. In my humble opinion RoadKill is number ONE and Dirt Every Day is number 2. One more thing I really wish you were sponsored by FORD instead of dodge.
This isn't Roadkill
I love the Ramcharger. I had one as my first vehicle. I bought it when I was 16, newer model, 1989, but I loved it because I bought it myself.
More Content does not equal to More QUALITY Content. It's often the opposite.
Very very true
but more is better right?
ryan reed Not always. Think of trying to draw 10 paintings in 5 minutes and trying to paint one in the same amount of time. More likely than not the one painting will come out better.
Except this isn't them shooting more content on top of what they already do, it's basically them showing all the fucking off and stuff that happens between the hardcuts in the shows.
Exactly. All the people defending this service and how it's worth it, meanwhile we get an episode that was supposed to be paid and it's literally just a junkyard walkaround.
Look I like motor trend on demand but you advertise way to much
You can't really over advertise your content, it may be a bit annoying hearing them talk about it for 10 seconds every so often, but any publicity is good publicity so they probably don't mind the senseless hate. It will all be posted for free on YT anyway, MTOD just sees it a month earlier, and get's extras.
What else are they supposed to do? Its their job.
+Gwazymodo Well they are sure as fuck over advertising
Exactly. Just let people progress naturally.
I don't have MTOD. So... You pay for it _and_ there are ads?
I have motor trend on demand it's an awesome service keep it coming.
They dont have to post teaser though
so how much did they pay you to say that
Nothing. In fact,I paid them. And I'm not bitching about it.
+Bryan “Johkah” Estep the teasers are actually really handy because when I see a teaser on RUclips that means it's up on Mtod and I watch it there
Same here
The vertical park lamps are 77-78, removable top Ramchargers were 74-80. I was almost as bad as Dulchich for while.
72-93 was the D/W body.
77 park lamps are clear 78 are amber
Yeah, i pay for it because of Dulcich's 70's dodge collection alone. Plus hes an engine wizard. Ive owned a 74' , 77,' 78' .My favorite was my 77' , a 318, 3 speed on the column, that was the fastest truck ever, up until ? Because first was so tall, it would lay rubber for ever. 90mph in 2nd.
I do currently own a 73 w200, 76 w100 power wagon adventurer sport and a 78 D100 three on the tree which is what you referred as 3 speed on the column. 360 and 318x2 engines.
They got a good point, if they stay on RUclips and RUclips only, there won't be much money to circulate through Motor Trend, and they won't be able to buy the parts needed to make the show running, they won't be able to get better camera equipment and software to make the episodes, plus, they wouldn't be able to pay the guys on the show for what they do and therefore, they would be struggling to support their family. So idk, maybe they could have done it a better way and not go to a site where you have to pay to subscribe, but you might also have to keep in mind that they need some support in some way to keep going.
They get like, all their parts for free. This and the ad revenue just pays people.
99% of people watching this have adblock and the ad revenue does not pay the people who make the videos. The ad revenue basically just pays for building bills and barely even helps. The real paychecks come from MT themselves.
Nah, there's not that many people who use adblock in the grand scheme of things. They used some of their own money and Motortrend's filming equipment to start, said they wouldn't sell out, got sponsored by Dodge (and lots of other manufacturers) for parts (both garage tools and automotive) and continue to push more monetized shit onto their fanbase. Not to mention they're journalists as well, so they get that money and more money from doing Roadkill. They're not hurting for money one bit, they haven't really made better quality things or bought more expensive anything, they don't NEED more money to continue Roadkill, they want more money because a bunch of suckers have more money than brains and will blindly do it.
I also don't get why a physical magazine subscription, which requires paper, printing, shipping, etc. runs $20 but an online subscription where everything is digital costs 3x as much. There would be A WHOLE LOT less bitching if MToD was $20 a year, and there'd be over 3x more people buying it at $20 than there is now at $60.
