I wear size 8 in Vans, Converse, and New Balance. People suggest sizing down for Dr. Martens, but when I tried size 7, it didn't fit my feet at all, so I chose my true size, which is size 8. Will they loosen up once the break-in process is finished?
That's a tough one, I'd rec going to a Dr. Martens store if they have one by you to try em on. I personally would still go one size down but I also just hate big shoes.

Im 8.5 US, i bought 9 US should i sell and buy size 8 US?
If you feel like it will fit too big I personally like when my loafers fit snug
