Had one! Had to return it! Unit crashed every few hours with complete audio loss! Now back on my Roland Bridgecast! This thin runs without software (all in HW) and and Avermedia UVC CAPTURE Card for the camera.
🐺Thanks for the content! I have a question Rode has not been clear on answering. When plugging in your XLR audio & your DSLR Video. Can you output those two input signals from one port to the PC?
@@kriedholm i even waited for 2 new FW and SW Versions befor i decided to return it! also USB Connection with Iphone does not work! Not even with the expensive RODE Cable, whereas plugging the phone to the AUX Channel with the Bridgecast works like a charm via TRRS-USB Adapter. Having a phone call with my DT1770 and the Dynacaster is no problem then
Streamer x is my choice, because it is small enough, so that all my production equipment can fit into a small bag and it can be powered by a power bank or laptop. I use it in combination with a 5g mobile hub and the rode wireless go 2. For me it is the ideal fit for hand luggage flight and on site productions.
I am a big Rode fan. You really simplified and hit all based for me. I am still learning the in-and-outs of the Rodecaster Pro 2. However, because of your review I am considering for live streams. Thank you!
I've found your chanell thanks to this video, I just bought Streamer X and I love it. I love also your content. Keep going! Great job! I love your calm voice and your colorful hair :) Best of luck and greetings from Warsaw, Poland!
Thank you. I liked and subscribed. I would like if the Streamer X had the capabilty for an extra camera. I may have to wait for that version to come out ;-)
I just bought this device and i found one specific thing i need for my setup. My Panasonic cameras have a known issue... HDMI latency. So when i use my camera and microphone with this device, there's a syncing issue between the video and audio. Definitely going to need audio delay in the device / Rode Central / Rode Unify. Great video! Love the quality of your production!
Thanks for the info on the Streamer X. I'm not a streamer so I probably won't get it. I'm waiting for the Rodecaster Duo. It's on backorder right now but I'll be happy when it arrives! 😀
Great video! Great detail and real world use cases. I am in corporate zoom meetings and want to use this to have a camera and Rode Podcast or SM7B mic plugged in with a couple extra capabilities. This should be great. Btw, your into is not too long and the timestamps are there for a reason. ;-)
I just picked one up after watching your videos. Do you get a weird reverb on the mic monitoring but it's fine in the recordings? It's almost like I'm hearing the mic twice.
Nice! I haven’t experienced that. Are you running the latest firmware? Only other thing I can think of is that you’re monitoring multiple audio sources at once? Check your settings in rode central and hope you’re able to sort it out.
Dumb question. I understand the video and mic with the device on zoom. But how do you listen to your clients on your zoom meetings while talking into the mic and giving the sound effects? I’m assuming you must be wearing headphones? You cannot use monitor speakers correct?
You can hear others via the speakers on your computer, but if you go this route, you won't be able to hear the sound effects. In order to hear both, you'll want to monitor using headphones via the Streamer X.
Great video! I just wanted to clarify can you connect 2 wireless go transmitters so you can have to audio inputs? or are there any work around to have 2 audio inputs i.e. xlr & wireless?
You can connect only one transmitter directly to the Streamer X, but if you use the workaround I cover in this video, you can connect 2 using the Wireless Go II: ruclips.net/video/P4hQxyfAPe8/видео.html
this sounds great - what a fantastic overview. thank you very much for that. Question: I have the Atem Mini Pro - tuse my iPad for presentation and on the picture in picture mode most of the time. Is it possible with the streamer x 1) to get the signal from the camera via HDMI and b) the other signal via USB 2 from an iPad and c) change between this two pictures - and even have my face somewhere while presenting from the iPad?
Hi Karem - the USB-C's are out's only at this time. Will be interesting to see if Rode has something up their sleeve to make the scenario you describe possible in the future.
@@kriedholm so a workaround could be: Atem Mini HDMI-Out for several inputs, into the streamer X. Still 2 devices, but that could work, right? Did you try that already?
Hey, great vid! When it says it has 2 USB C ports and the ability to connect to 2 computers, does it also cover the situation where I would plug XLR mic and Mirrorless camera in, and have BOTH USB Cs going out? One to my MacBook Pro, and one to my Windows Desktop PC? I would never need those two at the same time. MacBook is used for work (I need good quality video and audio), while Windows machine is used for gaming / streaming. You would greatly help me if you gave me the answer to this! Cheers :)
Can you comment on how much of the onboard DSP audio controls you are using vs post-processing? Rode Central is not awesome for dialing in mic settings in a repeatable way. No support for profiles as well. Curious if the Duo would be a better fit if you are putting audio first.
@@kriedholm I picked up a Streamer X to test and the out of the box experience is terrible. Hardware is fine, but on the software side Rode has a ways to go, at least on the mac.
Thank you for sharing your experience with Rode Streamer X. I think I will be buying one :) My question is can you control the volume of the music that is coming from the pads while live streaming without affecting the microphone gain?
Right now you can only adjust the gain and NOT the volume on any of the pads directly on the Streamer X. You can adjust the pad volume using Rode Central on your computer.