***** Like printing presses, all that ink, paper, the machines to run them just grow on trees, right?
***** You're still forgetting the whole assembly line of printing machines, all the maintenance and upkeep, shipping (should you have to ship it), etc. Servers can be a lot smaller and way more contained, optimized, and less maintenance if managed right.
Even if they were $2 per magazine and the majority of subscriptions are $20 per year, they're losing out on $4 before shipping.
Fuck motor trend on demand I miss the old motor trend
You guys really aren't willing to pay $5 a month to support people you enjoy watching?
Not a lot of people make enough money to pay that 5 bucks. I bring home 200 at the most from my part time job and that goes into food and bills.
crash flash I can understand that. You still get roadkill for though; it's not like you're losing content. You just have the option for more.
what about countries banned from MTOD ? what should i do ?
AbuAbdullah14 That would suck! If you had the option to get it, would you?
+AbuAbdullah14 use a VPN site to confuse their site about your location
The hell with MTOD!! The only things they do that I like are Roadkill and Dirt Everyday. And now they are screwing that up with this constantly flogging their bullshit site!
exagerating...
Then stop watching lmao nobody is forcing the content down your throat
it's 6 dollars a month u cheap fuck they have to pay people to make the videos
Jordan Weimer
Go fuck yourself. Im allowed my opinion, same as you.
+Jordan Weimer I'm so sick of the entitled ans useless giving us a bad name...
remember fhat "millennial tries cooking dinner" video??
Yeah, this is getting tiring....
sorry but ill only ever watch mt on youtube. never been into the whole pay per channel gig.
Right like just post them
Alex Perry nah, i work for a living peasant
+BrickSquad1017613 because being nickel and dimed is a better way of spending money :D
Sergeant Speed i dont mind if its something i like and respect :P
And a British Leyland Triumph TR7 I think.
yes it is.
As someone in their teens trying to restore one, they had so many problems I'm amazed they ran in the first place.
What motor should go in that TR7?
TR-7 Body was designed for the Rover Aluminium V8 (derived from a '60s Buick 215 Aluminium V8), and was sold with that engine as the TR-8. Dropping in a V8 from the pre-Ford Range Rover would be "in keeping with the heritage", though the engine subframe might be different (get one from Rimmers?). Perhaps a Toyota 1UZ and w58 gearbox? Or just wedge (haha) in a LS.
TR7 with factory alloys and the late, double bulge bonnet! So it might even be a factory TR8. Definitely worth its own episode.
This is not the best 'sales episode', probably the least interesting/entertaining ep you have done.
This is the most popular one? Wow! That's the best kind of anti-ad you'll ever make for the sub service.
Agreed
Yeah not exactly an interesting vid
Those are very quick videos, it can be any topic. Stories about some cars sitting on Dulcich's farm, tips on porting cylinder heads and so.
Well if youre gay for Freiburger and Finnegan you enjoy it...like myself.
"Because I don't have a race budget without you."
im not pay to watch. lost respect
the production of those videos cost alot of money and just youtube and sponsors prob wont cover it anymore or am i wrong
+driftismagic no you prob right but still lost respect
forcing it down peoples throats is not the way to go
+summut badass thats what im talking about. thanks =}
your respect doesnt matter
Dodge D100's are brilliant. The body will rot off the frame, but the 318, or 360 with 727 combo will run forever and on used motor oil at that. Just carry a spare ECU and ballast resistor and some fuses in the glove box, GTG mate.
holy shit it isnt an ad for once
its actually a shitty episode length ad instead
+JewsDidSeptemberThe11th did you just reply to yourself?
Yes. People "reply" to themselves when they have additional information.
I think you mean "edit" :D
NegativeNumbers427
So these are the same people that can't understand editing
Roadkill is one of the most likeable car shows due to its highly informative content and the upbeat personality of the host. Dealing with real situations that develop with old cars in a self sufficient, and improvised way, and from an extremely expert knowledge base, makes it encouraging and enthusiasm building for those of us who prefer to resuscitate old cars rather than tolerating the disgusting plastic take it or leave it, insultingly irreparable and modification resistant nature of today's disposable cars. They are nothing but slave mobiles, designed to enslave their first two owners and be useless to all subsequent. The computers are probably programmed to cause multiple and accelerating malfunctions after the warranty has expired. Who could prove they're not?
