- 8K TVs are here, but is it worth to invest the extra money to get the extra resolution? Does it even make a difference? We checked the latest scientific research on this topic and here are the answers!
Underrated channel
Thanks for uploading this. SOme fascinating data results indeed!! So much of what people experience with technology is subjective to the individuals that experience it. TCL 85C 805K user here - I sit approx 2 meters from the panel and even the differences from high bit rate 1080p and native 4k content can be negligible. I'm sure we'll start to see 8k become adopted over time simply because of technological progress in the film/TV/videogame industries but in 2024? 8k TVs are overkill.
I was thinking about this topic. I didn't expect to find video about that with that quality based on science. Underrated channel.
Is it worth it to get one of them fancy bread toasting machines???? Lmao
Thanks for the information, my love 😊
4k has a lot of issues with regards to broadcasting and running games. 2k looks great while not being as demanding.
Well done. 8k is only good when you walk close to the screen to see sharp picture. But nobody should be paying for that double, triple or quadruple.
I don't know, may be big TVs do benefit from High res
@@mindrover777 would need to be really big - way above field of view 40 hence not very useful. But what we would benefit from is image processing - to take low bitrate and or low resolution image and make it look like native high bitrate 4k. That would be a game changer for bigger screens that show low quality content in bad light. I would think Samsungs 8k would somewhat enhance the source that it could look better than similar 4k screen.
@@whitecrowuk575 that's not possible beyond a certain threshold. This isn't magic.
We are talking about filling in the info which isn't there. Not an ideal scenario by any means
@@mindrover777 neural network/machine learning- already available like on nvidia shield and to some extent done on new 900D as well. It’s guessing the material and trying to reproduce the detail. It’s matter of time not if before it gets really good and will be a standard.
8K TVs are not good for the environment, they need a lot more power to run and for what? So legacy content can look even more stretched out? Non-native resolutions are the worst part of higher resolution screens, 8K just exacerbates it. But you bring up great other use cases for the resolution.
you worry about the environment over a tv? yet they build 7 coal plants a week in Asia? Al Gore and John Kerry private jet all over the planet to convince you to be worried about your tv?
