- The prosecution team that is seeking the death penalty for the Parkland school shooter continued to call the grieving relatives of the slain victims to read statements at Broward County court on Tuesday in Fort Lauderdale.
The part where she said she will always hesitate when someone asks “how many kids do you have?” Is heartbreaking. I don’t know this pain, I hope I never will but you still have the same amount of kids, it’s just that some are here on earth and one is in heaven. sending you hugs mama. I’m sorry for your loss.
I’ve watched this Mom throughout the trial. She is so eloquent. I’m so sad for her, for every parent there. 😢I can’t imagine my son being gone, it terrifies the hell out of me.
Talking about your child in the past....so heartbreaking. To die in such a brutal unfair way. The real grave of the deceased is in the heart of the survivors and families💔💔💔💔

It’s so emotional to watch, can’t imagine what it’s like to feel the pain they feel. The crime was senseless and the issues Cruz may have had really had nothing to do with anyone he hurt.
I haven't seen my kids for over ten years and the hardest part of any day is when someone asks if you have children.

years and years after my mom lost my brother, we would often find her just staring in a daze, with no expression... just sorrow. these parents will never be the same until they see their children again.
Its a nice comfort to the grieving that all will meet again in some mythical paradise… The reality is its just a black void, a silent nothing, a silent pitch black box in the ground…Life is a known, death is just the absence of life, nothing can begin to compensate these poor victims of pure evil…

Please read The Soul of a Swimmer by Carla Albano. It is a biography about Nick Dworet’s life and his family. His story and so many of the others need to be told. It is wonderfully written and will help you learn more about the Dworet family. Such a tragic loss. He had such a bright future ahead. May God continue to help this family, and all the families, to heal.

Every one of these kids cut down were outstanding. Evil came in the school that day and took the finest. So cruel and heartbreaking for all these families

I can’t even imagine the pain and sadness she lives through since that beast entered the school to kill. He destroyed so many lives and dreams. We must do better to protect our children.

Read about him in Swedish newspapers after it all happened and got so sad... He truly seemed like a great kid and it's a shame that he didn't get to pursue his dream. It's when you graduate from high school that your life starts for real because that's when you have more time to do what you love. It's so sad that he didn't even get to graduate. But also, it's not just the fact that these kids (+3 teachers) are dead that is sad, but also how they went... it just shouldn't have to happen.
I wish the defense lawyers could have told this woman that she should be ' lucky'( with quotation marks obviously) that this did not happen in Sweden. From what I understand all their prisons are like a 5 star grand hyatt hotel and its more like a reward than a punishment.

It must be very hard for the parent of a victim to come into court and testify. I wouldn’t be able to do this, if I had children and they were the victim of gun violence. This is horrifically sad!! Just the way she describes her son and how hard he worked in High School by putting motivation and effort into his studies later being accepted into a University! Nikolas Cruz did not have to do this, he destroyed many families and ruined his own life by shedding many bullet shells. 😢😢😢

Nick was an amazing person: not only a talented and hardworking swimmer but also a loving and empathic young man.
Nick was a natural leader and everyone of his friends and team mates looked up to hin because he was an example.
Seeing her mother like this really break me, I can only image her pain, she doesnt deserve it.

My heart is just breaking, hearing the family's of the murdered children and teacher's. I can't stop crying! I have 5 kids, I couldn't even imagine, fathom the thought of losing any of them. I will, and choose to keep my opinion of the shooter to myself. He has to answer to God himself on his actions. God bless all the family's, that had the courage to say what they needed to say about their loved one's being taken to early in life. No one should ever have to endure that pain, to losing their child. Prayers to all the family's.

I'm so stuck between death or life in prison. He doesn't deserve to live. But that's the easy way. Life think about what you have done everything day and suffer. Its difficult one. Horrible human being. Them poor kids just trying to make something of themselves. And their families unthinkable what they go through every day. My heart breaks for you all. I'll help you out ...do you know that COs have to take care of inmates on a whim..they want something they have to get it , if there is even one complaint that a CO can get written up and after so many the CO is evaluated on job performance ...now imagine that the CO knows EXACTLY what the inmate did INCLUDING details that were not released to the public but we're in the case file ( they are not saying it publicly , BUT if you read between the lines of an autopsy, "close range and burn marks from a gun on clothing"..indicated EXECUTION STYLE!...now YOU try showing someone respect when you know those details and that inmate is in your face demanding a 2nd tray of food just cuz they can ...and YOU try tolerating that until that inmate dies ..look up how much an inmate costs per year which is about $20,000 multiply 50-70 yesrs that includes food ,housing,healthcare, clothing, bedding that YOU are paying for , for someone who EXECUTION STYLE shot several times a 15 year old for NO friggen reason! ..... that's NOT including the 16 others that ALL had multiple gunshots that included close range AND that's NOT including the 17 others that survived after they were shot ...case closed !

Nicholas seemed like a very good-hearted person and had a passion for something, dreams and goals... If he were to become an olympic swimmer, he could've inspired more young people to pursue their dream. As his mom said, he already tried helping younger kids to become better swimmers. It's so important for young people to have dreams and goals and people that encourage them. NC had no dreams and goals and is just pure evil. If he would've spent the time he planned all of this on actually getting better or finding a passion for something other than killing, the world would be a better place. It's so unfair that 17 beautiful, innocent souls were taking away when that scumbag is still breathing.