"that makes this one swaank"
I also love the look of the 70s/80s Dodge trucks.
i love this show alot but why do we have to pay i know that it costs money for episodes but really?
So that people can make a living? Do u want the. To live like nuns and eat nothing ? All u fuckers using add block and RUclips being greedy means they don't generate anywhere near enough bank
+Justin McMullen There are others that will produce without on demand. Who ever said RUclips was a jobs program and for corporate cunts??
Hot rod magazine is half the thickness it used to be and its all ads, ! by the time i rip out all the little cards i have no magazine left, anybody on you tube has Ad Blocker so they have had to result to charging, ive noticed other people doing that too
+Justin McMullen do you realize that big channels make millions annually when you take merchandise, sponsorship, and ads into consideration? which pretty much makes a paid service pointless. at this point they are just being greedy.
+David Serrano hahahahah Millions hahaha fuck mate do some research before running your mouth
Just bought MTOD and love it. Thanks for giving us gearheads something to watch.
Throw more dislike than likes because of MTOD
Good luck with MTOD, Hope you guys make enough revenue to keep some free content flowing but from the way things look to be going I feel everything will be locked behind a paywall in a year or 2. . .
I was going to give motor trend on demand a go but EVERY SINGLE REVIEW was complaining about the app not working! put me off pretty strongly aye
Use a computer? Or the actual site?
+idh0530 I spent 12hrs most days sitting around in a car on the worksite, so lots of time on my phone. A laptop wouldn't really work in my situation so I'm stuck with the phone
You can use the website. It'll work fine on a mobile device.
But I understand your situation. The MTOD app is awful.
+idh0530 oh okay, thanks! I'll give that a go, and yeah the reviews were so bad I didn't want to waste the data downloading it!
+Blathilzar I have learned not to judge a book by what others say or rate it. We all have our own internet issues and opinions. The app works great for myself but had I not tried it judged by the reviews I would be the one on the losing end. Take Care
whats all the hate for? they gave you a free episode of paid content and are not forcing you to buy it at all.
+Scott Mcpherson You still get free roadkill episodes on RUclips...plus that money is for accessing much more than people working on their cars. Sign up and actually try it.
What is it that Dulcich is growing in the background, grapes? You guys in the west are lucky, if we let cars/trucks sit around like that here in Ontario Canada they rot into the ground.
The Dulcich family are quite the grape producers in that area I am to understand. David I would like to see your car collection too. I had 27 cars/trucks by the time I was 16. Not too many now just 9.
+Dave Brittain holy shit how?
+randy durga Probably counting parts cars and shitty beaters.
***** still pretty impressive lol it would have been great to have some shitty beaters and a shit ton of parts to play around with at 16
randy durga Definitely true. I'm 19 and I just bought a new(ish) car, but I almost preferred my beaters.
hay guys I have a 74 Plymouth trail duster sport I need parts. live in NC .diver side door and removable top?
77-79 dodge trucks had the vertical turn signals. 72 to 76 had them underneath the headlights.
Actually 1979 had the 4 headlight setup with the turn signals under the grill. I think 1980 may have been the same.
@David_Freiburger If you're commenting here you're probably aware of the shitshow thats happening with the RUclips channel. Please tell those in charge to do something about it, there are better ways to increase revenue, and keep your fans happy. You're losing alot of people, fast.
+Frank P you're correct
What about the Army green 4X4 parked behind Dulcich's bronze Dodge pickup with the 318???
That thing looks TOUGH!!!
Old jeep pickup
Do you want my money? One word: Paypal.
This is the *most* popular episode of Roadkill Extra? Really???
