They should make the pads as the stream deck that they are little screens in that way we can creat tags or images to identify the sound or effects that we created.

Is the device able to accept video signal from one of the usb inputs instead of hdmi?
I want to use this for streaming sports. If I have a shotgun attached to the camera would that audio come across via the HDMI connection?
can i run my dac through this device using usb. I have a dac/amp combo unit and I am trying to figure out how to use them together
if you were to use BOTH head phone plugs 3.5mm and the 1/4 will both show up on rode connect/unify??? for routing/volume adjustment purposes. when you showed the app i only 1 but im assuming you only were using 1 (headset) for example i would use the 1/4 inch for my headset and use the other headset 3.5mm as a trrs line out but want to make sure i can control both within the connect/unify app.
I have not found one review that discusses the ability (or inability) to use this device for streaming and/or recording while simultaneously speaking & capturing audio inside a Twitter Space, Clubhouse chat or Amp show.
is this possible with the StreamerX? would using the 2nd USB-C port be able to both send AND receive audio to a secondary device?

I'm interesting in getting one myself. Do you know if the Streamer X audio input receives a stereo input? Like, if I record from a stereo mic (let's say for example an asmr mic) and patch it in to the streamer X, will the left and right channels show up as individual levers on the same audio track, or will the streamer x auto mix the stereo L and R to be a mono master on both L and R? I've asked this before and to other youtube videos, but basically does the Streamer X capture 2 individual L and R channel audio if just plugged in the the XLR port?
I have a technical question, if the Streamer X can receive audio from the HDMI port, and technically I can connect two microphones to my camera, will the Streamer X receive both?
Yes, if you have the ability to connect two microphones to your camera and your camera has the ability to pass that audio out over HDMI then the Streamer X will receive both.
The control of the level of those mics will be linked together (ie streamer X can not change one independently of the other).
Also note that the mic level of the audio level of the HDMI input is controlled via the Rode Unify app, rather than by the mic control on the device, which is only for either the XLR mic, Headset mic, or wireless mic inputs.

I have an issue with the smart pads, for which I cant find a solution:
When I press the smart pads, nothing happens (e.g. no sirene or sound is playing).
I started a Zoom Meeting, choose the Streamer X as the Audio input device, but when I press the buttons, nothing happens.
Any thought on this? :)
I’m torn between this and the duo. I like the duo because of the sliders on the device. I am coming from a goxlr mini but the streamer x with unify seems like it would for me. I use NDI for most of my gaming streams, so I don’t really need a capture card but like the idea of saving $100 on the streamer x. I feel like I mess with the sliders on the goxlr mini only when I have adjusted the sounds when someone in discord is loud or to turn it all the day down. I wonder if setting it up and forgetting it would work good in the steamer x.
Another great video Alex. I think you are using the same in-ear monitors as me (ZSN-PRO/ZS10-PRO). Are you getting a constant loud hiss when plugged into the streamer X? I do and it does not change with the volume set for the headphones. Any thoughts?

I thought this was going to be for me until I realized it would take multiple clicks to switch my audio output from speakers to headphones. With wave link it’s just one button the stream deck
SoundSource from Rogue Amoeba, if you're on a Mac. Farrago from the same stable is also very useful, so is Audio Hijack and Loopback. Now if only those four apps were one, that would be awesome.

Great walk through. I had to turn off the mic setting for HDMI as my camera microphone picks up all room noise. So custom all the way. Hopefully the next version of the software or the Mac Unify when released will give more options.
I wish there was a hybrid of the atem mini and streamer X: better audio, HDMI switching and sound fx pad. THAT would be amazing!
Anyone know how why I can’t hear my microphone via steamer x? For example, when I’m on a zoom call, I can talk into my mic no prob but can’t audio monitor as no audio output is coming through the headphones. Thanks I’m advance 👊🏻
shuold it work with only usb cable without opwer? when I conect only usb to computer the smartpads turnes off
If you have a lot of usb devices plugged in or your mic uses phantom power, I’d suggest using auxiliary power. Also if it could be plugged into it’s own outlet, all the better. Motherboards can’t always supply multiple devices with power, especially with phantom power engaged. Sometimes adding external power can introduce noise, so plugging it into its own outlet can help reduce interference.
This advice is not specific to the streamer x, I still haven’t gotten mine in the mail yet. Those points are just general advice, I hope your issue gets resolved soon!
Atem software control and Rode Central cannot run simultaneously on the same windows computer. Just saying 🙂
If anyone wants to swap a pro 2 or a duo for a streamer x, I’d be willing to swap. I won my streamer x in a contest, and while I’ll use it because it’s better than what I currently have, I’d prefer the unit with physical faders. Plus I do podcasts and live events, so having more xlr inputs and direct control would be preferable.
I hear you.... I also like physical faders and the tactile feel of being able to adjust all of that on a hardware device rather than in software. I've had the RCP2 since it came out and now testing the Duo.... honestly, it feels like the Duo was designed for my exact needs! I never have more than 2 mics plugged in and having all of the same on board processing as the RCP2 in the smaller form factor is just perfect. Now if the Duo also had four HDMI inputs for my studio cameras THAT would be the ultimate perfect device for me!
@@TakeOneTechright?!? That would be a top notch device. I currently use a beheringer xenyx q502 usb mixer and a beacn mix create for audio routing. My problem is I switch between Mac an pc for editing and gaming respectively. The beacn (a year out) still doesn’t have Mac support. Also, thank you for the guide, im watching it currently!
