If you were getting contaminated oil from the air you've got something seriously wrong with your air filtration system, the biggest contamination of oil is the clutch and the second is blowback carbon and the biggest particles, metal from the gearbox. So it doesn't really matter if you've got synthetic or mineral oil you should be changed according to the conditions i.e. high rev and load on the engine so anything from 4 to 10 hours of use. Synthetic oil is a must for low temperature. areas, any normal conditions mineral oil is just as good, changing the oil at regular intervals has the least wear on the engine and gearbox.

one of most important is to get an oil which have calcium, magnesium or any detergent additives to keep clean up engine distribution and all small oil hoses, by pass and pressure valves... I saw too many engines opened, showing bad brown deposits. Worst ; People rebuild engine but oil circuit is already in bad shape, clogged by deposits...they are surprised they blow new rebuilt engine after a fast high rpms run. Yes, dude, the ball/spring of high oil pressure bypass was clogged, didn't open, not cleaned or changed....