The whole time watching I tried to imagine how shitty the others have to be and how I am not missing out. In fact it would be a waste of both time and money.
These are just daily filler videos. They're nothing special, but worth the 16 cents they equate to out of the $5 monthly charge. On another note; this is actually one of the worst Roadkill Extra videos IMO. The best ones are the indepth looks at some of the Roadkill and background cars that you see in all the Roadkill videos.
Things like the Orange Duster, Steve's Charger, and a rare Vietnam-era military Jeep panel truck that David has.
Just saying that for the price of a coffee; it's better than anything on cable these days - and alot better than a lot of stuff on RUclips.
But, but... my 16cents a day is going to save a starving child in Africa....oh the insanity....why would they make me choose...lol....
What happenend with roadkill going on a trip and fixing broken parts
Geez guys, tone down the MTOD pitches! Even in my Motor Trend magazine all you guys do is advertise it about how great it is and what you can watch and blah blah blah. You're pissing off loyal magazine subscribers and youtube fans with pushing your new service far too much. Know when to stop!
My mechanic friend, Dave, has about a dozen Dodge pickups in his junkyard, mostly from the '80s, plus he has an awesome '89 Dodge 1-ton 4WD wrecker with a 5.9-liter Cummins diesel and a manual transmission. He has an '84 Ramcharger (318, A727) that he put a regular pickup cab on and a hydraulic dump bed that he built. He liked the short wheel base of it, which is even shorter than a 6'-bed pickup. He used it as a junkyard truck, plow truck, and for general transportation for 24 years, until the frame had broken so many times that it couldn't really be fixed anymore.
I like the looks of the '70s ones better than the '80s ones, especially the hood. Dave doesn't like the '70s hoods because those depressed sections hold water. I don't care about that (my '69 Charger hood holds water too), because they look awesome, while the '80s hoods look generic.
Spends 1:10 explaining how this is free and "behind the scenes" Look I like Freiburger and Finnegan but the producers are suckin...
"And, most importantly... it's a stepside" said Dave and I at the same time. Stepsides rule.
Meh. As much as I love roadkill, roadkill got me to sub to this channel, these minor behind the scenes just aren't worth paying for. Not only that, but motortrend has now put select episodes of all their series on Netflix, another pay-to-see video site. How far are you guys trying to go to milk every single cent from people? Its getting ridiculous.
I am 12 I can't pay 4 motortrend on demand yet :(
i am in germany i cannot even pick valid payment option
It's ok I didn't have the money when I was 12 either even though I worked 2 part time jobs to help my parents out. Adults understand this and it's all good. Take care
i am in saudi
Exactly. They are losing their young audience. I was watching roadkill back in middle school and now I have my own car. Sad to see them selling out.
:(
Wow, the comments seem a little toxic today. I totally understand trying to make money out of this and if you live in the US, MTOD is nearly worth paying for, but for everyone else outside the US you get very little for the money, especially when you compare what you get from MTOD to something like Netflix, which isn't that much more money. Please, bring the price down, especially for non US subscribers and maybe more people would join.
Thanks MT, Dodge, Frieberger, Finnegan, Dulcich, and the guys from Dirt Every Day and Hot Rod for the entertaining free content.
Roadkill. Thought it was always like lets keep it cheap. I know its hard to live with no money in the us but mt, youtube, dodge and other autoparts sponsors pay you. Why should even the fans do so? How can you sleep with it? From roadkill dudes to promo agents. Gonna vomit, personally
that tan dodge stepside would make a good muscle truck. I want it !
I had a 76 ram charger with the removable top, 4wd locking transfer case, and 360 4 barrel, 727 trans, and a 4 inch suspension lift with 35 inch baja TA tires. It was awesome, and i miss it, but not enough to pay for gas.
I could hang around Freiburger all day and just laugh my guts out. this guy is way cool
Looks like my yard. Dulcich your welcome to come down an check out my d100's!
Sooo... will the episode 54 be on youtube ?
hey cutie
David Freiburger thank you
+David Freiburger The reason the 3rd and 4th gear positions were swapped on the 833 OD and the A883 OD is that direct drive is achieved by locking the input and output shafts together and allowing the counter shaft to free wheel . On the standard drive models direct drive is 4th gear on overdrive models direct drive is 3rd gear . To maintain the same shift linkage pattern the whole transmission would need to be redesigned .
+David Freiburger subscribed! Can I get a Roadkill sticker to put on my Package car?✌
whats great about the internet is that things like this can survive on costumer good will. just take a look at how many channels are successfully ran ad free and funded only by a patreon account.
I need suspension for my 81 ram and can't find control arms
wish I could spend a day picking Dulcich's mind and yard
ANYTHING Roadkill is better than the best network stuff.
Shame you can only subscribe to MTOD using a creditcard. PayPal would be nice...
Freiburger said paypal is coming.
Fuck yes, they need paypal.
you can as of now, anyway...i just did
Can't afford MotorTrend Channel ........ Summit Racing has all my money !
"Up here there's some even better stuff . . ."
Yet he toadally ignores the sweet old IH tractors scattered around. Typical city boy.
An animation of a car is being taken out. It's from Japan, but please see.
where is the REAL ROADKILL?????
David Freiburger oh, thanks for the info
David this is your old buddy George U remember the kid you said get off U? because you were doing it wrong.... over Tom Nelsons .F Bomb..That Kid Is A doctor Now.. & He just finished TIG building a hot side turbo Sys ...... Well we'll see you on a hot road tour ...someday you have a good Day There... You know the crew from horse power works in Virginia... Came Give Tom A hand With that octane on-demand F Bomb Car... Sure wish you got him a release so you could've published Him... but at least you showed the picture so thank you for that..... It's a great hobby when we all share.....Your, FIX IT
You know you're getting old when you can only come once a month
I'm a happy subscriber not only to motortrend in RUclips but on motor trend on demand
WHAAAAAT? A real video with actual CONTENT? Didn't think I could still witness that kind of miracle on the "motor spam without demand" channel oO
I think he owns every step side in California I need those parts man
Sad thing is the roadkill guys said they'd never sell out. Look at them now 😭
you're bitching because they made a paid service that supports the budget for these shows. if mtod hadn't been made then neither would the shows that are exclusive. also this is just behind the scenes which just adds to the perks of signing up. so in conclusion, go fuck yourself
If the content of the episodes covered more than 2-3 things with like 15+ collective minutes of voice over of random clips and time lapses in the 40 minute window, sure, I'd pay.
They still give you the show for free you pleb.
But when did I say I wasn't going to watch them?
Wait, you mean those guys who work for a magazine never said they'd sell out their already sponsored show to up the budget to produce quality content for free? Bizarre.
A ram charger fixed up for a 2wd street rod would be bad ass, especially the hard top version. I've only seen these done up with the 4wd bro dozer look. I always think of Lone Wolf McQuade's :D Cool to see those mopars, I always thought a short wide about those years would be awesome. Set a decent rake on it with a rebuild strong 340 & some drag lite's!
Let me guess the next episode will be on roadkill on demand
Did you not watch the video? It was basically an advertisement for the extra content you get ON mtod. So yes, the next fucking episode won't be on RUclips.
But I don't everyone's big gripe. We still all get road kill, free of fucking charger.
+MountKeverest they are pushing everything to motor trend on demand everything on motor trend's RUclips is becoming "teaser's" and the full episodes are only on motor trend on demand only a matter of time until roadkill ends up there permanently
blakestilltippin well lets hope you are wrong my friend
blakestilltippin you called that one... But for $5 a month you get a shitload of content! Worth it in my book!
Screw motortrend on demand, just wanting money
Should have done a Patreon page. That way its out of good faith and content still comes and theres no divide
this is queit boring why would I pay for this?
Dammit, now I want one of those Ramchargers...
My buddy had one, and I had a 87 K5 Blazer.
The Blazer was much nicer.
YOUR Blazer might have been nicer than HIS Ramcharger but in general, Blazers are death traps compared to Ramchargers.
That fucker is Beefy ! Cummins diesel ??
+Ken Howell I've owned 2 Ramchargers. Awesome Mud toys,Dailys,Sunday cruisers. Anything you want. No the Ramchargers aren't Cummins. They are gas powered. Usually 318,360,440s. Usually an automatic but you'll find an occasional 4 speed here and there.
Jim Garrison
Rams are under powered shit boxes ..
At least GMC & Chevy had 350s strong frames and bodies.
Inside a Ram is like being in a ...car.. The K5 is like a living-room.
I don't have to argue, as everyone builds K5's, rams are in land fills.
OK. so lemme get this straight. no flip-flops, no Finnegan, and the whole "recommended videos" sidebar is all "teasers"
I seem to remember a certain open toe shoes wearing car enthusiast saying that roadkill was for the fans, and they'd never let "big money" or "big TV" ruin this show..
stop calling it "roadkill"
cause it ain't the same show.
I already unsubbed.. guess it's time to hit that "not interested" button when I see that horrible "MT" logo.
R.I.P. ROADKILL.
Finnegan moved to Georgia like 6 months ago. Of course he can't be in these "Extra" videos.
sorry Freiburger but i would never pay to see people build crappy cars. But for Free- Roadkill is pretty cool. But again - pls STOP trying to convince us to pay for all that extra stuff - Thanks. Sincerely Me
I’m a dodge fan and I love the Lil Red Express trucks. There’s one in my hometown but he wants a million bucks for it
guy down the street from my place has one in mint condition
Did I miss Finnegan being let go? Haven't seen him in the last few videos I've watched.
+David Freiburger awesome, thank you sir. Really love the show and shenanigans you two get into.
remember he moved out to Georgia
Finnegan has been in every Roadkill that has been produced. Finnegan is not in Roadkill Garage and this episode of Roadkill Extra was done while they were shooting Roadkill Garage.
Hes only on roadkill the free show this is roadkill garage where they make you pay for a lesser quality show.
+Jacob Andrew ha.. Have you not seen the rest of their content? The amount of automotive awesomeness by itself is worth more than the $5/month.
These guys are without doubt the best thing on youtube
I won't subscribe to motor trend on demand. You all make money on RUclips alone. I get that you need more to support bills and salaries but really? Maybe 10$ a month would be reasonable. I did the 30 day trial and I was disappointed.
Well, since it's 5$ a month, it's more then reasonable!
You get $7 per 10000 views (or so I've been told). So 1 million views (which is quite high) only gives $700. This isn't enough to pay everyone's salary, let alone make a profit.
Worse, RUclips also disallows some content getting any pay, and their actual payout apparently varies:
www.digitalmusicnews.com/2015/01/28/songs-got-151781-plays-youtube-received-10/
There is a reason there are ads in these videos. Sponsorship is needed to cover costs.
2k per million views
love these old dodge trucks
It's to bad MT is turning into another money hungry organization. Seems that in the future Everything will be on MTOD and you'll have to pay for Everything. That's the day I will be saying bye bye.
Multi-million dollar company is trying new ways to make money? No way!
***** By making us wait longer for videos and then offering a way to see them faster by charging us? Great way!
Military Chevy They're not even making you wait any longer. The videos still come out on YT once a month. Nothing has changed, except that you have the option to pay for early access.
***** Road kill used to come out every 3 weeks...now it's a month+.
***** Sounds like what the government tries to say. lol
I'm not paying you to watch you run out of gas...
why don't you rename it the Dulcich's Mopar Winery/Museum and sell tickets!
I love my 70s Dodge trucks too. Miss my 76 D200. Had a 400/727/D60 combo. Was a riot at times.
is this the first roadkill with NO startup ?
Might as well call it Mopar Trend.
they looked over the Jeep wagoneer!
Wheres the money coming from
I am about done with this channel.
Everyone gets hurt when money is involved, but when you think about it,what is that $5 really? A pack of cigarettes, some scratch offs, a couple of honey buns. It's nothing that should break the bank, everyone wants things for free,I get that, but you gotta see that just like you and i they have to make money too. I work at a Walmart DC, which has enough criticism already, but I'm young and I try to see the good in everything, but I don't let it blind me. Paying for something is your choice,as it should and always will be.
Not even a whole pack of smokes, more like a third of a pack.
It's all of $5?! Is that yearly, quarterly, or monthly? I honestly don't know! Even if it were monthly, that's less that 3 32oz Frozen Cokes from 7-11 (sorry, not a smoker or a drinker), or 2-3 gallons of fuel depending on where you're at and what you prefer to burn (so it's about 2.5gal or so of E85 for my Chrysler 200 and maybe 2gal or so of regular for my XJ). Unless you're flat broke or leveraged out the rear, it's not bad at all.
Roadkill & Head 2 Head are now on Netflix in Australia, it is only the first season of course but I'm guessing bc you can't buy a subscription out side of the U.S to watch MotorTrend on demand this is the reason why they're on Netflix.
They're in Canada as well
'67 Dart GT convertible next to the Ramcharger just dry rotting to death... :(
I want that ramcharger
Anyone else notice the two British Triumph TR7's??
There were two?
Just spotted now. Why on earth would he have those?! They're awful things!!
That 3rd gear overdrive thing use to be pretty common in the big rig world. Some were conversions as well which were fairly easy to do. The 15 speeds for example came from factory in direct and overdrive versions where the 4th and 5th gears of the main box would be reversed and you had to do a U shift to go from 3rd to 4th then straight up to 5th. They made that gear pattern by simply swapping 4th with an overdrive gear and leaving the 1:1 alone where it was. Most overdrive versions of many transmissions were made that way.
This will be the last time I'll watch Roadkill until they pay me to watch it!!
I call BULLSHIT! Freiberger says "I had a whole dodge ramcharger that color" I DON'T BELIEVE YOU'VE EVER HAD A CAR THAT WAS ALL ONE COLOR! ahhhhhh ha ha ha ha ha! Love these guys!
I think we need to see a 392 dodge muscle truck (:
The whole appeal of Roadkill to the grass roots no budget motor head masses is lost with the commercialization of MOTD. If this is the BEST episode of Roadkill Extra then the crew have made yet another mistake for the bulk of their fans. Really - all this knowledge of 1970's trucks may be fascinating Stateside... but who else cares? This is just automotive verbal diahorrea when what the bulk of Roadkill fans want is to SEE (not hear), are crazy no money car adventures. I'm going back to those crazy antics on Mastermilo instead of this rubbish.
At this point I'm only subscribed to see the angry comments😂 this channel is a complete shell of what it used to be
8:38 That truck was on episode 40 when you put the General Mayhem motor into the Crop Duster, you used it to haul the drivetrain.
I've said it once when I canceled my trial version, I'll say it again. Pay Per View. IDGAF if you want to withhold content to try and support the shows, I know this stuff is damned expensive to put together and build. Monthly expenses are the easiest to cut. Momentary indulgences are the easiest to buy. Not sure why you guys are harping the sub pattern so hard, you could probably make a killing letting people choose what they wanted to pay for to get early access.
Case in point: I only watch Roadkill, Hotrod Garage and when I had my MTOD trial, Roadkill Garage. I said to myself; "Why would people ask me to pay for content that only comes out (by that consumption) an average of once every week and a half to two weeks? I'd even allow myself to get caught saying "Hey the new roadkill is out, I'm bored, I've got 5 bucks hell I'll watch it now." But what I've got now is saying for 3 weeks "that's gonna charge me 5 whether or not the new roadkill is out, I'm bailing."
